I have been trying to research the different 30A beaches and this is the most helpful videos I have found! I will be interested to see when you have a chance to review the others!

Thank you so much! That means a lot to me! I will try to do more reviews of just the beaches! That is a great idea! I have stayed Rosemary, Grayton, and SanDestin and enjoyed the beaches at all. But, my picks are Grayton, Rosemary, and Sandestin in that order. Grayton had the widest beach with a really ice curve and was by far the quietest. Beautiful changing/restroom area and inexpensive kayak rentals! Rosemary was private so not too crowded (as compared to Seaside) for example. I liked that there were bathrooms, a large green space, and restaurants with carry-out food options to take to the beach. Also, the pool access was nice. Sandestin was more crowded and we had to use a shuttle to access. I know that is not the situation for all but it felt more congested with the hotel. etc. Do you have a favorite? Let me know and I will make sure I go there! Thanks again!

@@TravelJeannie I have only been to Sandestin and although I liked the resort, the beach was waaaaay too crowded for me. Hoping to go to either Rosemary or Seaside next!

I thought I heard you say "Hamptons of the South"! then I read in your description. I have had the good luck of experiencing the beaches of the Hamptons and many other beaches on Long Island! I had the good luck of experiencing the "Redneck Riviera and/or The Playground" - of course the time period was late 1960's to early 1980's! I am so glad I lived and experienced both Westhampton Beach, Long Island and Fort Walton Beach, FLA during my youth and young adulthood.

I wish I could have seen all those beaches in the 60's-80's! I have seen videos showing the transformation through the years. It must be bittersweet for the locals(and visitors). Do you have a favorite? I

@@TravelJeannie I do not have a favorite anymore because it all gets overcrowded from the roadways to the parking lots. All the scenic views from the roads are gone except when you are on a bridge or driving along the stretch of Bloody 98 [drunk drivers ruin the insurance rates for everyone] between Destin and FWB. I haven't been to the beaches in years and if I find a favorite I will keep that to myself: thank God for our swimming pool!

@@TravelJeannie I live in Fort Walton Beach - I returned in 2015 and this place has grown, but in the wrong direction in regards to socioeconomics!

@@PappyNet01 I see. Yes, I live in a nice suburb outside of Chicago but was shocked at how expensive everything is down there. I'm not used to $80 for burgers in a basket and $8 coffees. I try employ my money saving strategies and enjoy the natural beauty- camping at Grayton Beach(blows away the private beaches in my opinion) and renting $10 kayaks was just as awesome as the condo we rented in Rosemary Beach (and more relaxed in every way). You live in a beautiful area. Happy for you!

@@balzoemg8415 Got it. I have a friend who stayed in Blue Mountain which and they liked it but said they would stay in Rosemary next time. I assume they opted for Blue Mountain because it was a little bit cheaper to rent or if they decided to purchase, their desired budget. Another friend was house hunting in the area and really loved Watercolor. My parents preferred Grayton. I think the action, best restaurant, etc. are more concentrated from Grayton to Rosemary. We ventured out to Stinky Fish Camp Restaurant which is more where you are talking about and there wasn't much around but I assume that is changing rapidly. Do you have kids, teens? I think that could really influence your choice. I remember booking my first trip there and I couldn't make a decision. Once you go, you will know which area you prefer. By the way- I am a Florida junkie and these are the best beaches in the state- hands down.

HI Sheila, Sorry for the delay. This photo was taken at Rosemary Beach. This is a short boardwalk over the dunes to the beach. Behind me is a green space and in front of me, steps lead down to the beach. Hope that helps. I'm happy to answer any additional questions!

I realized when I was answering other questions today that I may not have answered your question correctly. 30A is located between Destin and Panama City in the Florida PanHandle. It is very family friendly and the opposite of chaotic. I would not say totally chill because there is a lot going on and in my opinion it is very expensive. It is incredibly beautiful and safe. I have been to the area 4 times and love it but the vibe it not like anything I have ever experienced. I really love the Carolinas including Hilton Head and Kiawah. I would say that This area can come off as much more elite than Kiawah, Naples, or Newport Beach California but in a family way-not sure if that makes sense. Not really my comfort zone but it is seriously beautiful/perfect and I try not blend in as much as possible. If you visit you will not regret it and will probably return again and again. The secret is out down there. I am from the Chicago area and people are purchasing homes down there at sky high prices. As for areas...When my kids were little I loved Rosemary Best but now I may say I like the Grayton Beach scene more for tweens, adults, and elderly that might be done with the beach and just want to grab dinner. Anyhow, beach is like the Caribbean without taking a plane. Lots of Southerners and they seem to really know how to live life and have a good time:)
