- I am so stoked on this new griddle!! I put a time stamp at the start of the video if you want to skip straight to the seasoning part. Let me know in the comments what you want me to cook next. I am fixing my GMG this weeks, so BBQ is in the future!!

Thanks everyone for watching!!! What have you cooked lately on your 17in?
Cooking MC’s like a pound of bacon
Yeah im from Vacaville California & I just got me one i Love it 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Thanks for showing me how you do this. Very mellow teaching skills. Like your channel. I need to see the kettle bbq videos also!
Yes, my friend! Keep it up nice video! Just bought this bad boy for camping.
Bought my 17" Blackstone just like yours for my camper - got the backpack to store it in. We camped all last week, just got home yesterday. I cooked bacon several times, burgers, fried potatoes, fried bologna, patty melts, French toast, brats, chicken wings, and cooked a homemade pizza using TH-camrs "Waltwins" recipe, which turned out so freaking good, you have to try it. Your video was great. Keep up the good work, I appreciate your sense of humor.
Just subscribed. Stumbled upon this older video and liked it. I think because I just got their 22" portable griddle and was searching for a bunch of videos on them.
Thank you so much!! I had to take a break for a little filming videos due to family stuff. I will be putting a new video out soon!! Enjoy the 22in!!
I’m getting mine tomorrow as a belated Mother’s Day from my family! I enjoyed your video!!
Thank you so much. I have been dealing with some family and house stuff over the last 3 months but will be back to posting soon!!!
Enjoyed your video. I can’t have flax seed as I have bad allergies to it. Glad to know canola works good. I got the electric 17 inch as a gift and am enjoying it.
I just bought one. Nice knife!
Just got the 17’ for the race this weekend in darlington. Can I put the blackstone on a traditional hard plastic tailgate table to cook? Does the base get super hot where it needs a granite top or etc so it won’t burn my table ? Thanks !
Mark from Florida Here,. (. ( Mark's Powered Paragliding Florida ). at the( Williston Municipal Airport) in ( Williston Florida ,). You rock
Just used mine for the first time. Really like it. When I break it down for storage, can in unscrew the 1lb propane bottle and rescrew it back in when I used it again? This is my first griddle. Lol.
Oh yes! As many times as you want until it runs out. Mine usually last at least 10 cooks
Awesome video!!! Awesome instructions!!! Thank you so much!!!😊
Thank you so much!
I was told that the lid for this griddle is not hinged and you cannot use it when cooking. Is this correct?
Looks like I am number 174 to sub. Only 26 more and it's Weber Kettle time. I just picked up a Weber Performer Deluxe a few weeks ago and am loving it. Keep'em coming.
Yes!!!!! I miss mine so much. That’s for the view and the kind words. I’m doing chicken wings this weekend!
I love the GMG as well.👍
Dude...Hey from "Alerbamer"! I would MUCH rather watch videos from "everyday folks" like you as opposed to "company videos". Scratch behind your dog's ears for me! I am SOOOO close to buying a griddle...you just might push me over the edge. Thanks for that.
I promise you.....you will not want to cook in your house again. Thanks for the watch and the kind words!! Anything I can show you or answer any questions, please ask away!!
Wish I would have saw this before I started just cooking with mine mine has a pretty good bacon grease seasoning
PS, I guessing you know Blackstone has a wind guard for the 22, I'm not sure about the 17. Just posting for others.
Awesome video!
After letting the Blackstone cool after using. Do you unscrew the propane bottle.
Yes I let it cook and I do unhook the propane bottle every time. You can get an adapter to hook it up to a big propane bottle though
do I need to season the back side of that pan too?
Not needed, the bottom did start to get a bit rusty, however it doesn’t affect the cooking process. I get the outside edges to keep it looking pretty
I see you have 255 subscribers right now. . . Did you get the kettle? My wife told me no more grills. I have 7 Weber grills right now, one of each size and a spirit, a WSM and Go anywhere. So what does she do for my B-day?? Got me a 22" Blackstone Adventure. 31 years we've been married and she proved it wasn't for my money this year. Its for my cooking. LOL. Seriously though I'm getting into your videos keep them coming. Keep the name too, it's bad ass.
Thanks for the kind words and view!!! Sooo I was like today is the day babe! 200 hundred subs, I’m going to go buy the weber!! She was like “well should you research the big green egg or the kamodo joe first???”” I was speechless!!! She said it could be a better investment than the weber. I don’t know how she learned those two grills, but I’m weighing the pros and cons right now and should have a decision in the next two weeks. Also.... 7 grills!!!! You the boss!!

I’d be dumbfounded. LOL.
Good luck.
You seem to be an average dude doing what you enjoy. That is refreshing to see over many others to have to be know-it-alls. Good job. Stay humble and carry on.
Did u ever buy the Weber?
Hey, yes I did!! Unfortunately I have been dealing with some family stuff, however everything is shaping up now. I will start producing videos again....SOON
Now that’s a knife!
Buy all the grills!
And we can have alllll the battles
excellent vid! 12:48 haha 💯
Hahaha right!!
The “coco” what’s a shout out to you know who
Yessssssss
The video is a year old. How’s the 17 holding up
Actually really well. Even when we don’t use it for months at a time, the seasoning really holds up well. It’s a solid purchase for sure.
Thank you I want to get one and you were the selling point for me
When are you gonna do some bbq???
Lol when the Blackstone videos stop getting all the views.
I would avoid cleaning it with water at that temp because the steam/splashing may burn you. I'd lower the temp a bit.
Second time I'm watching and I noticed you don't have a bad @$$ knife to open the box. . . LOL. You call yourself an average cook, you should come out this way and see the BS these so called chefs try to pawn off as food, you're leaps and bounds above most of them. Now me. . . Hmmmm. Seriously a great video, keep them coming, we'll keep watching. Show us how you do your hash browns, that'd be a good video too.
Hahaha I know! I need a sick knife. I will for sure make a hash brown video!!! Super fun and easy on the griddle.
Too many "umms".
Ummmm excuse me?
Carbon steel has to be treated exactly like cast iron. It's carbon steel pans that restaurants use. They don't use those expensive tri ply pans.
That said, yes, it's very thin, and I mean thin oil is the key and with carbon steel, you will start to get a solid black coating center only. Outside of center, a rather off color. I prefer to start using it a few times, then go back to adding the coat to fill the outside parameters. I have learned not to rush the process.
Sound familiar?
Fry some bacon, a few times, wipe out heavy, light oil, go through seasoning again.
Pretty much what you are saying.
If I rush it, I have gotten sticky gooey layers in spots.
Anyway, rolled steel seems to be like carbon steel, in getting that season coat.
Which gets me off the tangent to the problem, subject at hand.
Try the following, I'm not going to post a link youtube gets their panties in a twist sometimes.
Google "The Best Way to Season a Carbon Steel Skillet Is … with Potato Skins

This oddly works. 😊😮
LOL, threw the instructions away.
I put a grill together twice, because of that.
