Still learning Goodnotes, the best tip for me was learning I could lasso with the pen tool, tap and hold to move! I am always circling and forgetting to select lasso first, this will be a great timesaver. You didn’t mention it but you can still one-time purchase GN6 instead of subscription which is what I did. One final tip I figured out that you didn’t mention is when you know you want to have text instead of handwriting (such as actions maybe), instead of going through the writing/lasso/convert/text/etc., you can just select the text input, tap where you want the text to go, then handwrite anywhere on the screen and it will put the text in the text box. Then just tap where you want the next line to be and repeat.
I use Goodnotes 6 daily in my work as a virtual teacher. I met with elementary school students one-on-one to support their reading and math. I have a notebook for each student. I can import their work into the notebook which gives me a record of their work. I can also personalize work. Some of my students have been with me for 3 years. We have a record of all their work in that time. They love to look back and see how much they have grown in their work.
That is awesome! And thank you for helping our youth!
Do your students use goodnotes with ipads as well?
That is neat. Evidently you are an excellent and resourceful teacher. Best wishes. 👍🏾
@@ibgeorgeb THANK YOU
Wow! I'm new to this and am waiting for my new ipad. Excited to start implementing what you taught and to, finally, be organized! Thank you so much! I know I'll be coming back here over and over again.
you are welcome.
You teach so well! I enjoy listening to you talk also. Thanks for the info.
Well Thank you!
Loved this
You are welcome… Thanks for commenting
Best review of GoodNotes I have seen yet! Thank you. I am going to go find your planner!
Thanks for the comment. Happy to hear you loved the video. If you need help with the planner, please let me know. GoodNotes Planner Shop: bit.ly/3qcxjSu
Thank you for an easy-to-follow and understand video - this has helped me tremendously
Great to hear that the video was helpful. Which tip was must exciting to learn.
Good hints in this video. One of the best I have seen on Goodnotes 6.
Thanks for the comment! Happy to hear you enjoyed the video. Was there a tip that really stood out to you?
Highlighting in a straight line has saved me time and improved the look of my planner, also how to use the hyperlinks without leaving pen mode@@bodendorfer
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ very helpful. Thanks for your sharing
I am glad this has finally been added to Android and Windows, it's great! I would like to see a little bit more customization for both those platforms for the writing tools, ie: scribble to erase, thickness for the highlighter, precise erasing, being able to favorite the writing options, and things like that. I don't do much other than minor stuff, but even those tool customizations would be helpful for me. Thank you again for making an app for Android and Windows. I'm looking forward to being able to use it on my phone maybe in the future for minor adding to planners as things come up or I think of them. Thank you for what you do!
Great presentation. Keep up the good work.
Much appreciated! I really wanted a video that would help people at any stage.
Thank you very informative! I had trouble with links and how to move from month to month tab! Now I think I am good at it!
appreciate the quick overview for someone who is just diving into GoodNotes 👍
you are welcome. Thanks for the comment.
Hi, new to digital planning this year so only ever known Goodnotes 6, thank you for sharing this, lots of good information.
@mariasmith4u You are welcome! What was the most useful tip?
Great video
Brian, Thanks pick up some good tips!
You bet!
I’m pretty sure his name is Branden . . . .
@@mikep7744 yes I am Branden. But he can call me Brian. I have been called a lot worse. Lol
The hyperlink to the meeting page is such a great idea!
YES! it saves me so much time and gives me the opportunity to plan for my meetings as the week progresses or call back on meetings that I had. Great feature!
I’ve been on the fence about upgrading to Goodnotes 6, but this sold me! I’m new to digital planning and note taking on my iPad (after it stayed on the shelf for far too long 😂), but this helped SO much! Thank you!
Happy to hear the video brought you some direction. Which tip did you enjoy the best?
Great video! I learned a few thing! I have a question. When I do a text box there is always extra space underneath the words. It makes it difficult to move things when text is stacked. I’ve tried changing the spacing but it only adjusts the top. How do I prevent this extra space?
Hi Branden, thanks very much for these videos! I was just wondering, can I use that digital planner on an iPad Air? I notice that it is landscape and so I was wondering about size? thanks.
Yes you can! And with the power behind the I pad air you can use pinch to zoom to get the right size for your screen in a matter of a second. This is great for both landscape and portrait.
Good notes
Hi, good video. Where did you get the notebook that you are using in the video? Was this off the GoodNotes marketplace, if so which one was it?
The planner is the Key2Success planner and it is available for all versions of GoodNotes. Here is the link to the planner: brandenbodendorfer.com/goodnotes-digital-planners-shop/
@@bodendorfer thanks
How do you use the keyboard function?
I need an app for iPad that integrates with google calendar and allows me in addition to note taking to voice record the meeting. Is it possible with good notes? Which app do you recommend?
There is zero apps available in the world that would allow you to sync google calendar with handwriting. Part of this is due to the fact that Google won't make their calendar api available. But mostly it's because AI isn't to the level to be able to read written notes and be able to dedicate what your tends are. But here is the real take away if you push yourself to have a computer do your thought processing, there is little left for you to plan. The truth is paper planning and digital note-taking will produce more results and give you better clarity. You can record audio in most note taking apps.
Thx❤
Where can I find the details on the metal tip for the Apple Pencil and the magnetic screen protector?
Link is in the video description. Let me know if you don’t find it.
Brandon, I am a senior and I am watching you because I want to learn. Are there written instructions/possibly a book. By the time I find the icon or button you have moved on. Thank you very much, Linda
No we don't have a book on this, however you can turn on close caption and read through the instructions too. That might help.
You can also pause video and when ready hit play button to continue
I have a google sheet i would like to import or add to the end of my planner. Is that possible? Will the formats still work if it is possible. Thank you for such an informed video - I am new to goodnotes 6 and digital planning.
With the planner, you could do this a couple of ways. The way that is probably best is to create a hyperlink to the google sheet. This way when you click on the link it will open your web browser and you can edit/view the google sheet.
@@bodendorfer thank you so much for responding. I will you tube how to create a hyperlink - I am technically challenged and old lol
@@andreadegraff4417 We cover how to create hyperlinks in this video.
Great video. Can I buy the planner anywhere?
Thanks for your interest. you can find the planner here: brandenbodendorfer.com/goodnotes-digital-planners-shop/
The personal edition starts at $29
how do I protect notes or add password?
I want to annotate pdf's. How do you actually read the pdf's? The margins of the pdf's take up so much room - is there a way to crop them? I don't want to have to enlarge each page as I'm reading, I just want to crop one time _ as Goodreader does.
How to use columned paper. How to move on to next column when end of page
I'm curious on the magnetic matte screen protector. Wont dust pose a problem when it enters in between the screen and the magnetic protector, leading to more scratches on the actual screen?
It's a good question and one I was concerned about. However, what I have found is that if you wipe your screen, it's not an issue. When you apply the screen cover, there is some kind of ripple technology that acts like a vacuum, sucking the cover to the glass. In fact, it takes a slight tug for the cover to come off. If there were gaps, I imagine that would create a writing issue.
@@bodendorfer thanks for this! Btw, nice video! 💪
@@kennethkylesadanguil6791 you are welcome.
I have goodnotes 5. What are my options for going to 6? Can I purchase as one time or does it have to be subscription?
GoodNotes 6 is now a subscription. You can try it for a week and if you don't see the improved features as a benefit you can switch your notebooks back to GoodNotes 5.
No you can purchase it one time
@@Lightyagami058 thank you. Now I’m confused though. I had another response that says it’s subscription only now. 🤷♀️🤷♀️
@@Lightyagami058 No, GoodNotes 6 is a yearly subscription: Here is the pricing, www.goodnotes.com/pricing
@@bodendorfer wrong I just bought it yesterday one time purchase.
how do I make my calendar look like yours with 2 pages on each screen in landscape?
The planner is located on our website. Key2success planner. Here is the link: GoodNotes Planner Shop: bit.ly/3qcxjSu
My biggest stumbling block in utilizing Goodnotes more is that it’s not possible to electronically move/transfer my calendar to Goodnotes.
It's actually not a stumbling block. It's just a way of thinking. You electronic schedule is just that a schedule. It's not a planner. You can't take notes and outline your thoughts or ideas in a google calendar invite. With a planner you can vision, plan and set out on the actions steps required. I find that taking a few minutes each day to manually sync the two is been one of the best productivity hacks of my life. Gives me the opportunity to understand the importance of each event in my calendar and make myself self invested in it. Also at times, I realize that I my time is not required.
Can I record the screen while writing & save in MP4 format?
yes you sure can.
@@bodendorfer Thank you. You have been kind.
Hey Branden I have a question I have problem with using my iPhone and windows -
"I have downloaded GoodNotes on my iPhone and on my Windows PC. On both devices, I have logged in with my Google account, but they are not syncing correctly. When I upload a document on my iPhone, I can't see it on my Windows PC." Can you help me?
GoodNotes with windows is just beta and it doesn't sync with IOS version at this time.
Will the planners work with Good Notes on a android tablet
It will work with GoodNotes and android app is still in beta at this time, but it been working for several people.
what planner are you using from the Market Place?
It is the Key2Success Planner. It is not available on the Marketplace of GoodNotes, because of the fees that GoodNotes charges. You can find the planner on our website: GoodNotes Planner Shop: bit.ly/3qcxjSu
Hi, how can I get the template you used in this video
You can find the planner here: GoodNotes Planner Shop: bit.ly/3qcxjSu
I enjoyed your video But you should include how to get the daily planner because I was looking for it for 6 months and just a minutes ago that I was looking at a wrong place and on top of that there's a fee So before Doing a video like this again you should include how to get the planner and that there's a fee attached to it
The link to the planner is included in the video description. This video is here to teach how to use GoodNotes 6. You can learn more about the planner at www.key2successplanner.com
Please do (Jnotes ) it's for Android
cheese break is sooooo wisconsin of you 🧀
UK does Tea. We do cheese!
can Good notes be used with android?
there is a beta version, but honestly at this point, I would not recommend using it on Android. I would suggest that you look at either Penly, Onenote or Samsung Notes if you have a Samsung device. We have videos on each of these? Which device do you have?
What planner is that
The planner is the Key2Success Planner and it can be found here: GoodNotes Planner Shop: bit.ly/3qcxjSu
🎉
2:36 why the hell did u change camera, how will I know now how to get the planner
The planner is available here: GoodNotes Planner Shop: bit.ly/3sh0PHD
I wonder why you stop using Z fold.
Personally - I still use the Fold daily. I use onenote for my personal planning.
Goodnotes tutorial using Penly notes. I do not know if it was intentional or someone like a writer goofed.
I have a video showcasing Penly Notes, but this video is all about GoodNotes 6. Let me know if you experience otherwise.
Great tips but too much focus on a daily planner. Was hoping Goodnotes had the ability to create tabs within a notebook. Goodnotes is more than a planner
You can use GoodNotes for a lot of note-taking applications. However, the app is a cornerstone for those who want to digital plan.
@@bodendorferI’ve never used Goodnotes for planning……is amazing for writing notes and working on PDFs……it never occurred to me to use it with a digital planner, not sure is the cornerstone for people wanting digital planning when the reminder and calendar apps in iOS and the equivalents from google are amazing and very practical for planning.
Extending prayers of peace and comfort during this incredibly sad time. May love surround Sean’s friends . Peace. God Bless!
Hi! I have created an extension for PowerPoint that allows automating the process of creating planners, specifically hyperlinks in the planner, hyperlinks for Apple Shortcuts, changing the color of elements, and much more. I suffered for a long time while making planners and tried to create a tool that would make the creation process much easier. Link to the extension video overview: th-cam.com/video/HvvHhBS_l0U/w-d-xo.html
so not free! got it
It's not free; however, the program is well-supported. The fee really is small when you compare the quality of the app.
Why did they have to move to a subscription system??? 2024 starting off in the bad place
I think it hard for companies like this to continue to provide a great product without some kind of ongoing income stream. I think I would rather have a subscription, and see on going updates, vs having a new app every few years.
That app costly$30.00 dollars
If being 5% more productive each week means gaining an extra 100 hours a year, that's 100 extra hours to investat is that worth? For many people, it could mean earning tens of thousands of dollars.
Goodnotes for Android is garbage!!!
At this stage it is indeed. I would suggest Penly or Samsung Notes. We have videos on both on our channel.
