If you grew up in rural Australia in the 70's and 80's it would shock you how many 'Mick like' characters there were - obviously not serial killers like John's character - but I knew a few that were mighty close..
Wonderful, gripping piece of tv, that i thoroughly enjoyed, and I recommend to everyone. All the elements of the wolf creek movies are there, mixed with a little true detective season 1, and an awesome revenge story. Plus Lucy Fry, who id never heard of before this, is heartbreakingly beautiful and a talent actress ill be looking out for in future movies/tv. I hope this series is a hit

Besides it all, you got the unnerving character Mick Taylor who constantly nails the complete show and whoever created this bad but lovable guy is beyond a doubt - a genius! This is one character that truly gets under your skin. In my opinion, no other movie Character captures ones fear in the way Mick does. You couldn't have got a better actor than John Jarratt to fill this role. Its serious stuff and we need more. There's so much more you can do with this guy, he's addictive.... don't ever give up! Keep the series and the movies rolling in....thank you!
It's probably my favorite set of horror films. Listening to John speak in his normal voice is so much more subtle. Lucy does a great job with her American accent, but John's exaggerated accent in the films is priceless. I'm into accents and like any country, dialects differ so much between regions of the same country. John's character accent is so fun to listen to. And his laugh...priceless. I just learned of the series and was so ecstatic to watch it. It does in fact stand as a warning when traveling abroad. Trust no one and be prepared. Listen to your gut and if possible, carry a weapon. What seems like a nice jester can quickly turn into a nightmare. I hope for more Wolf Creeks to come.

I mate of mine who is a director said Jarratt came on set in the original movie in character and scared the shit out of the young girls on the cast. He didn't shower for the first two weeks of filming, and some of them opted out of the film and left the set because of him. then after they had finished shooting he showed up in a black skivvy and had a good laugh with them all.

the german backpackers in wolf creek 2 is still the most horrible scene i think. i would still love to see more of the cave with the captured people held in their for months tho. I think wolf creek 3 should explore that more.

I loved season 1 because it delved into micks background, the childhood abuse etc while still delivering the expected thrill of the chase previously given. Season 2 just ruined it all, just fell off the tracks, crashed and burned. They tried to fix something that wasn’t broken
Spoiler Alert! If you haven't seen all of it. I just finished watching it all. Rewatched both movies, then the entire two seasons. They mostly did a good job with it. The film sequel was much like most sequels, not as good as the first, and the first season, while great, ended somewhat down. The female here having a main role with John didn't get what she set out to do, and pretty much everyone else died. The second ended predictably like the first with Mick being the only one making it which makes sense to keep the role alive. You really wish more audience relief happened, but alas, not so. This is John's baby. There is no doubt he has created a memorable character. So far (hoping for a WC3) his character has been mostly one dimensional, but his back story is slightly revealed via flashback.
Playing as such a sadistic character and switching that character to normal persona must be hard especially after living in that character. Must psychologically change you, knowing how brutal one can be and just how frail and disposable flesh is when your the assailant in the act, like you look at everyday people you see and can imagine the horror you can inflict. Obviously his feats greatly exaggerated what one psychopath could perform. We dont think about our vulnerabilities often but this mick character and the prey really give a dark perspective on what the most evil and savage of mankind can summon.
I've got my master's degree graduation exam in two days and I just watched both series back to back in yesterday and today :D It was just so gripping. I usually hate watching tv series and prefer movies, but damn...I was really surprised by the quality, especially of the second season

I think you could do an actual Wolf Creek TV series, one that actually contains horror, comedy, fun, Mick Taylor. I liked this series, but I don't think any one of those things were in this series. I personally would love to see "Wolf Creek: The legend of Mick Taylor" as a series of isolated episodes, maybe not even that long, maybe like 20-30 minutes. Do a 12 episode run with a couple of two and/or three parters and have it just be basically ghost stories, only seriously fucked up.
