Sorry bro, but using the word Afghani is 100% correct, even they call themselves Afghani. For eg- One belonging to Pakistan is called Pakistani, bangladesh- bangladeshi, nepal- nepali, Hindustan- Hindustani. That's how we native peaople refer each other. I can personally confirm this as I belong India and have met a lot of people from these countries.

We live in two different worlds , one is still a luxury life for stubborn kids and on the other side , the reality of life , they learn to survive without the basic needs also , they do the hard work only for two times food and to pay bills :) hope your boys in your place also see this reality and realise that how grateful and lucky they are :)
