i love these videos man!! especially with them being in the inland empire cause thats were im from! i also think its cool how weird you must of looked to others on the street with a video camera just walking around haha this is great stuff thanks!
living in fontana for the past 20 years and holy shit have things went through some major changes before i moved over here. sierra/foothill will forever be iconic to me growing and hanging out at that jack n the box after school. sick video man
Hi ! I am Brazilian, I live in Rio and am fond of old cars. Something I noticed in this video, not only in this one, but in several others from the 90's is that certain brands and models are very difficult to see on the street, Lexus (all models), Inifiniti (all models), Acura (all models), Mercedes (W140), bmw is mostly more common. Here in Brazil at this time, only the rich had money to buy this, I don't know how things are in the States. Very cool video, congratulations!
I love your videos man. Much thanks for these great memories. These were the good ol days I'm Fontana CA. And all Inland Empire. People wouldn't care if you recorded them or the police. It was peaceful. Now a days there's violence everywhere and drugs..
Yo this here is a dope document. I admire you for your efforts! Feels like a time machine. I moved here to this town next to the old Rock Honda in 2011 the town had already almost completely changed. And it still changed a lot these last 8 years.
Is that that super busy ARCO on Sierra and Baseline? It's crazy to see it being built. That might be the busiest damn gas station in the I.E. these days lol.
Man bro I was 8 years old and my family lived off of foothill and mulberry in a neighborhood called west heritage we lived across the street from a place called patio burger and it amazes me just to think that my life was unfolding right up the street from you as you were filming this good stuff bro thank you for the memories
Yo seeing the stater bros market on 1998 is insane 😭 I’m a 24 year old tattoo artist form central fontana, I think it’s so crazy I was only a year old during this footage .. time is an illusion, time is insane
What part of Fontana were you born I grew up on the North side but I don't claim the North I claimed the whole city the whole city is mine from hard times posse X3
By the time I’m watching this (2021) it would be SO COOL to do a side by side video comparison from the exact spot you’re standing in on all filming locations!
Joe’s Burrito little spot next to JACK IN THE BOX across from WIENERZTZEL in front of that bus stop is was really good. It caught on fire. Anyone know if they’ll be building up again?
At first I thought he was close to Valley Blvd because of the wienerschnitzel. But then realized that Flameboiler is now in that place. There is an IHOP and Burger King on the spot where it said "Inland bank". The 76 is now a Circle K. The Rite Aid is still there, the Jack in the box is still there and the stater bros. The 24 hour fitness is now planet fitness, the Edwards Theater is now Regency Theaters, the Toys R us is closed, obviously. Crazy how everything changes.
Lived off of baseline for the past 21 years, went to dr skinner for glasses as a child, I ate from the Burger King that wasn’t done being constructed yet on Sierra and foothill earlier today. This place is the definition of home to me, much love and gratitude 🙏
Just ate at the Burger King they were building at 20:22 last week (first time at this location), what a cool time to find this video. Anybody have any early video of the La Habra/ Brea region?
Before the 210 also right? Alright I have to laugh because of grew up in west Covina but went to fohi and lived in Fontana in the 90s so again, your videos give me flashbacks to another home town ❤️ I think I went to that stater brothers 🤣 And shopped at that toys r us at the end of the video
that gas station he’s at in the beginning of the video is literally right next to this new neighborhood that i live in now that was built a year or two ago wthhhhh. ahhhh and that retirement home (i think) at 6:09. also the building with the weird pointed tip 7:24
Do you remember what Orange County, CA looked like in the 1980s, I know places like Placentia, Yorba Linda, Brea, and Fullerton had oil fields. I want to see Yorba Linda, how it evolved from then to now.
$1.13 gal for gas in 1998 comes out to $1.70 gal calculating inflation in today's dollars. Great prices for the time now the prices are all over $3.00 average $3.30 that's twice as much which is terrible.

I wish someone did this with my hometown of Hawthorne California. Love living in Fontana and all its history but wish i lived here during a time where the population wasn’t too crowded.
Damn you guys are in my city I am from Fontana and a native born and raised in the inland empire my second city is on federal that's my dad's neighborhood those are the two best cities in the IE in my opinion!
You were vlogging before vlogging was a thing. Cool.
It really is impressive.
12/19/98 my daughter was 4 days old. Married my husband on Valentine day that year. 98 was a great year for me. Also had my 21st birthday that year
That's crazy because my son was 11 days old at this time. I turned 18 in September that year.
@screaming chivo boomer
Before 2001 these videos are national treasures.

i love these videos man!! especially with them being in the inland empire cause thats were im from! i also think its cool how weird you must of looked to others on the street with a video camera just walking around haha this is great stuff thanks!
Amen to this comment. 👍
Nobody would've thought it was weird, but they would've thought you were cool, and in really good spot financially lol
This is so cool! You were filming right down the street from where I live now
I still go to that post office and stater brothers
WSILF 6fiwo4 same
Same lol
Me too.
I wash my clothes at the little laundromat between the staters and the goodwill pretty much every Saturday
Grew up in Moreno Valley during this time. You never know how lucky you are until the time has come and gone. 😢 SoCal in the 90s was THE BEST!
living in fontana for the past 20 years and holy shit have things went through some major changes before i moved over here. sierra/foothill will forever be iconic to me growing and hanging out at that jack n the box after school. sick video man

I work at that Stater Bro’s and I used to go to that toys r us nothing has replaced it, and Sierra has changed a lot since then
I live a block away from Sierra and baseline. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
The gas station price sign is now LED. The trees planted near the sign have survived and grown.
I actually posted a before and after video of that gas station!
Lived off of baseline for the past 21 years, went to dr skinner for glasses as a child, I ate from the Burger King that wasn’t done being constructed yet on Sierra and foothill earlier today. This place is the definition of home to me, much love and gratitude 🙏
Lived in Fontana for 5 years, thanks for uploading

Yikes. Sierra Ave looks the same. It'd be another 6 years until I moved to Fontana, CA. I was only a year old during this time. Wow.

I enjoy these videos, because I very briefly lived in the Inland Empire from 1994 to 1995, and this totally takes me back!

Hey Gilbert how do you transfer the VHS files into youtube upload friendly format?
Roxio VHS converter software. The included dongle has RCA and S video inputs
Before there used to be nothing to do in Fontana. Now there's a lot to do, like a L.A metropolis .
It is crazy to see where the burger king, IHOP, and Albertos is today being constructed in 1998!
Damn you guys are in my city I am from Fontana and a native born and raised in the inland empire my second city is on federal that's my dad's neighborhood those are the two best cities in the IE in my opinion!

Speed was out and crystal was around 4-5 years in ..I was dealing with a few good people from fontana during this time .
Have you ever been to Phoenix AZ, Gilbert?
Ahhh yes, back when the 15 had hardly any traffic going south to Corona. Now, it's a parking lot most of the day lol.
