- The lyrics in this song are very sad and I know loads of people who can certainly relate to them and I certainly do. I am sure all everyone ever wants or wanted is someone who will light their soul to make us feel good about ourselves and to be loved but life can be amazing but so disappointing too and you are stuck not knowing what to do. Life can be filled with sadness and wonderful times but is never easy. This song is a song that makes you think how you feel because no one's life`s easy, we all have stuff.

Supermode released their take on the song I thought knowing the original that they did a brilliant job. They still captured the power and message of the two Bronski Beat songs "Why" and “Smalltown Boy" without ruining the originals. This is why I thought I would mix some of the two songs together. Tell me what you think.

I still have the 12" single of Smalltown Boy. Music absolutely kicked ass back then!

In my early forties now, still listening to this. Reminds me of a better age. Tougher times perhaps, but less complicated. Amazing artists have a way of transforming complicated things to simplicity…
This has to be the best mix of this song I have ever heard. I love Tell Me Why and Smalltown Boy. The Supermode mix was killer. And this just made it even greater.

Probably one of my favourite song, one of my favourite versions. Such a deep voice … close to perfection.. yes this is pure genius.
Supermode (Axwell & Steve Angello) This is what I miss, I don't blame them for there success, they will always be amazing in my eyes. This is what made me fall in love with dance, I miss the innocent days, before these american airways made it "pop culture"

All hail the Yamaha DX7. Virtually every song they did involved this new breed of synth, as was back then.
The charts were riddled with songs using the DX7, from the classic bell like tones to the famous DX slap bass sound used on Aha, Howard Jones. Most groups who used it, just used the presets because it was a pig to programme, that why so many songs sound similar.

I know, the song is actually about something else, but it fits the mood just very well to my current situation. Today I lost again a seemingly good friend, until he suddenly showed his true face. For almost 2 years he just played with my feelings and took advantage of me emotionally. Today he revealed to me how mendacious he really is. A little more than a year ago exactly the same shit happened with another "friend". Now I'm rewriting this song into a version about broken friendships, where I always end up thinking one thing: "Tell Me Why...".

Ich weiß, in dem Song geht es eigentlich um was anderes, aber er passt von der Stimmung her einfach sehr gut zu meiner jetzigen Situation. Heute verlor ich erneut einen scheinbar guten Freund, bis er auf einmal sein wahres Gesicht zeigte. Fast 2 Jahre lang hat er nur mit meinen Gefühlen gespielt und mich emotional ausgenutzt. Heute offenbarte er mir, wie verlogen er in Wahrheit ist. Vor etwas mehr als einem Jahr hat sich genau die selbe Scheiße mit einem anderem "Freund" abgespielt. Nun schreibe ich dieses Lied um, in eine Version über zerbrochene Freundschaften, bei denen ich mir am ende immer nur eins denke: "Tell Me Why..."
