  • Welcome to our informative video on kidney function tests, where we dive into the essential aspects of assessing your kidney health. If you've ever wondered about the importance of serum creatinine, serum albumin, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and urinalysis, then this is the video for you!
This video provides easy to understand animated medical overview of renal function tests (RFTs). Renal function test is another name for kidney function test (KFT).
This video titled "Kidney Function Tests Explained" provides in-depth understanding of key tests for kidney function including serum creatinine, serum albumin, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and urinalysis. We have also discussed kidney function test normal ranges for each of these tests. Kidney function test interpretation has also been focused and this video provides information about normal ranges of creatine, and other important chemicals and how to interpret there variation.

In 2022 i started experiencing severe body inflammation, reacting to foods, pains at kidney area but labs and scans couldn't find the cause, after research i started adopting low carb, Protein diet which seems to improvemy symptoms...
Current labs show WBC, HAEMOGLOBIN are constantly low, low magnessiym, Hba1C 5.4%, Bp 99/50 and EGFR constantly dropiping from >100 now 86.
2024 But still Doctors can't figure out what's wrong with me...
Sleep issues, Weight and muscle loss, reacting to food etc
Any suggestions? Could it be CKD? Autoimmune Disease?

I'm sorry you're going through this. Based on your symptoms and lab results, a few possibilities could be considered:
      Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD):
EGFR dropping suggests possible kidney function decline.
Kidney pain and abnormal blood pressure could be related.
      Autoimmune Disease:
Symptoms like inflammation, food reactions, and low WBC may suggest autoimmune issues (e.g., lupus, rheumatoid arthritis).
      Nutritional Deficiencies:
Low magnesium and low WBC could indicate malabsorption or inadequate intake.
Low carb diets might lead to deficiencies if not balanced.
      Chronic Infections:
Persistent low WBC could point to a chronic infection affecting your overall health.
      Adrenal Insufficiency:
Symptoms like low blood pressure, fatigue, and weight loss might indicate adrenal issues.
      Suggestions:
      Comprehensive Evaluation:
Consult a nephrologist for kidney health.
See a rheumatologist for autoimmune testing.
Consider an endocrinologist for adrenal function and metabolic concerns.
      Nutritional Support:
Work with a dietitian to ensure balanced intake, possibly reintroducing some carbs if appropriate.
      Monitor and Manage Symptoms:
      Track symptoms and labs regularly.
Consider anti-inflammatory diets like Mediterranean or low-FODMAP if reacting to foods.
      Holistic Approaches:
      Ensure good sleep hygiene.
Manage stress through mindfulness or therapy.
Early and accurate diagnosis is key. Seek specialists and insist on thorough investigations to get to the root of your issues.
