Growing up, I LOVED Greek mythology. I didn’t even know this was coming out. Totally getting it!!
YESSSS!!!! If you have kids Percy Jackson is a GREAT book series with Greek mythology!
Now that I have a better understanding of the game mechanics of these monsters I love this game
Oh sweet!! Yeah it is a really enjoyable game once you understand how the bosses work! Thanks for watching!!
I believe monsters in play can still roll, even if they aren’t in a space with a hero. Let me know if I’m wrong, but I believe it comes down to the fact that certain monsters have Special Abilities that can affect the whole board
No they can only roll when they can attack. At least that is how I read the rules!
My impression was every player got a turn and then the monster phase went off..
I don't think so it is a monster pad after every player turn
Thanks Colin, really enjoyed the playthrough.
I keep thinking of getting Horrified.
Like the original for it's campy Hammer House of Horror vibes, like the US one with the goats and stuff, but I also like Greek mythology.
Would you say why you decided to let the first two version go, please? Was it that the replay value had diminishing returns?
Good question Paul! I think the biggest reason was that my kids weren't that into it, and I have plenty of games similar to this where it is a crisis management game. This one however has a theme that they will like (Percy Jackson) and is a tad more complex with the Liars etc. So right now this is my favorite of the bunch! Hope that helps!

Yes thanks, makes sense!
I forgot you mentioned Percy Jackson, my memory is so bad! lol
Talking of crisis management, I quite like the look of Defenders of the Wild, that Jason showcased last week.
There was also Exoworld Survival that reminded me a bit of Terraforming Mars, yesterday.
That would be a sci-fi game for my collection, but the second Dominion Wars expansion has just dropped in the UK and I can't have all three! lol
BTW have you played Star Trek Alliance: Dominion Wars yet, and will you be paying it on Meet me at the Table?
Thanks for the playthrough Colin. Horrified does have dcent replayability and this is no different.
Agreed thanks for watching!
Just a minor tweak. Cerberus has 5 door pieces. So the last one, with two blanks and a "!", are two separate pieces. For one you need two blanks, and for the other, you need just one "!" symbol. It's easier to roll, but it does require and extra item and an extra action to do so. So, the big doors require two actions (rolls) to open.
Oh really? Thanks for that I did not know!!
@@MeetMeAtTheTable I believe so. They even use that example in the rule book, for "player's turn" on page six. Also, it would be weird to have 5 door tokens, but needing 4 rolls. I mean, either way it's not game breaking :)
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Also, just did a quick search on BGG, and designer confirmed it, saying that the doors are two separate pieces :)
Perfect thanks!! So easier to get but more actions to complete it. Kinda weird how it looks though

My inner pedant says that the musician should have the Power of Apollo, since Apollo is the god of music. lol
The token on Cerberus's door is turquoise, Colin.
I agree though that the colours may be too similar and companies by now should be aware of colour blindness.
That should be the bench mark for differentiation as non colourblind people can confuse similar colours.
That is the color!!!! Haha yeah not sure on the color choice to be honest....
@19:46 I was thinking that the goat head of the Chimera required a token of each colour and not any 3, Colin?
Huh maybe? It has the same symbol as the lairs and they for sure are any items. So not sure!
I'm a bit late to the party, but it's any 3 tokens. As stated on page 6 of the rules ^^
Thanks!
The chimera lair tile shows how that would look I think.
EX
1[G]
1[B]
1[Y]
The 3 tile symbol is seen in several locations, it means any combination of the colors and the number being outside the box indicates a quantity of the tiles, not the strength of the tiles
There is no e between r and b in Cerberus
Oops!
It's more of a B-E switch what he did, probably due to "cerebral" being a common word (or "Cerebro" being Professor X's thingamajig).
You've got it!
Ok. Idk what's going on. Bairnt is playing euros and putting them on the channel, and now Colin is mispronouncing names. I feel the apocalypse is imminent.
Cerberus. No vowel between the r and b. So sir-burr-us not sir-e-brus.
Haha!! I always love mispronounced names! My favorite thing! Thanks Beerman for watching!!
AFAIK it should be Kerberus
I only know this because for many decades I've been saying Serberus and only more recently discovered that in Greek it's a hard C ie K, as with the Romans (thanks Liz Davidson!)
That means Sirsee should be Kirkay
But it's all Greek to me! lol
Should note that in English soft C is acceptable.
Haha well now I don't feel bad if there are multiple ways to say the name!!
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Oh man. The point was never to make anyone feel bad. I love you guys.
Hehe no worries beerman! Just being funny!!
Have you been playing a bit too much with the automa from princes of Venice? Your taking up it's habit of cheating. Yaking extra actions....😂 on a serious note tho, haven played horrified in a while but don't you have to block with items if you have them or lose them when you come off the board?
Hehehe!! No you actually don't have to and you don't lose items or perks! And yes somehow I decided I needed to make up for that last game haha!!
You can’t use your perk cards during the monster phase. You moved the Minotaur with a perk card before he had a second move and attack. Shame shame!!!
Oops!
the "greek" lettering is very hard to read if you can actually read real greek :/
I never would have known that!
@@MeetMeAtTheTable my brain is confused 😅
LOL - so true!
You CHEATER!!! hahahah, once I saw you pick that weapon up, i was like umm wait how LOL
Haha!!!
