    Saved time, money and now my RL looks great inside! I was able to follow the simple instructions and your time saving advice helped make this DIY project far easier and pain-free. I used medium binder clips instead of clamps and they worked fine. Thank you for posting!

    After 6 years since your upload video. Now I purchased it on Amazon for $11.00, and follow your steps to make my acura look new again inside. Thank you so much 😊.

    Jon, thanks so much for this instructional video. I am a 63 year old woman, and I was able to replace my center console cover with a new leather one in no time flat, thanks to these easy instructions. (I must admit that I was at first stumped by the fact that there were no visible screws in the first plate!!) Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate this!

    Great video, thank you! I purchased the replacement covers, if they weren't leather they sure looked like it, unlike the original Acura garbage. I contemplated re-covering them myself, ended up paying $40 to have a local shop do it, it was money well spent. They put new foam in, top notch job. The tips on putting it back together were much appreciated, thank you!

    Excellent video explaining how to repair the center console leather. Acura should have used Better leather on both the door armrests and center console. This video will save you several hundred dollars. Thanks much.

    Looks great. can you believe that acura used cheap vinyl on their top of the line car?
    what kind of foam would you recommend if I were to replace the original foam? it's kind of flat. I looking for a foam that will withstand daily use.

    • @JONSDIY
      @JONSDIY  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniel, I agree 100%. I paid a lot for this car and the last thing I expected was when they said leather interior that they just meant the seats. I'm sure you can get some thin foam at Jo Ann Fabrics/Hancock Fabrics that will be thin and cheap. You don't need it to be very thick. It might change the look or make it look bumpy if its too thick. Hi Jon, instead of spray adhesive, can I use superglue? I've a lot of it. Thanks.

    • @JONSDIY
      @JONSDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no idea. Not sure what it would look like on the large surface area. But it sounds like it would work for the wrap around areas.

    • @oldporkchops
      @oldporkchops ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JONSDIY Got it. Did you spray any spray adhesive on the large surface area where the arm actually rests? Or just on the edges?

    • @JONSDIY
      @JONSDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@oldporkchops yes I did it there too

  • @HDNBenjamin
    @HDNBenjamin 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    is the adhesive on the armrest side where the foam is not needed? I didn't see you spray the adhesive. thanks.

    • @JONSDIY
      @JONSDIY  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ben Nguyen You are correct. You want it to be able to slide around a little when you are pulling it tight. I did not apply any on the side where your arm would rest. Jon

  • @clack185
    @clack185 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm probably going to end up doing this to my RL, the only problem is my arm rest's foam is completely flattened. Do you have any idea where I could get some new foam from? Does it matter what foam I use?

    • @JONSDIY
      @JONSDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would recommend completely removing the foam and doing it without the foam but if you want to add a little thin layer of foam you can buy it at Michaels arts and crafts

    how do you trim the corners? They're bulging out.

    • @JONSDIY
      @JONSDIY  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right around 3:53 in the video you can see that I pull from the corners first. Then directly beside the corners to make the corners as flush as possible. If you have to much material don't be afraid to trim it back a bit where the material over laps. Just be sure not to cut to much where you can't pull it all the way over the edge without your cuts showing. Thanks Jon
