I think 5 (2 adults and 3 kids). It was pretty crowded when we went and I remember kids were discounted. They really didn’t monitor us much. I don’t think it was pay per cart or anything. Just how many people in your party and then wait for a cart (s). We did the golf cart in May and the bat bar was not open. The activity was definitely worth the price in my opinion. After the GC rides, we had lunch at the restaurant (veranda seating)- great views and the food/service/ambiance was as good as it gets.

Someone from your party drives. There was no guide. The golf cart had narration and visuals built into the technology aboard. The drivers were very polite and courteous to one another. There are various spots to park and take a photo or just look around.

But the question is HOW is it done??? I've been searching ALL over and can not find ANY Straightforward answers 😢😢😢

It is free if you are staying at the hotel Effie. Otherwise, I think you need to pay or can’t go at all. There is a public beach nearby at the Topsail Hill Preserve. There is a pool at the beach club but hotel Effie guests do have access. The beach club is very close to the Hilton hotel so you could grab meals there too. Full disclosure, I thought the beach club was a little run down and dated. But, you are going for the beach, not the facilities.

Also, the Grayton beach,about 20 miles East, it really beautiful and not very crowded. Lots of fun places there too! I have never been to topsail but I am sure there are great youtube videos. Seems bigger than Grayton.

Hello and I am sorry for the delay. Mini-golf, canoe and paddle boat rental(non motorized watercraft), floating lilly pad in the lake, all sport courts, and all pools are included. Movie nights with snacks used to be included but I am not sure if they changed that during covid and are going back to free or not. It was not expensive. Getting into "Fun Mountain" is free but activities are extra- bowling arcade, ropes course, etc. There is a playground inside that is free. There are many other activities that may be 10-20 such as the night scavenger hunt, archery tag, etc.. Nothing is outlandishly expensive. The golf cart ride at top of the rock was not really cheap but kids are free (not sure about the ages). The first time we went we skipped to save and the second time my kids were older and we were charged:(. That was really neat though and worth the price of admission. We went to the nature preserve about 20 minute away and it was beautiful and "special" like everything here. However, I thought it was not worth the expense and drive time. The price only included admission and everything else was extra. I would call the resort and ask what is included. Everyone is friendly and helpful. My biggest money saving tip (if you are comfortable with the risk) book on Ebay with someone that has many reviews. No timeshare presentation and huge savings. We have stayed here 3 time and 2 were Ebay. I actually like the room location better- there is no difference in amenities offered that I can see but you can save thousand(s). I hope this helps!

Bakers Cay has a very Caribbean feel. The resort is horizontal and parallel to the ocean which gives you a long waterfront and wooded tropical vibe. There is no indoor hallway to enter the rooms (like a motel) but there are no motel vibes here. I was torn between the two as well but have no regrets with our decision to stay at Bakers Cay over Playa Largo. There are little surprises throughout the resort… not luxurious freebies but just a cool place that would really appeal to anyone and all ages which is hard to do. Only disappointment was dinner at the restaurant. Beautiful but not worth the hype and not super fun. Probably better options. We loved it though I would go back rather than try another resort in the area. I hope that helps :)

Me too! We were there last week for a very short stay. It was a very relaxed trip but we went to the Celebration farmers market and the Fortunate bakery’s Celebration location as well as Disney springs. I literally dream of moving to Florida! We met some locals at the Boathouse bar. We were escaping a sudden torrential downpour by hiding out in the bar area. The couple moved from Florida from a town that neighbors ours in IL! They love their new life in Claremont, Fl. Now I am curious to learn more about Claremont.

Thank you so much! That means a lot to me! I will try to do more reviews of just the beaches! That is a great idea! I have stayed Rosemary, Grayton, and SanDestin and enjoyed the beaches at all. But, my picks are Grayton, Rosemary, and Sandestin in that order. Grayton had the widest beach with a really ice curve and was by far the quietest. Beautiful changing/restroom area and inexpensive kayak rentals! Rosemary was private so not too crowded (as compared to Seaside) for example. I liked that there were bathrooms, a large green space, and restaurants with carry-out food options to take to the beach. Also, the pool access was nice. Sandestin was more crowded and we had to use a shuttle to access. I know that is not the situation for all but it felt more congested with the hotel. etc. Do you have a favorite? HI Diana, Every building has parking in front of it. There should be handicap parking assuming you have a sticker. The staff here is very accommodating. I would definitely call them and explain your needs. In addition, you want to consider the building and your room's proximity to the elevator. In terms of buildings: Here are the building that require the least walking to the pools -Building 1 (Bella Florida Area with main pool), Building 25 (Amelia Village- with the pirate ship),and finally Buildings14/15 (Key West area-is the least crowded and least congested). I wish I could have seen all those beaches in the 60's-80's! I have seen videos showing the transformation through the years. It must be bittersweet for the locals(and visitors). Do you have a favorite? I

@@TravelJeannie I do not have a favorite anymore because it all gets overcrowded from the roadways to the parking lots. All the scenic views from the roads are gone except when you are on a bridge or driving along the stretch of Bloody 98 [drunk drivers ruin the insurance rates for everyone] between Destin and FWB. I haven't been to the beaches in years and if I find a favorite I will keep that to myself: thank God for our swimming pool!

@@TravelJeannie I live in Fort Walton Beach - I returned in 2015 and this place has grown, but in the wrong direction in regards to socioeconomics!

@@PappyNet01 I see. Yes, I live in a nice suburb outside of Chicago but was shocked at how expensive everything is down there. I'm not used to $80 for burgers in a basket and $8 coffees. I try employ my money saving strategies and enjoy the natural beauty- camping at Grayton Beach(blows away the private beaches in my opinion) and renting $10 kayaks was just as awesome as the condo we rented in Rosemary Beach (and more relaxed in every way). You live in a beautiful area. Happy for you!

HI James, It is the Blue Lakes Falls/Blue Lakes Trailhead. It is very close to the Quandry Peak Trailhead but a maybe a mile farther down the road. This area is used for hiking and recreation. On your way to the parking area you will see people hiking in the valley. But, if you want to get to the falls, you can drive all the way to the back close to the blue lakes trailhead. We walked tried to access the falls from the top but was above our comfort level so we hiked up from the bottom. It is a simple scenic path. If you use google maps' satellite view, you can get the lay of the land. Hope this helps. Thanks for leaving a comment!

@@Silent_Chillz Yes, you should be OK. I would just take it slow while driving. The falls are close by. We were recommended this spot by our piano teacher who travels to Colorado every month just to hike. It is actually much prettier in person. To reach the falls, cross the water (you will walk over some rocks or just wade ankle deep) and enter one the wooded area of the valley, then follow the path to the right. It is a very short hike. We saw mountain goats at the top closer to the reservoir area. Neat experience! Have a great time!

We never been to that resort. We just wish to be able to stay there one day. It looks so romantic 😍
