I thought I was a Superman when I could lift up all kinds of heavy stuff, but once my lower back got injured, I have to be very careful. It's very helpful to use a broad belt to support your lower back to prevent repetitive back injury when doing that kind of job.

Maybe borrow a wheelbarrow for moving rocks and sand/dirt? Old Katya is amazing treasure grove of information and know how. Even if perhaps irritating at times I'd say learn everything she says. There is a certain irony of cutting the grass to put now a carpet of grass. Well, it is no mow, so you have that.
A suggestion for your breaking your shovel(spade) is new one where the blade is angled slightly so you have leverage when digging down deep and prying. The one you have is too straight for digging deep. As far as moving your stones use a flat wide shovel with a "D" handle so you can put the stone on the blade and drag it to the location. When I was a boy I did that with very large foundation stones my Dad found.
Another suggestion is with your stones is to make a water fountain. One where a weak flow of water cascades over the stone and that sound would be relaxing in itself. Would need a low flow sump water pump that's not to expensive. All in a small pool that you set in the ground.
Just me doing my mansplaining. You are making nice progress. Baby your back, though. As they say work smarter not harder.

@@ThinkUkraine Have the rocks stacked in a kiddie pool (along the edge so you can "camouflage" the rest of it and just fill with water that recirculates. Add when some of it evaporates. But like you said you will figure it out. Good luck.

my dad started with a plot a land and a tent....then the next year built foundation lived in that , then had to try twice to build rest of house , ya learn a lot of how to learn from people like him...those lil rotary ones might be even better then a lawn mower cause of the rough underbrush ya might get too.

vita by the way when you're in Kiev go to West Second Hand Store and see if you can get your weed eater because you had even electrical weed eater and 100 ft of extension cord you could pick all that nasty stuff in your backyard down easily and if you had a gas powered one you could go out right to the end of the property easy. Oh yeah you have snails you can collect all the snails and feed them you can look up on the internet and how to make your snails edible because there's nothing better than snails and lots of garlic butter I love it but you have to purge them first. Now I don't have snails anymore
All those babushka's in your village and the other villages get them together and have a huge sewing get together to make cold weather gear for the military for the men and women fighting it'll make the babushka's feel like they're doing something for the cause if I was there that's what I would do I go to the old babushka's and same how good is your sewing would you want to help with The heroes keeping warm during the winter let's get all of the women in all the villages close by to do a big sewing party so coats and gloves and all kinds of stuff for the front line it'll be something and then while you're doing that these women have been through world war II they were little girls they saw a terrible things and they don't have many years left and it's important that you record what types of terrible things they went through so Ukrainians in the future know about the sacrifices of the average people during the world war II the patriotic war is Russian propaganda. And most of these women were born after the famine 1932-1933 but they know about it it's just a thought it would bring people together and you'll be able to get some really good information videoed and help the brave fighting troops of Ukraine have nice warm gear this winter

Honestly, first I was shocked, because most people (in Germany) would envy you for that piece of land you have. But I understand you need a refuge from it all, and hey, nature is overrated: thornbush, ticks, or even mowing the lawn, who needs it? But still, it's a bit crazy though. Hopefully you will once appreciate the countryside without artificial grass. (Btw. some germans like rock gardens)
That artificial grass was intended to be used against weeds🙈 to have at least several meters without weeds 🙂
@@ThinkUkraineOk, but probably your efforts are in vain. Don't think your little spa will(did?) survive the first heavy rain shower. Such mats need a hard underground and are good for covering concrete floors. Maybe you can use them to insulate the house? Why not try to get some sand for a beach feeling? Or you comfort yourself seeing it from an ecological point of view: there is no weed in a garden but the lawn.

Oh dear, African snails are on the loose in Ukraine. Hopefully, the cold will kill them if you don't find them. I have heard that snails are attracted to the scent of beer, so crack a beer pour some on a plate, and leave it outside for the snails to imbibe.

vita your garden is looking really nice and your neighbor is so funny. You know I'm sure the ladies in your village have sewing machines I know you should do. Bring them some material from Kiev what the army uses for their clothing and have them so jackets for the boys in the women for winter. Wouldn't that be a great thing and they can teach you how to use the sewing machine. By the way talk to the old babushkas about World War II and you should record it because they're getting to the age where pretty soon it won't be World War II civilians left in Ukraine and people should know how World War II was, you know that it killed 10 million ukrainians.
