    Good to see you back making great Canoe/Camping videos in Canada. Looking forward to Part 2 and more. Your style of adventure travel/canoe camping really resonates with me for many reasons. Glad to see you picked up a new canoe that is 25 lbs lighter. Keep the videos coming si vous plait. If you please.

      Thanks Michael! I appreciate it! The canoe made a huge difference! Some of the portages at the end of the trip were easily some of the most challenging ones I've ever been on! Thanks for watching!

      Thank you! The drone adds a nice touch. Once I'm home I always wish I used it more but battery life is limited.

      I have but just a little bit. In fact, my first ever canoe trip was in Algonquin park and it is what got me hooked! It is a stunning area but my heart lays a little further North in the true boreal part of Canada. The solitude is incredible! Thank you for watching!

    you kept saying it's tough hard work...why do it then? And who eats freeze dried when you can have Walleye?

    • @The-Dutch-Explorer
      @The-Dutch-Explorer  3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Good question!
      To your first question: If you thought I was complaining when saying it was tough and a lot of work, then that was a misunderstanding.I love a good challenge. Even though it takes a lot out of me, I immensely enjoy all the hard work that goes into and the toughness of a trip like this. The rewards are huge and it makes me feel so in tune with the land I'm traveling through. It gives you a whole new level of respect for these kind of wild places. I loved every second of the trip including all the hardships that come with it. In fact I probably would not like it quite as much if it didn't come with these hardships.
      To your second question: I do! Several reasons why I havent eaten fish yet so far into this trip. But I will tell you, I do eat plenty of fish later on in the trip.
      1-My meals were not just any freeze dried meals. They were mostly amazing home cooked meals cooked and prepared for me to have out in the wilderness by no one else but my girlfriend.
      2-At the start of a trip, that barrel weighs a ton!!! I like to eat as much weight out of it early on and get the weight down so it's a little easier on my back. Every little bit helps!
      3-If the days are very labour intensive and long, it is very time consuming to clean fish, cook and then clean everything that I used to cook the fish to minimize smells and not attract bears. So far most days I caught walleye on were the more labour intensive days.
      I hope this answers your questions! Thanks for watching!

      @@The-Dutch-Explorer never call it work because ...you are one of the lucky ones... and Walleye ...well is just hard to pass up! lol

      I don't associate the word work with anything negative. And the fact is, it does take a lot of work getting to some of these places! I feel very fortunate to be able to do these kinds of trips! If only I could do this full-time and did not need to work at a factory for the remaining 11 months of the year! Haha! Walleye dinners in the backcountry are amazing indeed! There will be some in later videos, I promise!
