yeah, just did mine. the tool kit for the bike comes with a tool to remove the spark plugs. i just used 1/4 in drive tools and 1/4 to 3/8 adapter. 5/8 spark plug socket. took seat off for rear. didn't have to touch anything else at all. didn't look in the tool kit until after I was done haha...

Was able to do a plug change without removing tank. Took the bolts out and loosened the tank to shift it when needed. Otherwise did all this and swapped them in less than 30 minutes.

I have a 2000 vn 800a and like you I remove the plugs without removing the tank. I didn't even have to loosen the tank, just take the seat off. In all honesty it took me about 15 minutes.

Very helpful and informative in the statement.. "Dear Kawaski what the f*** was the best thing that I've heard all day. Laughed hysterically

Just to confirm that, with using the spark plug wrench tool in the toolbag, I was able to change both sparkplugs without removing or loosening the tank.
Getting the rubber socket thing was a tad fiddly, but far from difficult.
The seat had to be removed in order to access the rear spark plug.

And I have never changed spark plugs before, so it is also very doable for newbies. :D

U take the plug out by using the coil itself unscrew the plug and plug the coil back in and suck it out thats how i do it but ur way seems to work too

You know for that front plug u coulda just moved to the other side of the bike right? It's alot closer. You don't even need to do all that with the tank. Loosen up the bolts scoot it out the way a bit. Drop ur socket down....and use the boots themselves to pull it out, unless you have a magnetic spark plug socket...pretty simple job
