Did we miss something? One small fridge and no freezer, on an explorer yacht? Reasonably priced and well built i would think, some hits but some misses. Thanks for the tour!
@@MS-bh3uw -- is the boat _really _*_necessary?_* Of course it is! I mean it is a tiny tub with Jacuzzi jets - looks like could be great after a difficult grind on land or ice! An excellent craft. I'd add solar panels, update the radar screen perhaps? And for the extravagance of the bath/jacuzzi, I'd want a watermaker... But I do like the stern shape it's a great design.
Hi John, that canoe stern really sets it off. As others have said it needs upgrades to refrigeration and bulk storage to make it more independent for longer trips. Otherwise its spot on. Cheers DougT
If that 3000nm range @ 10 knots is accurate. then that is quite amazing. Dial her back to 8 knots and you're probably looking at 4000nm's. To put that in perspective, the Nordhavn 55, which is a similar length (although 40% extra displacement), has a range of 3000nm @8.25 knots....but her fuel tanks are more than double that of Rosephine. Between those fuel savings and her price to buy, Rosephine should be a serious contender.
The cutest little ship I have ever seen. I just love steel canoe hulls. I'm not a fan of over sized looking speed boats. I don't usually like fly bridges but this one is compact and does not look like a pimple on a pumpkin. I would have even been happy with a single engine on this little ship. I grew up in Hull England and most of the big steel Trawlers that ventured into the North Sea only had one engine. I'm a believer in KISS.
Good use of space. They really got everything in there as much as they could. This would be a great cold water boat. Not so sure I would take it someplace tropical since those airvents look more suited for heat as opposed to AC cooling, but it is a smaller boat so it would probably cool down pretty well. These are the boats though I imagine going through the north sea around Norway, Greenland, Sweden and Denmark then going over the poles to make it down to Labrador off the coast of Canada
Almost perfect. Would place a chest freeze on the flybricge. Watermaker would certainly be nice. Boat has great range but seems like to stop at land every other day for supplies.
yeah, unless you can fish and have tons of dry/canned goods! The tankage is 'uge! (NYC accent). Decent range - make it a motor sailor to double the range - add some solar and two "large" deep freezers for the long passages!
Very charming old school flair! And everything seems to be in good shape! Some adds like solarpanels and a freezer and maybe a wingit kite system and it’s perfect!

P.S. Yacht Buoy: You need to slow down the video, move some things around AND open cabinets. This would prove the yacht's live aboard qualifications.. If an owner is selling a Yacht, he would probably be OK with you looking into a few things. You may need to give him/her a heads up, but it's all part of the Game. Overall: This is an Explorer Yacht at a very agreeable selling price. It will require upgrades to make it a Oceanic Explorer Yacht, though.
Beautiful boat, a home from home. She looks safe like with the advantages of yhe canoe shaped sterns. The unfussy looking exterior she maybe an older boat but she got a lot of potential for how her new owner wants her to look. Same with the interior simple classy looking wood and all the catering needs you may need.
She's a looker for sure. Was there a freezer on board? I'm just thinking that with a 3,000nm range, she's going to need more storage than the small (at least by landlubber kitchen standards) fridge in the kitchen! Also laundry?
I would say the only thing missing is a water maker but given the amount of work recently done it’s probably there already and I missed it. The Dutch are great engineers and here’s another example of their expertise put to very good use.
Need way more fridge/freezer space. Forward raked windows on the bridge would be better, but love the stern. You don't see boats with the canoe sterns anymore. To bad.
Hey John, now there's a girl after my own heart!! Perfect size, steel construction, decent range and not a too stupid price tag!!! Thanks for showing her off!!
@@YachtBuoy John I have a question for you. I recently saw an Italian yacht made by Terranova with the model T85. She's capable of trans-Atlantic crosses listing her speed at 13.5 Kn and her top speed as 17Kn She has a mini Inace look about her and looks rather intriguing provided the cost in below say 5M Euros out the door. Hope you're doing well, take care - Dave
Dutch built, check ✔️. Well designed and thought out for easy functionality. I could see myself boating on the inner coastal and doing the great loop. How about island hopping in the Caribbean or Croatia? Great boat, worth every 💶 euro. Leave it the way it is.
She's a beautiful ship, but I agree with some of the other comments - if she's going to be a liveaboard explorer, I think she'd need some changes. Her range means you could be cruising for almost two weeks, but with that galley setup I don't think you'd have provisions for more than two or three days. I'd probably get rid of the dining area in the galley to put in a pantry, a freezer, and another fridge (perhaps also a chest freezer on the fly bridge). I would also badly want a washer/dryer somewhere on board. Most logical place for that would probably be where the day head is now, unless we wanted to pull that jacuzzi out and put in a more standard shower.
I love this boat. Were it within my power, I would be on the phone with the broker right now. 3.45 metres is 11 feet 4 inches. Regarding the fly bridge. I loathe direct sunlight and desire travelling to rougher places where a steel hull is advantageous, like Alaska, the North sea, etc., so I see it being aerodynamically enclosed against weather.
It's now 8/24 and it still appears to be for sale, at the same price. I was just casually looking for a possible "great loop" boat. With the draft, and height, this might work. I'm not an experienced boater. What concerns me here is the top side seems to be redone, making it look nice. But, the electrics, circuit panel, original dated engines and systems below deck concern me. Even the smallish cabins/quarters below are fine, and I like the steel hull. But I don't want to buy a "project". I'm just afraid this is too much of a project for me. I would do the same thing if I were selling it. It has good bones. Best luck! Peace --gtr
Beautiful boat. I would have preferred a wider saloon and one less exterior walkway plus internal access to the flybridge. Do you know the make of the boat seen through the starboard windows at 6:28? Thanks for the video John!
Love the look, but so many drawbacks. Aft cockpit way too small for relaxing, only outdoor socializing space is on un-shaded fly bridge. Access to fly bridge is via steep ladder -- try climbing that holding a plate of sandwiches in rolly seaway! Interior is nice but only one small refrigerator is way too limited for living aboard or long cruises. I did not see two critical pieces of equipment in the engine room -- stabilizers or air conditioning compressors. That soft-bilged, canoe-stern yacht will roll gunwale to gunwale in a beam sea. No A/C limits usage to Scotland north. Enjoyed the video, but thanks but no thanks on the yacht.
Beautiful boat. But needs more fridge and freezer space. Also not sure you can call it an explorer with a glass top cocktop that a pot will slide off on a 5 degree angle.
I think you've found the problem She's a great little boat but thats exactly it, for a 3k mile range she has no room fo4 a decent tender, jet ski, etc for when you get to those exotic destinations...
A very beautiful boat but i have 5 comments. 1. Where is the fridge? 2. Where does the anchor chain go through the hull? 3. Does it have a washing machine and tumble dryer? 4. I personally think that the position of the top helm is a waste of deck space. Why not putting it in forward on the deck to utilise the whole upper deck, because if you put the dinghy on top there is no moving space and last, I cannot understand why boat builders put the master cabin forward in the hull. This is where the most movement is at sea.
Does this have the range to reach Hawaii from the west coast of the USA at economical cruise accounting for reasonable weather including headwinds and chop? If a storm suddenly brewed up, should we have gotten our wills in order prior to departing?
As nice as she is, there is a long list of modifications that need to be made: Stabilizers (100k), additional cold storage and minor mods to kitchen (20k), remove day head and make laundry (15k), add water maker (8k), and the upper deck??? I don't see a way to fit anything bigger than a 10ft dinghy (10k), solar and LiFePo4 batteries (25k), the dinghy itself (20k). Swim Platform or way to board from dinghy (20k), that's a lot of work, and to make a platform look decent on a canoe stern requires more design skill than I have.
someone kindly explain the light green e glass throughout the vessel and contrast with the dark glass seen on other boats. why this glass as opposed to the other typed of tint or smoked glass. i see this green glass almost exclusively in the UK and from there to points north and east.

Its a great looking boat and in great shape. Fly Bridge is way too far back. It needs to be moved up like 10 foot. You can barely see the bow.
