Crazy landscapes, some views don't really look like that's our planet! Wo, wow, wow! Another great one, Sire! 🤗 And seeing the busses do their pothole-marathons I started wondering if any travel business from Iceland ever had the sense of humour to call themselves ThorTours.
It all started off so well, I was thinking, wow this is a great single track road, and then the cars coming in the other direction started to appear! What a glorious ride and a beautifully shot video. I am definitely going to sit down and watch this again in a short few minutes. Totally love this video. Your work is amazing and so is your country.
I am silent with amazement at the utter desolate beauty of Iceland, with every film you post it just keeps getting better. I'm now not able to travel far or hike any longer but your films make it feel like I am there, with you. You must have pretty good shock absorbers on your vehicle and a sturdy gimbal for your camera. I was surprised how busy the road was, despite the potholes. I do love the mix of the ground journey combined with the bigger overview from the drone, both together it really does feel as if I am there and, to be honest, I was so spellbound by the scenery that I hardly noticed the soundtrack! Thank you.
I am a fan of your country. I have already had the pleasure of visiting it. Your videos are so many good memories or discoveries, thank you for sharing all that with us, great job thank you Gylfi😊
Ya know it was funny. I'm at the 12:36 spot and I've gotten so immerse I keep wanting to looking into the rear view mirror to see how many people there are behind us! LOL. Now I've come to the end; that road was like yikes! and the traffic! I couldn't believe that many people were on that road. The music was perfect, that ride was fascinating and the drone views were excellent. I have had a simply wonderful time being a passenger in that journey. I hope we can all be invited again to another ride. Thank you for such a lovely time.
Bumpy roads in Iceland... I just pulled out the map where I traced my tour route back in 1984. We went from the ring road up to Eldgjá, and then west to Landmannalaugar. From the video, i would say that the roads have improved significantly over the past 40 years. The scenery was just as beautiful back then as it is today, though (apart from Ófærufoss in Eldgjá, which no longer has its famous arch, of course). Thanks for these touring videos - they are spectacular, and bring back so many good memories for me.
Wow. Took me back to my kid years driving in the isolated parts of the desert US southwest chasing thunderstorms, lifted the spirits - but even with so much other traffic to contend with, this was magnificent landscape every which way..... just Wow - and Thank You. PS I enjoyed the vicarious bumpy ride, too, ❤️ a driving challenge
Wow, Iceland is more beautiful than I ever thought. Must be a worry about running out of petrol though, there probably wouldn't be a signal to ring for help, if you run out or broke down.
I got to see it in early September, it's very cool to see that lava flow from above. Gives the hike perspective. And that road is BUMPY, but that's why it's awesome.
Fantastic video, thanks for bringing back great memories! In 1992, my friend and me hiked from Skogafoss first to Thórsmörk and then on to Landmannalaugar. From there we took a bus back to the coast road and I don't know how it happened, but our bus left the road and nearly ended up on its side. No-one got hurt and we all managed to get out and wait for a tractor to pull the bus back onto the road. We then continued our journey as if nothing had happened!!
Gylfi! You are the most careful driver I have the pleasure too ride with. And the scenerie. Just phantastic!! I love your country. The eather was good to you too! Many thanks. I enjoyed every moment❤❤
I once hiked in Island, and came through Landmannalaugar. Beautiful place and scenery, but somehow what I remember most was a lake around there with water so clear and still that I could not tell where the water edge was. It was so see-through that it was almost "not there". Amazing. Never seen anything like it.
Thank you so much for the care you take to show us the most stunning places in Iceland. I have become very fond of your country and it’s amazing landscapes and resilience of its people Stay safe on your travels 🇦🇺🦘🦘
One of the reasons we keep coming back to Iceland. Driving in to Landmannalaugar in a little Dacia Duster and walking some of the areas you showed in the initial drone footage was a highlight.
We did drive this very bumpy road in August this year and enjoyed every meter of the breathtaking views. Now your trip with beautifull weather and the splendid drone views makes it extra special! Thank you❤
Whenever I start to ponder on what the earth may have been before we spoiled it, I see such images of Island and I breathe better and everything seems right again, so I have alot of gratitude for these images! Thank you. Makes me wonder what people looked liked before we got all caught up in making ourselves look a certain way... blah, blah, blah. Thanks again for taking the time to make such things available for any who is looking! I cannot say Thank you enough! Takk fyrir! The music fits nicely, as well. I think you are creating a new form of tourism or something. 😊
Never felt a bump 😂 lovely smooth drive !!! If I'd been in the vehicle in front, I'd have been sick! Hoorah when it turned off. Amazing country. Thank you.
💕💕 Thank you so much. Totally stunning and amazing, Loved every second. Another subscriber here who is no longer mobile enough to visit and exp!ore. You are making it possible for me to fulfil a lifelong (a long life! ) dream, even though it is while sitting in my chair here in England.
I doubt spending thousands of dollars coming to visit from New Zealand, could match what you are showing us with your videos. The drone footage is just beautiful. I am in awe of your talent to capture what you do and the knowledge also in your other videos and heat seeking drones used . Wow ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Music was perfect. Scenery was just amazing. The light and colors and your excellent filming skills made it wonderful. With roads like this, I imagine vehicle repair for tour vehicles must be quite a lucrative business in Iceland. Thank you for taking us with you to see these wonderful sights! I'm always excited to see a new video from you and you always exceed my expectations!
The road reminds me of one lane roads out in the country in England. Pull outs scattered around. This is hypnotizing. I start watching the bus in front and .... I jerk bac to the present. Beautiful footage, gorgeous music and scenery to die for. THANK YOU!
Absolutely stunning scenery so so beautiful and with the perfect music Gylfi you really do live in a beautiful country. The drone flight looking at the lake at the end just blow my mind away, Thank you Gylfi.
I can't believe the coaches on the road , the drivers must weep for their suspension. Is there a graveyard for ex hire vehicles ? Stunning views ... shame the driver wouldn't see any of it. 😅
Your hood mounted steady cam does a remarkable job capturing the beauty of your country. If I may ask Gylfi, how long approximately does it take for the green growth to appear on recent lava formations along the road? Thanks again for taking us along your journeys.
Wonderful! Stunning! Breathtaking! I just love your videos Gylfi and the choice of music is perfect. Wishing you all the best from a very wet Herefordshire, United Kingdom. Oh and the roads here are about as bad as that one you drove on.
Those roads certainly are a bit bumpy, but the results of making the effort to drive down them are worth every bump. The scenery is stunning. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Once again you have given us a spectacular look at your amazing country. Iceland has become my favourite place that I've never visited, thanks largely to your footage and commentary. Thank you Gylfi!
Wow what a trip !! The scenery is just beautiful !! The lake was like a painting , so many colors of blues and greens amazing !! Thank You so much for this !!
Thank you, Alex, for giving Gylfi the incentive to make this and other similar videos, and thank you, Gylfi, for making this video. This does raise a question, however. Is it possible for handicapped people to hike? As a senior, using a walker I am accostumed to walking a mile or more daily. I don't see anyone who is handicapped in an obvious way out hiking in your videos. Is that not common there?
When I was a child, we drove from San Diego to Atlanta. The roads in Alabama were like this. I actually got car sick and waited too long to say something, and ended up throwing up on my grandma. It was the first time I heard her say any curse words.
@@schoolingdiana9086As was watching this amazing video, I was beginning to get a little green around the gills. My kid sister got car sick on our trips to Idaho in the summer to visit grandma. This was about every other year. My dad was in the Navy and was stationed in California. It was always home 🏡 for me.
Fantastic, intriguing scenery! Your poor vehicle, it must be difficult to fully appreciate the views when you have to watch the road so closely . Luckily you too can watch these great videos.
Awesome drive and drone footage with spectacular scenery. That was definitely a bumpy road full of potholes! Reminded me of the dirt road where I grew up after a rainstorm!
I thought that van in front of you was going to tip over! Def too tall for such a narrow wheel base, with the depth of those potholes. I can see why the potholes are so big-those big touring buses really do a number on dirt and gravel roads. Great road trip, Gylfi! Tusen takk for taking us along. ❤
Thank you so much for the wonderful drive!! I have not been able to do a road trip in my mountains for a long time and yours are just spectacularly beautiful !!! I look forward to your next delightful journey.
Great video Gylfi. Those roads look like Swiss cheese in some places and there are busses on them! I just watched a video of the volcanic moons of planets in our solar system and the surface of Iceland looks very similar. Your video really highlights how jagged and beautiful Iceland is. Thanks!
Gylfi, the beauty of the landscape (and your amazing footage) rewards the state of the road 😍 And the streets in my city are not necessarily in better condition. But they are paved. 🤣
Amazing Video. I love it. Thank you Gylfi for sharing this. It is a pity that this beautifull landscape is so overcrowded with people. I had been there two years ago. And there it was not as full as now.
Beautiful video! The drone shots are very helpful to give a more complete perspective on the area. Would be nice to draw the line of the road you took if possible in the drone view. The music works well for this video, except the sound of something like an Australian didgeridoo made me keep thinking about Australia that is about as far away as one can get from Iceland.

I’m running out of words to say how much I enjoy these videos 😊
Glad you like them 💛
Beautiful trip to take with you Gylfi...thanks so much!

I was glad you were driving. I would probably have fallen off the road because of the gorgeous scenery.

And yet the roads in Iceland are still in better shape than over here.
😂
One of the reasons we keep coming back to Iceland. Driving in to Landmannalaugar in a little Dacia Duster and walking some of the areas you showed in the initial drone footage was a highlight.
Stunning film work. The colors in the terrain was just amazing. Iceland must have a big demand for shock absorber replacements. Thank you. 🌞

Well, if that's the bumpiest road y'all got, then you doing pretty well. Thanks for the video.

Yet another quality video Gylfi- thank you. Just one observation- I will stop moaning about the ‘pot holes’ on UK roads after seeing this. 😉
I doubt spending thousands of dollars coming to visit from New Zealand, could match what you are showing us with your videos. The drone footage is just beautiful. I am in awe of your talent to capture what you do and the knowledge also in your other videos and heat seeking drones used . Wow ❤❤❤❤❤❤
When I was a kid (back n the 1960's) all our county roads in Northern Idaho looked like this. I miss those roads and now I know where to find them.
Such a beautiful drive. Would love to see some footage near the Eldga.
Breathtaking scenery, Gylfi. That road has a lot of stories to tell.
Music was perfect. Scenery was just amazing. The light and colors and your excellent filming skills made it wonderful. With roads like this, I imagine vehicle repair for tour vehicles must be quite a lucrative business in Iceland. Thank you for taking us with you to see these wonderful sights! In many trips to Iceland that is one place I never reached, but so many vehicles in places.
Many thanks for these clips
Many thanks for watching
The road reminds me of one lane roads out in the country in England. Pull outs scattered around. This is hypnotizing. I start watching the bus in front and .... I jerk bac to the present. Beautiful footage, gorgeous music and scenery to die for. THANK YOU!
The best armchair driving I know - thank you, Gylfi.
Thank you for another amazing video, the geological beauty of Iceland is stunning.
Absolutely stunning scenery so so beautiful and with the perfect music Gylfi you really do live in a beautiful country.
The drone flight looking at the lake at the end just blow my mind away, Thank you Gylfi.
Absolutely stunning scenery Gylfi. Its definitely on my places to visit list for my next Iceland trip. Takk fyrir.
Thank you Gylfi- lovely to share that; Landmannalaugar is so beautiful! One of my favourite areas; Look forward to your other videos.

Love it. A primordial landscape.
Enjoy :)
Beautiful! Also, as well as the land of ice and fire, Iceland is the land of the Dacia Duster!
I want to give more than one👍, so beautiful and breathtaking!
Those roads certainly are a bit bumpy, but the results of making the effort to drive down them are worth every bump. The scenery is stunning. Thanks for sharing it with us.
i can imagine being a road grader in Iceland would be quite a fun job. all those back country roads in need of a little work. would be epic
Beautiful Beautiful, one of my most favorite places. Look forward to going back.
Welcome back :)
Such a lovely place you live many thanks for this amazing opportunity to see more of Iceland 🇮🇸 much love to you Gylfi ❤ 😊
Very bumpy on the ground and breathtakingly beautiful from above! Thank you so much for sharing, Gylfi :)
Absolutely stunning, Gylfi. You make me yearn to re-visit Iceland so much!
We were there in July for 10 days, what a spectacular country. The people are amazing!
You had me leaning right and left…and my backside is sore from the bumps! What a beautiful video of such an unusual country. Best to you.
We can all see how much care and attention you give to editing these videos for us. Thank you, Gylfi.
Once again you have given us a spectacular look at your amazing country. Iceland has become my favourite place that I've never visited, thanks largely to your footage and commentary. Thank you Gylfi!

Perfect in so many ways.

Hi Gylfi,
Don’t worry, we’ll drive and drone along with you through these stunning landscapes; love it.
Greetings from the Netherlands.
Stay safe.
Absolutely beautiful country that you live in. Wonderful music. And those water reflections...Thanks Gylfi. Travel safe.
Just awesome thank you Gylfi.
Glad you enjoyed it!
How did you keep the camera so stable with all those bumps? Beautiful ride. Thanks for taking us!
Its a good camera :) it reduces the movements, DJI Osmo Action 4
Brilliant! Incredibly beautiful.
Enjoy :)
Stunning thank you for taking us along.
Thank you Gylfi for this fantastic short trip in the wonderful nature of Iceland. I'm getting wanderlust right now and want to be there too.
So schön dort❤️Dankeschön!🤗
The landscape is just awesome. Especially at this part 12:09, I could imagine driving there
Fantastic, intriguing scenery! Your poor vehicle, it must be difficult to fully appreciate the views when you have to watch the road so closely . Luckily you too can watch these great videos.
Loved flying my drone in Landmannalaugar, just a magic experience.
Awesome place :)
Hmm ,bumpy 💞but it makes you slow down and look around
👏👏and we get to see that lovely view from above
Thankyou Gylfi
Beautiful Iceland 🇮🇸, incredible 🎥 👌
I intend to get there one day. Thanks for maintaining the inspiration.

Perfectly stunning!

Wonderful video (FYI - except the longish bit behind the Swiss camper)

Looking at those roads... You Need a Flying Jeep... Instead of a Drone... another Epic Journey with Gylfi! Great Music too..

What an amazing road! I noticed what appeared to be tour buses too. Thanks, Gylfi.
Glad you enjoyed it! and yes it's the most popular highland destination, bit too popular perhaps
Wow! Simply amazing! Thank you, Gylfi for this unbelived show.
