I know you’ve discussed not having a property this size of you didn’t have your TH-cam channel, but let me say …. The Lord knew the world needed a little “Hey guys how’s it going,” in our day. Thank you for all you do to inspire us!! Love the new additions. The transformation of your property is phenomenal. Be blessed! 🪴🌸
That was the coolest thing when you were tossing the little plants towards the holes and some of them went right in. My brain imagined a little cartoon version of the plants being sentient and going "weeee!" Into their new homes 🤣
"I forgot to put biotone in all the holes!" If I had a dollar for everytime I have said that, I wouldn't be that much richer because my garden is not that big and and I don't plant as much, but it has definitely happened to me several times😅. Love your videos guys keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍
I have to say this has been one of my favorite videos. I loved the clean up/dead heading part. And the pruning. The running discussion you do of how, what and why is so enlightening. I’m so excited to see you adding ground cover. And the “oh my gosh I forgot the Biotone” was exactly me. Thanks so much.
I really enjoy watching you. You create a garden worth a royale seal of approval except that your garden is created with the knowledge of your hands and the love in your heart for you, your family and us, the world behind the screen to enjoy. Thank you for letting us be part of your beautiful world.
Hi Laura! I’m a new gardener without a clue but…because I have similar plants in my garden I know exactly what to do and when to do it simply by the immense amount of education from your videos. Thank you! Throughout this pandemic I’ve gained so much knowledge and… PLANT THERAPY IS REAL☺️
Beautiful plants as well as your gardens and absolutely love dahlias and , so funny when you said ewww a spider web I put my finger in that but let’s see what’s in it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I noticed that, too😆. I ALSO noticed that my girl seldom wears gloves. Why dear?? I used to go bare hands cause I love the feel of the soil on my hands……butta not any more. Got tired of my hands getting cut up🪴🌱🙄
What a satisfying episode Laura! Everything is filling in so nicely and you've added some pretty exciting perennials! That vista of you planting in front of the North Pole arbs and looking straight ahead into the vegetable garden and the focal point of the urn in the center was classic! Thanks so much for this video!
This was such a relatable video. I think we all have unplanned flats and those random onsies and twosies we couldn’t help but pickup. To spend a day focusing on those unplanned plants is a great idea. And I think we all were asking about the bio-tone in the beginning. Great job Laura!
You plant so much. It must be so expensive. But it’s all so pretty. I’m hoping after some time watching your videos I will understand more about gardening.
Love your beautiful gardens and watching how quickly you get things done. I would love to see a video montage of all the plants you grew from seed, where you planted them in the gardens, and how they look at maturity.
I love how you added some maintenance footage, a bit of a mini garden update/tour in a planting video! Thanks for such a thoughtful/well rounded video! :)
I’m amazed you can find trays 12pk, 9pk, 6pk, of starters because we don’t have those here. When planting a vegetable garden we use to be able to buy multi packs now its each plant. We use Earth Boxes. Some Earth Boxes call for six plants and you if you can buy a six pack of peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, etc., It’s very economical. Now at $4.95 to $5.95 a plant it’s around $30-$36 an Earth Box and I have 45 earth boxes. Thats ot economical at all. I know they’re bigger plants however I’d rather start small and grow my own with a multi pack. Of course I’m talking big box stores like Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Walmart etc. that’s about all we have. We’re at their mercy. I love your videos. Very inspiring.
This video makes it very clear just how much rain you’ve gotten!! Usually when you auger there is a dusty plume that comes up, now you’ve got clumpy soil! Crazy!
Thank you for reminding us of the plant names where the "new additions" are being placed. When shopping at my local garden center, it is exciting to recognize a plant and have some understanding of its growth habit, beautiful flowers or unique foliage. 🌺
I am literally yelling at the screen “Laura, you forgot the Bio-tone!” Had to laugh at the look on your face when you remembered. I look forward to your videos every morning. They keep me motivated to work in own flower beds. I have adopted many of your techniques especially using augers for planting - my old arthritic knees are thanking you. I really like the variety in the videos from planting new plants, garden tours, helping our at the garden center to antiquing with your mom. Keep those wonderful videos coming!!!!
Bugs don't freak me out. I think they're fascinating. I would just be worried about getting bit. Everyone calls me to kill bugs for them lol. I actually kept a "pet" giant orb spider on my patio. I used to watch her every day. I was sad when she left.
I've been avoiding folding laundry, well because I prefer to be out in the garden. So watching you garden while folding laundry makes the task way less tedious. My family thanks you...
That is my favorite view in your garden: those roses over the arch with the weeping willow in the background and the arbs to the left. Such a romantic scene.
I love how when Benjamin brings Laura something, she never says "I don't need that, will you please put that back" She just takes it says thank you! I have always done this with my son for this reason... Ive learned that they just want to help- just let them feel like they've done that! It only takes a second to put back what theyve brought you! I do the same in the grocery store! I let my son put random things in the cart, instead of arguing with him over whether we need it or not, I just put it back when he's not looking... when he's a little older I can work on teaching him the things we jeed vs. the things we dont...
I loved the pace of this video ! A lot slower, really allowed us to take in the plants and see how long it took you. Felt like we were spending the whole afternoon planting and doing maintenance with you and less like here are the plants, let's plant them and all done. I understand it is not always feasible to take as much time. I appreciate the time it takes to set up the cameras on top of the usual stuff so thank you for that and all the nuggets of information you give throughout ! It does not go unnoticed :)
I watch a lot of vlogs and this one is the most consistent, timely and a good length. This is one reason why it’s so successful. Other vlogs I watch about other topics are spotty in downloading and length. I wish Aaron would take a bigger role as he is more knowledgeable in the nuts and bolts of the operation.
Laura, NEVER think we get bored watching you planting, even if I noticed that Espoma now adds Biotone to their “tone” fertilizers and I didn’t notice an increase in cost. It makes it easy to start plants off and keep them going for the season.
Everything looks so pretty.......you are a truly blessed family and always giving to us your viewers and garden maturity produce..God loves a cheerful giver. .
LOVED this video, Laura!!! I enjoy watching your videos before I get outside to start my gardening day, which is mostly maintenance. This was the perfect combo of short tours and planting, my favorites!!!
I can't thank you enough for all of the perennial and shrub maintenance tips. It helps me to know when and what do be doing in my own garden. Happy gardening.
I love ajuga! Growing up, our neighbor across the street had big mounds of it in her flower beds and it was just gorgeous. I remember asking her what it was when I was about 10 years old. As with so many other beautiful plants, I also decided then and there to have some in my garden. Thanks for the reminder to get moving on that. ~ Lisa
I always smile when you are appreciating the rain. We are in Western Washington state and have had so much rain this spring! I just get out in the garden anyway, I tell everyone " I'm not going to melt, I'm not THAT sweet ". 😉 Happy gardening everyone.... no matter the weather ☔🌬🌤⛅🌞☁️🌦
I truly appreciate how once Laura plants things, she name all of the other trees/shrubs/plants that are around what she just planted. It helps me learn the name of plants I’m not familiar with.
Wow even Laura forgets the biotone sometimes! The compost really looks so beautiful - excited for the Hartley garden 👏staying tuned for what's to come!!❤️👍🌱🌷🌺🌳
Thank you for showing the messy daffodil foliage! I have to deal with the same each year, it's nice to see everyone else dealing with it as well. I have such a big bank of it, I need to add more ferns to help hide the mess.
Laura - could you do another week of the maintenance videos - where you do one zone a day? That way we could see what the maintenance looks like in the early summer? Love your planting videos and the fact that you go over all the other plants in the area you just planted so we can be reminded of what is where. I get so many ideas from you.
To say everything looks wonderful would be an understatement! You have done such a wonderful job at planting these plants that it is no wonder that they are blooming. Laura, you are talented. A GOD given talent that I think, (hee hee) comes from your mother's side and it is awesome! You are also an awesome teacher! I am 61 years old, and I can say without a doubt that I have learned more from you in the last couple of years then I have learnt in decades about plants. THANK YOU! I can't wait for the end of the year, just to see how beautiful your garden has become. Thank you for you and yours and may GOD bless you and yours FOREVER!
I absolutely love ajuga. We planted some along our sidewalk several years ago. It was so thick and gorgeous near our magenta/dark pink azaleas. It was Easter weekend and a gorgeous show of spring color. They were chocolate chip ajuga, lasted several years, but they died eventually. Not sure what happened to them. I have a hard time finding the chocolate chip ajuga. Anyway, I absolutely love the variety you planted. 💕🌻 Thank you for sharing all things beautiful! P.S. Go cut those roses and make a gorgeous flower arrangement before the hail and wind comes. 🤷♀️💐💐
Hello I’m in California. I don’t know if they have any Armstrong garden centers where you are but that’s where I got my ajuga. They always have different types of it. Have a nice day
I've really enjoyed seeing how you have developed the westside garden. Bit by bit, year by year and it's filling in nicely and looking beautiful. You are an inspiration.
I really enjoy you showing us the parts of your garden that are looking particularly beautiful such as the elderberry and roses and even the roses that are loaded up ready to bloom thank you
So cute and so real when you realized you forgot the bio tone! I loved that so much because it is exactly something I’d do. Good to know better late than never on that! Thanks for being you! ❤
I have a suggestion for your spent daffodil leaves. I take a small handful and braid them, then curl them around (like a cinnamon bun) and feed the end into the curl so it stays in place. The small unobtrusive little piles can then brown up completely to feed the bulbs for next year without making the bed look messy. 🙂
The arbs look like giant fluffy green teddy bears!! So gorgeous! Watching you work in your garden feeds my soul. My schedule has not allowed me to do much in my garden this past year…but if I can just keep things alive, next year will be better, right? 💞
Your west side garden may be my favorite. Seeing you completely retool that area has given me confidence to “go for it” in my own garden. 🤩 What is your vision for the boxwood formation side of the west side garden? More “fluffy” plants? It’s so pretty!
Laura, I really appreciate that you do the garden maintenance chores when you see what needs to be done, instead of waiting until later to do them off-camera. I'm getting better at doing garden maintenance immediately before continuing with my gardening mission for the day. Because, for me, sometimes it's easy to forget about the garden upkeep until it looks like a hot mess. Have a wonderful week! ~Margie
Laura, I love the way you mix it up with videos. Short ones that emphasize design and plants then longer ones that focus on the plant growth habit and maintenance. The sharing of your knowledge and thought process is so beneficial and inspiring. Thank you.
For many years, about 10, I wasn’t able to do any gardening due to health issues. This past year, I had knee replacement surgery in September and to say it’s changed my world, is an understatement. This spring, I’ve begun to garden again! I missed it so much. I’ve started veggies and flowers from seed, made new flower beds…etc Everything I begin usually starts with, Laura does it this way and off I go. I’ve gained so much confidence in gardening because of this channel. I even planted potatoes, for the first time! Gardening to me is my mental health prescription. I feel better. I get lost in the process and not in my thoughts. Thank you Laura for brightening my mornings and for your positive attitude. I appreciate your desire to help everyday gardeners!
It is a pleasure to see you do the maintenance as you go, instead of just talking about doing it later, as some vloggers do. Week after week we see they still haven't done the maintenance, & I want to jump in & do it for them!
Laura - I watch and love all your videos, but this one was extra relatable. I loved the slower sections watching you do all the things that every gardener can relate to - pushing the mulch away from the soon-to-be-dug holes, rotating a plant to get it *just* right, stepping back to look at things from a distance, making decisions on the fly, cleaning up beds.. Also, not only planting/showing PW plants. I get so inspired by your videos and often try to look for the plants you use. A lot of my local nurseries near Seattle carry some PW, but not a lot, and it's so helpful to see you using other brands and varieties. I also loved how you showed that a lot of the time plants from the nursery don't look amazing up close and need a little TLC. Thanks for all the work you do to make your channel great.
☕️Good morning everyone! So fun to hear you will try ground covers, Laura. I got hooked on them years ago when I set out my fairy garden displays. So fun! I’m enjoying my coffee with all of you this dreary morning in Michigan. Happy planting everyone! 💚🪴🧚🏻♂️
Good morning Dee! Same here. Finished first cup of coffee, cuddled up with my Maltipoo. Raining here in North Central Arkansas. I have a Little Henry Sweetspire and Sonic Bloom Wegelia that needs to be planted. I have some Little Bunny Grass seeds, so hopefully gardening this week will be fun. Have a wonderful week! 🌸🌻❤️

Perfectly said Jodie! Dittos from Mi!
Amen! Her channel is such a blessing to so many! ✝️✨💕
Honeybees and us cannot believe our luck . For the first ones is sustenance, food ,but for us is food for the soul.
Yes! To what Suzanne said- double ditto from MI!! 👋🏼😊
Right!!! They are such a joy to watch. Love this channel! 🥰❤️🙏
After all this gardening time, and all of these plants, it is lovely to hear Laura still sigh and take moments to love her garden and the views.
That was the coolest thing when you were tossing the little plants towards the holes and some of them went right in. My brain imagined a little cartoon version of the plants being sentient and going "weeee!" Into their new homes 🤣
LAURA!! The way you picked that egg sack apart, your street cred went up with me considerably. Tough chick! lol
Yalls home and garden is my inspiration 🥰 yall work so hard and are living the dream ❤
Thank you for filming so much of this in “real time” it’s nice to just follow along with you in your projects.
I really liked having no music in this video…. I like the silence and regular gardening noises!
I love it when you don't put music but just let us hear all the real sounds
I love the peace and quiet of a garden. If there's music I have to turn down the volume.
Yes, same
@@Gladys7477 I turn off the volume for music
You live the life I have dreamed of!!! Your contribution and knowledge is wonderful!

“Ew there’s a spider web on the back and I touched it” *proceeds to get right in there and pull it apart with bare fingers* 🤣 you kill me Laura!
bahaha I screamed ew, and had to show my whole family...they all laughed too
so grossss was thinking the same hahaha
So GROSS! I had to skip forward...

I thought, I wonder why she's not putting bio tone in the holes? Lol beautiful additions. 😍
I thought the same thing! I laughed when she spotted the bags in the back of the Gator 😆
LOL, I noticed too! That is funny. I always forget too.
I noticed that, too😆. I ALSO noticed that my girl seldom wears gloves. Why dear??
I used to go bare hands cause I love the feel of the soil on my hands……butta not any more. Got tired of my hands getting cut up🪴🌱🙄
I noticed too but thought maybe because they’re annuals.
Honestly, i was like it's this not needed anymore or did she forget lol
Laura you give us the strength to just cut away at a plant, so that it has ability to put on new growth. Thanks for the encouragement!
Pruning, thinning and deadheading are all essential. It's better for the plant anyway.
Im loving that your channel is all about botanicals, gardening, thrifting, and now Arachnology! You are the best!😊
Ok, I’m sold. I will be getting those Collette roses. Absolutely gorgeous ❤️
What a satisfying episode Laura! Everything is filling in so nicely and you've added some pretty exciting perennials! Nice to see the gardens grow year to year. I love the new gardens but seeing your older gardens also given me such pleasure.
Love when you take us along for some basic maintenance and just popping random things in the ground. Everything is looking so pretty.

Hello Grace how are you doing
I am literally yelling at the screen “Laura, you forgot the Bio-tone!” Had to laugh at the look on your face when you remembered. I look forward to your videos every morning. Me too
Laura you crack me up!! The way you just plop those plants down in their new home. Thanks for bringing a lil joy thru your channel.
I really admire the courage you must have to touch those eggs!!!! I would have jumped up to the new property... 😁
I would have put a For Sale sign up on my house - spiders are just so gross.
Bugs don't freak me out. I think they're fascinating. I would just be worried about getting bit. Everyone calls me to kill bugs for them lol. I actually kept a "pet" giant orb spider on my patio. I used to watch her every day. I was sad when she left.

I'm pretty much a drift of one planter myself 🤣
Good morning everyone! Have a great Monday!
All your hard work has been so so worth it. The gardens are beautiful! Please do more videos on maintenance.
I am always amazed watching Aaron spread seed or lawn fertilizer...Looks like he doubles recommended amount...Result is a thick lawn carpet...Wow!
LOOOOVE this type of vlogs!!! Less music, more nature, just REAL life! 💓💟💓
I agree. Listening to the Robin's sing during the light rain was really lovely ❤️
I really enjoy the slowed down videos. It’s easier to see in detail what you’re doing, and a more relaxing pace too.
Love that you are part of the “DIN DIN” club “Do It Now, Do It Now” deadheading and cleanup needed doing and you just did it. 🎉

This past year,
I had knee replacement surgery in September and to say it’s changed my world, is an understatement.
This spring, I’ve begun to garden again! I missed it so much.
I’ve started veggies and flowers from seed, made new flower beds…etc
Everything I begin usually starts with, Laura does it this way and off I go.
Hello June how are you doing
Your garden 🪴 is so beautiful 😻!!!!
Ok I consider myself pretty ballsy with spiders but Laura is made of steel. Ain't no way I'm picking it apart like that
Love how honest you are. Completely open about how to fix after the fact of bio tone.
Neighbors r lucky to view such beauty....
I have found peace in the garden. above all the rest, this was key in my life. god bless everyone. happy gardening.
I think it's so funny how most of us are watching Laura's videos drinking our morning coffee. I do it every morning.😁
If we put in ground covers how would you mulch for winter protection? Wouldn't that mulch kill the ground cover ?
@@Gladys7477 No the mulch doesn’t kill my ground covers. It isn’t applied as thickly around them. The leaves and flowers grow through.
