@@johnalexander7457 dude absolutely, I’m brand new and trying to learn the armies is rough for me, having not one but two hive mind enthusiasts is super goated
I´ve had some good success with that detachment in my local hobby club so far. i run 2 squads of 6 warriors, and use my 2 maleceptors that are in my list as well as shields for them until i get them where i want them to be protected from most of the shooting. plus, in meelee they also profit from the maleceptors aura and last a little bit longer. i usually block 2 of the objectives in no mans land with this tactic, and it served me pretty well. they hold long enough to get a decent advantage in primary, plus 3x10 squads of gargoyls score enough secondary to be good in points when they eventually do die.
Thanks for the warrior tips! I just started Warhammer with a combat patrol league that started in October. My local game store is staring a slow grow league (start at 500pts for first few weeks then grow 250pts every two weeks). I am planning a Vanguard detachment at 500pts with a 6model unit of Warriors and Prime so this info is very valuable!
Great details. I would like to get some of these guys to go with my two winged Primes. I do wish they were more durable outside the Tyranid Warrior list, but that list also has some great strengths beyond warriors. Pepperoni is my favorite topping, but ideally I get the supreme (meat and veggies).
I love running vanguard onslaught, I usually push one of my genestealer bricks( I have two broodboys, might pick up a 3rd…lol) Usually have my warriors coming in after cleaning up whatever that first unit couldn’t settle and watch my friend be amazed at how quick his units get ripped to shreds ! Might start holding them back more instead of trying to push them up so I can get my unit to survive a bit more…
built my first 1000 army out of these changes since 2nd, just got back in to it. 2 brood lords with stealers, Swarm lord with 3 guard, Prime with the enhancement Neuronode and warriors, and a Lictor.
For Assimilation swarm you can skip the biomorphology. Use instinctive defense. Being infantry they can hide in terrain better than a tyrant and the fight first massively helps their survival in melee (which tyrant and guard don't need nearly as much). I've played a lot of games with asswarm these past couple months and taking a chunk of a charge's melee keeps them around an extra turn or two. plus, they make a countercharge bubble since their volume of quality attacks makes players wary of their position.
They seem to be both ranked as equal. I've had way more success with Genestealers though. Scouts, faster movement, and inherent 5 inv save works better against my regular Dark Angels Gladius opponent. I haven't used melee warriors with the Warrior detachment though--the 5++ might be the key.
5+ FNP on warriors is amazing when you are getting hit with Damage 3 weapons. Can easily have one warrior tank 2 shots when it would normally kill 2 warriors. Also works well for D3 damage.
So i take 3 by 6 of them 2 of them have primes. 1 prime has the plus 1 to hit and the other with the stealth enchantment( the -1 to be hit also works for melee.) But the true star of my list is the one unit of vemonthropes giving my warrior's cover and stealth having a 3+5++ also -1 to be shot is so nice
This video makes me want to take my lictor hit squad out for a spin! Lmao (lictor deathleaper nuro lictor and 2 units of vons Ann grouped up so they can overlap heroics!)
Got a box of these for Christmas, this morning started looking up videos on how to best use them, then bam, Jordan made a video just for me
It is true! This video was made just for you. Merry Christmas, enjoy the warriors!
He’s the best I swear. Between him and
Malstorm gaming we’re very lucky to have them breaking down our armies and different strategies.

Absolutely! I love double malaceptor in that detachment as well. Good stuff!

Great insight in how to use melee warriors, great stuff!!

Does the 5++ Invul count as an armor save for their reroll ability?
Look at the wording on the datasheet.
It says re roll a save.
Rather than, re roll and armour save.
So yes, you do get it for an invulnerable save.

Which is better - melee warriors or genestealers and broodlord ? Want to try the new buffed assimilation swarm and thinking warriors as they cost more
I personally prefer genestealers, but warriors definitely have their place as well!

So I only own 9 warriors at the moment, sadly they are all ranged warriors at the moment. Are those any good to use in this detachment?
at the moment

They always wipe my deathwing knights, thanks I hate them!
I talked exactly about that! Lol
