No, you just have to play this game once to understand how good he is. This game is hard as hell. I'm decent at best. I'm struggling a ton with this level on Hurt Me Plenty. Hundreds of deaths, and hours upon hours of time put into it. He just beats it in 36 minutes and slaughter the demons like it's nothing.

The electric bars next to the monkey bar in the one circular arena with the two switches that carries you down was cool because you have to think about where the hazards are and when it’s safe to use that monkey bar for air time
Zero master has defied logic in old-school doom. Any doom content should be at most a slight challenge to my guy haha. I thought I was a good old-school doom guy till watching Decino and zeromaster lol

This man’s skill is quite literally unmatched. The types of plays that he consistently makes are nothing short of incredible. This is literally what the Slayer does in his free time on his PC in the Fortress of Doom, and no one can convince me otherwise lol.
he is probably one of the most well rounded doom players in terms of the whole franchise but there are people that specialize in eternal that are better, like lightningbreak
This master level was tough as FUCK. I was able to get an ultra nightmare run second try, but I had to resort to using the bfg during the part at 22:22. I also had to panic-fire the bfg twice and crucible both the archviles during the room at 28:22. Those areas destroyed me since I can't handle tight spaces that well. The rest of it was still challenging though. It's insane how well you did on your second attempt, and without the HUD, good shit dude!
The developers must have created this level thinking that ZM would finally have a hard time beating it like probably the rest of us… I‘d like to see their faces when they watch this 😳👍
I'd say considering this existed in 2016 (though obviously not to this level), and there's a ingame tutorial that teaches you how weapon swapping works to skip reloads and maximize DPS just before the Marauder fight, it's fully intended.
Animation cancelling, turns out, was a staple of "gitting gut" in many FPS games released after "boomer shooter" era - reload button (and associated animations) becoming omnipresent being part of the reason. While this Doom reboot doesn't have it for the most part, I suppose devs have still introduced this brand of animation cancelling to address something that FPS players have become accustomed to.
This kind of swapping becomes mandatory in the late game of eternal. Ammo and health are much lower than 2016 so you’re constantly running around killing fodder in between the bullet sponges. That and the weak point mechanic boxing the player into a specific combat loop ruined the experience of eternal for me.
Thanks Zero Master, this was a joy to watch. I myself had to give up at the double arch-vile wall trap near the end on HMP. Died around 50 times before finally quitting out. Just couldn't quite get there. The lack of space to move around and the constant spawnings often blocking you from getting clear shots in at the Tyrants make it the hardest encounter I've ever attempted on this game. I'll go back to it and try again soon though as have gotten soooo close quite a few times.

I finished the main story on nightmare, then tried this level on ultraviolence after 1.5 month break, and died at the first encounter 4 times. Your skill is just out of this world, you deserved your own hall of fame in dev's room

Love how ZM mostly remains silent / inactive but whenever a real challenge arises he is the first one to overcome it. Next-gen Doom speedrunners may achieve shorter times and new world records later. But almost always he is the first to complete it.

I died a lot before I got that I had to kill the 2 tyrants to remove the flame walls protecting the archies. I have just completed the level at nightmare difficulty, need to learn well the spawning position of the demons before I could afford UN. BTW, this is definitely the most difficult level ever.
This is a testament to just how good Zero Master is. 22:00 is the area that I genuinely cannot get past on nightmare, and I am an advanced player. Watching this is true art.
The token room was so fucking hard. This entire master level is just a pure stamina test. So many fights last for minutes on end but it feels like an eternity. Took me several hours to get past this room just to be greeted by the double archville room later.
God damn it feels good getting this on the first attempt when ZM himself had to try 2 times. Awesome gameplay as always It's also nice seeing ZM use the regular old SSG/ballista combo on the marauder, seems like there's a new gimmicky marauder meta every week but I just stick to the classic way of dealing with him.
Today I beat this on Too Young to Die. I did well and I'm proud of myself. Shit was nuts. I'll reply to this when I finish it on Hurt Me Plenty. Then one day, Nightmare 🤘

I liked the way they handled the fog/smoke. It's only hard to see at the bottom of the arena, making it feel more like a proper hazard
