    Hey Johnny thanks for taking us through your new van. Looks Great and we will definitely take a good look at one soon with the view to buying. Has a low tow weight and reasonable overall size so is good for a smallish 4WD to handle. Also like the electrical upgrades you have done. Cheers.

    Add a couple of lengths of 40mm pvc pipe to the bottom of the van, from front to rear. You can put your sullage hose inside. That way you have more storage room inside and the hose will dry out. No nasty bugs or smells inside either. Best mod I have made so far.

    That’s a great van it would suit me perfectly. Heaps of storage, outdoor shower & toilet. Love the kitchen and not putting spills, smells and grease through the cabin. Only concern would be the slat bed and whether it would cope with ‘domestic exercising’. Thanks for the video review

    Hi guys! Thanks for this review. We are hopefully going to look at the exact same model of crosstrak next week! Had a few people try to steer us away from Jayco but the crosstrak seems to be best bang for buck! Your review has definitely sold it for us. Keep up the awesome work!

      We had the same, people calling them Junko. I won't deny there have been some warranty items to fix but Jayco haven't hesitated to rectify everything in a timely manner and fit us in despite the fact everyone has gone crazy over camping. Their service has been fantastic.

    We purchased our Crosstrak 13ft in Jun'20 (no bunks) and have also made some adjustments to the van. The huge storage under the seats became a pain to access, we put in marine hatches on the front face and this is now our shoe storage etc. We too bought a topper from PillowTalk and the bed is much more comfortable to sleep on. Brisbane Camperland have added the light switch to our inside panel so we can control the ensuite light (I'm 5ft 2in and had no chance of using the outside light). Due to the lack of cutlery draw (who designs a kitchen without one - even all the camper trailers have one...), we removed the swing down bench and built a 3 drawer unit the height of the fridge in the gap created. This is a cutlery drawer, pan drawer and utensil drawer. We now have a swing arm on the front of the van for sitting the Baby-Q. We used a similar suction shelf for the side of the sink to keep the washing up stuff and one for the insulated cups. On the large cupboard to the left of the door we've put a plastic tile mirror and a clip to hold the small broom. On the right we have a cupboard (because there's no bunks) and this opened with the hinges to the right, meaning you couldn't access anything in the cupboard from outside. We turned the door around and have the hinges on the left. This is our pantry so added has some wire baskets attached to the inside of the door and an underbench slide out drawer from Idea. Luv the van....

    G'Day Folks - Firstly, thanks for a great review. We are currently looking for a hybrid and this review is extremely helpful. I hope you have time to answer a couple of extra questions please. My wife Gen is chasing further detail on the kids sleeping arrangements. We have 9 and 12 year old boys. With the bunk, how long and wide is it please? And do you use a sleeping mat with it. Also any weight restriction to it. With the second maybe sleeping on the couch, again what are the dimemsions of that space please?
    Thanks and again cheers for a great review.

    RV’s in Australia are so much more utilitarian than in the USA and Canada. We struggle to get a camper that is truly a rig that can handle unimproved roads and off highway camping. Most RV’ers will not camp off the beaten path, but many do, and getting an RV that will not fall apart or have suspension problems is near impossible.

    • @__lancaster
      @__lancaster 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry to hear that. I think Patriot Campers are now selling into USA and they will certainly handle anything offroad. Jayco doesnt have a great reputation for anything offroad but these new ones certainly look really functional (not sure on durability under true offroad conditions).

    Hi, thanks for the video. A question for you please that I cannot find anywhere online. On your model, with the outdoor kitchen in that closed space, do you need to connect the gas every time you want to cook, or is it already connected? We have the pull out version and we need to connect it every time and it's really hard. So very annoying every time I need to connect it. I can hardly do it myself, as it's so hard to fit and far underneath. :( If it's already connected, I see no reason why we could not ask a plumber to connect ours in a smart way :)

      As above response to Dan T, ours has been on some pretty hairy roads and the suspension and ride of the van has been fine. Nothing inside has broken or bounced out of its cupboard, mesh shelf. Been on red dust roads and to some national park grounds that are very rutted.

  • @dant2415
    @dant2415 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Loved the walk through, how do you think it goes off road? Did you notice much dust getting past any of the seals, or too early to tell?

    • @thelawsonlife9708
      @thelawsonlife9708  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We haven’t taken it on dust yet but we’ve had it on soft sand for two trips now and it goes really well. It was in a big storm on Saturday and it didn’t miss a beat, no water came in ✌🏼

    • @lynndocchar9043
      @lynndocchar9043 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We took ours up to the Gulf of Carpentaria, Adele's Grove/Lawn Hill and the red dust was terrible throughout the van. We've now solved this with cut sponge in the key areas. Jayco based the design on a caravan which means they expect gas cooking inside. The areas that state "not to be blocked" for gas purposes weren't the issue. There were areas for cabling which weren't well sealed (under the bed and the tall cupboard to the left of the door). This seems to have done the trick.

      Ah you're going to love it! The orange base is the collapsible sink from our camper trailer, but this was $15 from Big W. The purple top is actually a colander that was from Aldi, I just took it from home to use when we went to Airlie Beach because it was an issue on our first trip out. Kings have the collapsible drainer but they are out of stock at the min. The inverter is a Kings 1500W, my husband (sparky) added the front socket so we wouldn't need to lift up the bed to use it. We connected it direct to the batteries. Feel free to ask anything else you'd like to know.
