どう in どう思いますか？ means "what/how", so どう思いますか means "What/how do you think?". On the other hand, と思います is added after a complete sentence, so the translation is more like "I think that [complete sentence]" (The と particle works as a "quote" marker). So, yes, you're right that it would be incorrect to say : このニュースについてと思いますか？ as it would be "translated" as "Do you think that about this news?". The correct sentence would be : このニュースについて どう思いますか？ "What/how do you think about this news?". Hope this helps😊

This sentence uses the negative form of the TE+いる expression (here's the link to the video that explains the expression: th-cam.com/video/qvjrRiBgp3I/w-d-xo.html). 結婚していない means "not married" and 結婚しない means "do/will not get married", "not going to get married". So, "先生は 結婚して いない と思います" means "I think the teacher is not married", and "先生は 結婚しない と思います" means "I think the teacher won't get married". Hope this and the video to the TE+ている expression help😊
konnichiwa! どう思いますか？ means "What do you think?". So, when you say "I think (STATEMENT)", it's "(STATEMENT) と思います" if the statement ends with verb or i-adjective, and "(STATEMENT) だと思います" if the statement ends with na-adjective or noun.
