The Vervet Forest is a wildlife rehab series focused on Vervet Monkeys at the Vervet Monkey Foundation . 🇨🇦 you all are amazing people with huge hearts for what your doing to save those sweet monkeys. I love, LOVE, watching your videos! Seeing the babies come in so frightened only to see them a week later bouncing and climbing and as healthy and happy as can be! I love the process of when they come in to seeing them adopted and going out to start their new lives with their new moms and families. It's just amazing and so beautiful! Thank you all so so much for making these videos for all of us to watch and learn. Love to all from Ontario Canada!

Has Laura left then? I hope not! I love her voice and I agree with her about the 'weirdos' in James Troop. I like that they are a bit off beat, but most of all my heart sings to see Gimli now. You all must feel very rewarded at how you helped that tiny, very unhappy little soul pull through slowly and flourish. I think everyone must have a soft spot for that little fella! Interesting about how climate change may be responsible for out of season births. I wonder how the troops react to these newborns and if it affects the balance in any way. You know, it's pretty cool that the foster moms automatically know what to do. It's like they trained themselves. It's wonder to see. ❤❤❤❤
The monkey in the bowl was so cute. He was trying to enjoy himself. However I did enjoy watching the other monkey pestering him😂
It's surprising to find out that Vervet older sisters are a real pain in the neck too. I'm beginning to think it must go way back in the evolutionary tree. Is there any way that you could prepare my lunch and send it to me every day? It all looks so good and well prepared. Stay safe!

As a human that had five inches removed from my large intestine (age about 64), not cancer, it is a very difficult surgery to recover from. I have had several other abdominal surgeries including hiatal hernia and it was by far the hardest in all aspects. Best wishes to all the monkeys.

It's hard to jump to the conclusion that climate change is the sole reason for an out of season birth since primates kept in seasonless enviroments in captivity will not procreate out of season. And long before there was noticeable change in climate, decades and decades ago there are the mentions in primate literature of the occassional or rare out of season birth. What is most mysterious is how this infant survived in apparently decent condition as many out if season births tend to be rejected by mother and troop as a liability that they can't deal with during winter months. This one however was apparently cared for by its mother or a human up until it was taken to be brought to you. It's possible that the person that had it that the couple got it from actually found it abandoned as it does not seem at all upset with being cared for by humans
Very observant another strange thing is they had infant formula and a baby bottle not something people would normally have when just finding a orphan and handing him over
I believe they gave several possible reasons as to the unusual birth. You are jumping to conclusions that they are saying it as fact. They were simply giving an opinion. Mellow out, they are doing their best in narrating the video for people like me, in that I know nothing and I appreciate the education and hyposocist of why something may have happened. It really is disturbing when viewers criticize. There are more productive ways of having a debate or simple conversation if you dont agree with something said.

Hi, I have looked everywhere but I can't seem to find the answer: How strong are vervet monkeys ie. Their physical strength? Can a full grown male in his prime, hurt a human being?
they can bite very badly but they no match for a human we would win in confrontation fairly easily - if a human was the same size they probably would be about 4x stronger

I have a couple of questions that I am sure you have already answered but here goes: how long does the mother/baby bond last? Does the mother get a new baby each year? Does the orphan, if female, become a foster mother herself when she is the correct age? If the orphan does in fact become a foster mother, does the “family” include the original foster mum? Thanks for answering these, if you have time.

00:38 "do not give human attention" - what exactly does that mean? I imagine that giving the wrong type of attention. like treating a monkey in a humanizing manner, like a pet is inappropriate but I'm sure everyone at the VMF knows not to do that.
we have volunteers coming in on a monthly basis - so no not everyone knows that and we have learnt to assume is when mistakes are made

When baby season comes again...Id really love to have a chance to name a healthy baby girl. My Aunt Terri past away almost a yr ago and my cousin is really struggling with losing her and how she past. My Aunt was the most loving and generous person. She also adopted me when I was young and I think this might help my cousin to heal. ❤🐵❤
