There's 28% GST on TVs larger than 32 inch.
This is only lollipop. It's not for consumer but, for manufacturer.
So, Rs. 2500 discount on a Rs. 1 lac screen?
that's iff manufacturers pass on the cost benifits to us
If local manufacturers wants to take this opportunity to expand their company then they must give better discount. Else why would even anyone go for their product.
No, it's not that simple. Basic economics of scale. 2.5% cost of production removed translates to millions saved for large manufacturers. The trickle down effect adds up a lot. Rest is up to manufacturers to pass down this benefit to end consumer. Considering how competitive TV manufacturing is, one will pass it down and the rest will follow.
Cut prices on necessities like petrol, diesel or food, not on luxuries.
You didn't understand the concept government's goal is not cheap government's goal is local manufacturing boost
Report fails to demonstrate in actual numbers how much price reduction can be expected. Leaves the viewer guessing as to how much benefit can actually be passed down to end user.
It states that open cells make up over 50% cost of TVs and since 2.5% tariff would be cut on open cells, you can definitely somewhat estimate yourself.
@@Aaryan_man1 average Tv cost (slightly on the higher end of the mid-range) is Rs. 40,000. Half that cost is open cells i.e. Rs 20,000. 2.5% tax reduction on 20,000 is Rs. 500. So, on a Tv that costs 40,000. the saving is Rs 500 or 1.25% lol. Complete nonsense government. On lower cost Tvs, the saving would be even less (absolute numbers). They think we are fools. I think I understand now why the report doesn't want to give out the actual numbers - it's going to make the government look bad and the channel doesnt want that.
What about the old models existing models which has been produced, imported RM & assembled already? They wont reduce the price and sell in loss if the new rules comes for implementation... If this is for updoming new models, old inventory will be sold in loss by the manufacturers?
Making displays in India could really help in making those TV's and many other electronic goods. Plus they really contribute majority of the cost in these electronics appliances.
Why don’t they lower gunda service tax?
To late , TVs suck.
When we can expect these prices???
Govt dedh shana
Foreign double shana
Result: ek bhi panel banane wali company nahi hai india mai. Har ek electronic sector mai yehi haal hai. Failure pe failure.
1st one to like video😊
Which tv? Mediocre ones?🤣🤣. Not the high end prrmium tvs🤡🤡
Why act like poor when you can afford high end premium TVs.
This news is good for Indian Manufacturers and average Indians not for ultra rich like you.
@@HasdaRocks this is just a farce played by govt. Even if they make the duty tax low, I think u forgot about other taxes that they impose on commodities like TV, AC, washing machines etc. It won't be substantially low as every average Indians after watching this video would think🥱
