Allie has the potential to be that unexpected key piece the bench needs!! Where the expectation is not as high yet but your skills can bring that hammer every night!!!!
Allie scored 2,819 points in high school, she'll probably be very helpful this year. She was on the 2024 National All-Star team, the US U-19 and U-17 teams.
between the older players returning and the fact that last years freshman helped the team go as far as they did it will be tough. KK and Shade will lose some time on the court but that is to be expected, but I don't see the freshmen getting the call before those two. Shade is solid and deserves time.
Cheli & Ziebell will have an impact. I'm on record as saying Cheli will be the season's surprise and play 25-30 minutes per game. But Ziebell will play 15-20 and score efficiently.
Shade helped this team get within one game of the dance. As far as I’m concerned, it is her position to win or lose. Same goes for KK. Side note. The one time I root for the Ravens, they decide to blow a HUGE lead against Dallas. And the only thing I hate more than Nazis are the Dallas Cowboys. Of course they pulled it out, but not before giving me a heart attack. Peace!
I hope she starts off with about 15-20 and if she out produces Shade gets thrown into the line up alongside bueckers and chen..if Geno goes small ball..sweet stroke baby..boomshockalocka! Geno does like her shot..maybe..
Shade minutes, and all the rookies from last year minutes were bound to go down. Especially with all the older and more experienced players coming back. Unless the team is missing something like rebounding or inside scoring, the freshman this year won’t play a lot this year. At least not at the beginning of the year. By the end of the season a freshman may force themselves into starting, or more minutes.
El Alfy and Strong will play a lot and could easily pass the other bigs, as none have distinguished themselves. UConn needs rebounding, height & an inside game. Brady is the only returning big that played last year and she was shaky all season to be kind. Patterson is coming off missing all last year to an injury and her freshmen year before that was not good.
Do you think Amari De Berry will challenge for starting spot finally? Morgan Chelli exact say size as Strong, she must have not expected her to sign; she will be gone to portal after 1 season.
Allie might find some minutes because of her ability to score. Basketball after all is still about outscoring the other team. I think playing defense and the speed of the overall game will be issues for her initially. She is not the fastest or the most athletic player in the world. I prefer Cheli a bit in the short term because I think she can compete athletically.
Zibell is essentially a Shade type player, Cheli will likely play more as she adds more diversity in her game. Cheli is a more nimble Ducharme type. I don't expect Ducharme to last the entire season, she will be out after she inevitably gets hit in the head and will be back in her head/neck injury protocol
This bench is deep Allie and Shade to me is one of the same. It all depends on how wants the ball when the chips are down. Caroline seems like the forgotten Husky out of all this.
Ducharme will rarely see the court. She's not at athletic as these newer players - she's slow of foot and it shows on both ends of the floor. Nor can she shoot as well as the newer players. Love Caroline, but she's not playing much.
@@paulc8752You’re describing Caroline at her injured worst. At her best she was lights out, but no one knows whether we’ll see that version of her again.
@@paulc8752 She maybe so of foot but I wouldn't put it pass Geno to put her in certain situations when the team is struggling or to get to the line. Remember when there was injuries to marquee players on the team she stepped in an played well. You are right the players now are more skilled however are they are crafty as her ? We will find out when the season begins.
Caroline at one point due to injuries carried the team on her back. She can get to the rim and she can shoot. She has length so she can rebound as well. The question is will she be able to scrap like she used to with a head injury?Fully recovered or not once you have concussions you get them very easily in the future. So time will tell but I know Geno likes her game. If she can play healthy, she will .
Why pit uconn players against themselves. They are all team players who want to help the team win. Both Ash and Allie will have good years but we such a loaded squad the playing time will be reduced for everyone. Enjoy the games.
@@brorick5472 The chances of Ducharme playing are not high at all, the chances of her staying playing are even worse. Also, Griffin being ready to start the year is highly unlikely, she blew her ACL Jan 3rd, She will likely not be back till about a year from the date. They will also be cautious with all her other previous injuries. Brady will likely start, even if Jana has shown better by all reports from practice prior to and after the injury. They might not want to put that pressure on Jana. Her composure and maturity level is not known, whether she can handle starting right away. It might be better to work her into starting if she plays well thru the first 4 or 5 games.
@grobble8954 : I really like how you approach your response. There is no debating your facts. There was a time when Caroline was getting buckets, blocking shots, and rebounding.Just really want to see her back. Aubrey is the team best offensive rebounder. Offensive rebounds, for the most part, determine who wins! Aubrey is the teams best perimeter defender and can guard 1 thru 5. Both players are 6' are more. We need their height experience and talents come this "March Madness." So I'll wait and see how it goes 😌

Any pick-up games among UConn players will be great this year. I'd love to see some. 😊

No, Amaei will either transfer or sit on the bench. She will contribute even less thus year because of El Alfy and Strong
De Berry transferred to Maryland after the season ended
