Hello friends! I made a pledge to myself recently to be 100% genuinely myself in my videos, something I had not yet fully done. I started watching back with your "best pencil sharpener" video..I was looking for an amazing sharpener and somehow stumbled upon your video. I've been watching ever since, esp when I found out you were also in MD. It's been really cool to see how you've evolved over the past year or two. The newer videos have been so different than your previous videos and I LOVE IT. It's so great to see the real you, I could always feel that you were holding back and I'm glad for whatever reason you chose to reveal more of the real you. It's not easy out there in social media to just be you if you fear the judgement and criticism. . Thank you for showing yourself and just kicking that fear to the side. As a fellow Maryland teacher, it's great to have other teachers that are in MD to follow!! And of course, your content like this is why I watch now! Thanks!!

Hi Michelle! Greetings from Mexico City. I am teaching fourth grade too. Watching this I realized why we (or at last most teachers I know) hate planning. Seriously it’s a nightmare. I spend most of my time off school planning because we have unnecessary and complicated form to fill up, and we have to write everything in detail. I mean, I know it’s important but also it is so exhausting 😪 Teachers in Mexico have to teach Spanish, Math, Science, Geography, History, Civic, Art, Socioemotional education, and electives clubs. I wish I could do my class plan in a functional way besides an administrative require. Thank you for sharing! It was really educational see how do you do the planning, and since now I will use my iPad for something else than watch TH-cam videos, hahaha. Have a good one! 🍎

After watching Michelle's video, I went and purchased the planner for the upcoming school year from the Lettered Classroom. The one thing you have to be aware of with this planner is the weekly design is from Monday to Sunday. It is easy to use. You can print the pages. Lots of great features and good value for the money. Thanks Michelle for making the video!

I'm 16 and love your videos as I want to be a teacher. These videos help me see the insight of teaching so much; Everything is completely different then what I thought it would be! I want to be an English teacher and it killed me to hear you say "wanna" in the video ahh it's not a word😂.
This is the best plan with me I’ve ever seen! Maybe is because we have the same style! Thank you!
I love digital planning, I even make my own planners! but can I suggest trying the app zoomnotes. you can add hyperlinks within the app so if you wanted to you could add a link from the month day to the weekly page so that when you click on the day it will take you right to the correct week so you do not have to keep swiping back and forth. There's so much you can with that app!
Bridgett's plananer actually does have hyperlinks built in so you can click on the Monday of each week and it will take you to the spread! I just forgot to use that feature because I had gotten used to just swiping when the first week was just the next page.

I don't think I would have the patience or time to lasso, copy, paste etc. so many times before I even start the actual lesson plan itself. Whew. It does turn out pretty though. I use planbook.com and I love that it saves my weekly schedule times so I don't have to re-create it each week.

Hi Michelle! I commented on your previous video as well, but I felt compelled to comment again since this video is all about lesson planning! I mentioned before that I am a 7th grade ELA teacher in Texas who works with at-risk kids. I, like you, prefer lesson planning digitally, but I use Planbook.com (I play a yearly subscription fee). I am able to set up a template so that each day has all of my headings already there for the entire year for both Reading and Writing, and each of the two subjects are a different color because I teach them separately by having the same kids twice a day. I have three periods of writing in the morning, and then I have three periods of reading in the afternoon.
My lesson plan headings are pretty much the same for both classes; I just have it set to always say "Silent Reading & Reading Log" under the warm-up for Reading and "Journal" under the warm-up for Writing. For each day, I just fill in what goes under each heading for that day. My school requires certain details, so my headings are unit, lesson topic, essential standards, other standards, resources/technology, content objective, language objective, monitoring progress, grouping/differentiation, and then I have warm-up, lesson, and wrap-up. (I think that's everything). So all those headings are already there every single day, and it is so much easier to type my plans as opposed to writing all of that out every day. One thing I really like about Planbook is that I can just type the numbers for the standards with "listed below" in parentheses and then after selecting Texas at the beginning of the year, I can go in each day and click on the number(s) and it automatically inserts the standard(s) at the bottom of my plans. It's always interesting to see how other teachers plan, so I really enjoyed this video!

How do you go about saving your lesson plans for future years? Do you print out the whole pdf? Also do you back up this pdf somewhere else Incase something happens to your iPad?

I love how you teach to make your student want to come to school. Example in math you adjust the curriculum for student learning. Next, following a rigid plan might not work for everyone. It is so hard to teach with many kids in your class and meets the learning need each one. It seem you doing a great job in flexing curriculum standard and what you think is best.
New Mexico Governor is replacing Paarc testing. Did you hear about this news? I know that standardized testing is debate does it measure a student learning.

I am being my genuine self now compared to before when I held back a lot. While it seems different to all of you because it is the first time you are seeing this side of me, this is who I have always been with my closest friends and family.
