I started out as a scrapbooker (I've heard it referred to as the "gateway craft" . . . Lol!) and gradually started doing other things -card making, mixed media, art journaling, etc. . . I don't really scrapbook anymore. When I was a CM consultant we were taught the importance of journaling in your own handwriting, and I always used the example of my Dad, who is gone now. He went to Catholic school as a boy, back when the nuns taught everyone, and he had that perfect penmanship that was taught. I don't have much that he wrote, but I do have one letter, and all I have to do is see his handwriting and it brings him back to me. So, for all of you who are scrapbooking and saying, "but I HATE my handwriting", I say get over it, it will mean soooooo much to your loved ones one day and believe me they won't be judging whether your handwriting was pretty enough or not, they will be remembering you!
I'm one of those non scrapbookers who simply loves your videos! Also I'm a mixed media artists and believe I can both learn and find inspiration anywhere, especially in your work and enthusiasm for what you do and love. Staci
I enjoy your videos what ever they are. This photo software is going to help me print my photos. I have so much that having a 1 big main photo and smaller around it is perfect, and it is going go help me. This is probably the reason what I do not scarpbook is because I have so many photos that just layering them is not funny but doing it your way is really fun !! For answering your question, the level of your tutorial is perfect for me as a beginner. It is clear, fun not too fast and very enjoyable !
I agree...bring on the cheese! I scrapbook for my children and grandchildren. I want them to look back and remember...so I try to tell the story that will evoke that memory. I don't believe there is a right or wrong in scrapbooking, cardmaking, art journaling, etc. It is whatever looks good to YOU. My oldest two grandsons remember my motto and it thrills me when I hear them say, " There are no mistakes when you craft". I love that you use your older supplies. I use everything I have. I love the latest and greatest, but see no reason why they can't, "play well together". lol. Thanks for all the inspiration, and would love to see more scrapbooking from you!
Beginner here. I'm watching videos and thinking about what pictures I want to scrap first. I have boxes of them going back years before I was born and I'm in my 50's so there are many years of pictures waiting on me. My mom just kept them in a box or those press and stick albums that we now know are not acid free. Your if you like it it's good, don't worry about making everything perfect all the time attitude and showing that less is okay if that is how you want the page is refreshing. The other how too videos I have watched are all related to a store or product maker so they are heavy on use this and this and this, oh and for the finishing touch, more of this here. I have learned a lot from them and have many ideas to try out, but it is nice to watch someone with a more relaxed approach.
Love you page Lindsay I love that you took the time to write about the day. I too don't like my had writing and have notice in the last few books I am tending not to write to much. I am going to change that like you said one day our kids will love to see our messy hand writing and read our notes and remember the time we had. Lovin it. I just finish up a scrapbook for my daughter in law and gave it to her for her birthday. She was crying and said it is the nicest thing anyone ever did for her. Made my day!!
I have been a scrapper for 30 years or so and enjoyed your tutorial. I learned a few things from your tips and thought the detail was good for any level. I have looked back on my first scrapbooks and laugh at my layouts but I agree, you should not go back and redo them. During the years the materials and techniques have changed so much and it is fun to see how it all develops by looking back. My grandkids always want to see my books when they visit...what have you finished lately? They love seeing themselves in the book and share with their friends. It is a history of my family and I use the scrapbooks to refer to "when did that happen"! Love your videos..so down to earth, informative and a learning experience.
I'm not a scrapbooker, but there are lots of techniques that work in many different types of art and supplies too. I enjoy your videos and ALWAYS wish I had a fraction of your energy and enthusiasm.
Brilliant, lots more of these please. You are inspiring, I have never scrapbooked but will be starting, I have thousands of photos, 4 children,8 grandchildren and lots of happy memories. So with you on the handwriting, my mother was a 'note and list' writer and it is great to read her snippets in her handwriting, I can almost hear her speaking.
Hello Lindsay, I love your 2 page spread and the story that went with it. I would love to see more scrapbooking videos in general. TFS, Have a nice day, Lori
Lindsay, I am not a scrapper, but I love your videos. This was great for the beginner or the seasoned scrapper. I just wanted t to let you know how happy you make people with your tutorials. I recently lost my husband and you are somebody I like to watch while Laying in bed at night to end my day with a smile. Thank you so very much.
I do all sorts of other crafts (painting, sewing, drawing, and more) and swore I would never get into scrapbooking - it was too expensive, time consuming, etc. But in the run up to my wedding two years ago I somehow got drawn into that part of the craft store and here I am today with a huge stash of supplies and a true love for scrapbooking and making mini albums! I love that I can take all the other crafts I enjoy and incorporate them into scrapbooking. I recently discovered your videos and I love your enthusiasm and talent! Thanks for sharing :)
I don't scrapbook at all, but I use a lot of scrapbook supplies in my mixed media work. Before scrapbooking got so big, it was hard to find different materials, especially for a reasonable price, so I'm really grateful for the scrapbook explosion. I used to just paint using acrylic paint, but now I used all different kinds of materials. It's much more fun. I also just like to watch your videos! :-)
I have painted and been a crafter forever....however a very controlled and "tight" crafter! I am so thankful to have found your work and I am trying to loosen up my techniques. I have tons of crafts that I've never even touch because I don't want to be disappointed with the outcome. So, keep up with the great videos! Love your laugh! Thank you
First video of my new scrap booking playlist! I love this! Scrapping seemed overwhelming and pricey to me but, you make it look so do-able, easy and fun! The best of all, you get to use what you have and do what you want. I never understood the appeal and now I do. Thank-you for expressing the importance of scrap booking in one's life and shedding some light on a subject that can be confusing. Loads of fun!! tfs =)
Great tip for making your own letters. I'm learning to work with less embellishments and tools. Trying to keep it simple. A ruler and exacto knife will get you far!
I've been scrapping for 16 years (more if you count what I was doing in college and as a child when I didn't even know what Scrapbooking was). I love what you said about scrapping the now moments. So many of my friends feel trapped by being behind, but I've just always scrapped what's current and not felt overly concerned about discontinuity. Looking back over the years, I've commented to my husband that I wouldn't have even remembered some of the things if I hadn't scrapped them.
I love the layout, and the happy memories. You're right in that these are a journal of your life and who you are. I have tried scrapping before, and I am getting back into it. Thanks again.
Lindsey, I LOVE your scrapbook pages!!! You did a very nice job on them. Thanks for the tip about shadowing the edges of stamps. I've been scrapbooking for years and have never tried it. It's 1 am and I'm going to go scrapbook...you are so inspiring! Please keep the scrapbooking videos coming.
I don't work on scrapbooks, but I still find the tutorials interesting. I can use the tips in card making. I love your comments about no apologies. It's fun for me to go back to some of my earliest stamping and see how I've progressed. By the way ... I'm addicted to the water color sprays you showed how to make and used in this tutorial for the stars.
Hi Lindsay. I am 3 years late replying. Yet for me very timely. I am fairly new at scrapping. I have hundreds of photos and I am having fun. You inspire me. Thank you.
I am so addicted to your videos! I love this! Great memories! My problem is I don't have the money to develop my photos! So I haven't really done any scrapbooking in years! But I love watching you create! You are a great teacher! I will watch whatever you have to show me! Thank you!
Like Lori I am not a scrapper ,but any thing you do is an incentive to try new things . You inspire and educate me! At the end of the day I watch your videos which relax me,and yet gets me thinking ! The next day I usually work on a project and plan what I want to try next! Thank you Lindsay!
Thanks for this scrapbooking series. I have wanted to do scrapbooking for a long time but have felt intimidated by it. Your series is really helping me figure it out!
Scrapbooking ten years. I really liked stamping on patterned paper and cutting out with a border! In ten years, that never occurred to me. Thanks! Eager to try out this "new" technique.
Love to watch your scrapbooking series about scrapbooking I think they are great and anyone can do them many people don't try scrapbooking because it can be over welling and I think the next generation will love to look at what was left by you even if it is simple thanks
As usual, a fun and informative tutorial! I think sometimes when scrapbooking we forget the main focus should be the pictures. The embellishments are a small interest point that help us to understand the theme of the pictures, so less is more! When I forget that, I get so bogged down that I lose my creativity. Thanks for reminding me! I SOOO enjoy your videos!!!
Hi, beginning scrapbooker here...I have made 5 layouts so far. I fell in love with the look of mixed media which led me to scrapbooking. Hhhm, I would say this is an extremely beginner scrapbooking lesson, but everyone has to start somewhere and I love your videos and tips and positive enthusiasm. Thanks!
I started scrapbooking in the summer back in 2000 when the neurosurgeon finally agreed to perform a high risk exploratory brain surgery procedure. I had three months before the surgery and thought I would make all three of my daughters a scrapbook filled with their childhood photos - just in case I didn't survive. Okay I soon found out that that was a unrealistic goal. I think I got one book done before the surgery which turned out better than they ever imagined. After a year or so of recovery I was able to get back to the scrapbooking, but I'm also a tole painter, quilter, sewer, card marker and I play with polymer clay and art journaling and mixed media work so the scrapbooking has been on and off. Now I'm making a real effort to get caught up. I really like your layout and I'm going to start using Ipiccy as well. That looked so much easier and quicker than the way I've been doing it - cropping each picture and arranging on a background piece. I have that same set of chipboard that the "buddies" came from - actually I have one and a half sets. One my friend bought for me at a garage sale and I found half the set at the thrift store. I'm a bit of a hoarder too so I understand what you mean about using certain products sparingly. I would like some foam stamps though. I, too, thought you could only use paint on them which is why I never bought them before. I learn so much from your videos! You rock! Everyone has to make a layout that suits their style. I'm like you - many photos on each page but some like to do the one photo per page bit. If your readers want some more inspiration, they can check out my blog: www.craftyviolet.blogspot.com and look under LABELS for Scrapbooking.
Lindsay, you motivated me to get back to my un-finished pages. That is a good thing since you are responsible for taking me away from scrapbooking with all your watercolor videos!
I like your layout. It's happy, like you. Which is the reason I watch. Mostly. I don't paint, but enjoy watching an artist paint. I used to love watching Bob Ross paint too. The layout is great for beginners and others who are just looking for some inspiration. The little kayaks are cute. And the pointers did Drw my eyes to those pics of the dock. So, in my opinion, job well done. J
I started scrapbooking several years ago as a way to blend my photo hobby at the time and my writing hobby, at first I did traditional , then digital, then hybrids in between I went to doing a bit of all kinds of crafting from altered art to mixed media but when I get in a rut I go backwards to go forward ie I go back to scrapping. I love your tip on using your handwriting which I don't do because like you I hate my handwriting, I have to remind myself sometimes to include it on some layouts all the time.
This is great! Those of us who have been scrapbooking for years can still pick up new ideas and inspiration and the newbies can learn great techniques right from the start. I also LOVE your advice to not feel judged ! That needs to be said about everything, huh?
I have scrapped off and on since I was a child. You are right about doing your pages right away so you don't forget. That was my most fatal mistake. Now when I do a page I know who I'm talking about and why. Thanks for this tutorial, I'd like to see more.
I love to scrapbook! I enjoy using different techniques new or old, mix and match works for me. Always fun to see what someone else does with stamps or homemade stencils. My friend introduced me to scrapbooking in 2000. I love your info on the pictures. I've not seen it before. Thanks for the hints. Very helpful!
I've never ever done any scrapbooking, however, I always enjoy watching the vids you make to show us the ins and outs of the craft. Please keep on uploading more as you never know...you may well wear me down lol. xx
I loved this video. Used to scrapbook all the time but have let it slide. You've inspired me to get started with scrapbooking pictures of my 3 year old twin granddaughters. I think I'll start from now and try to keep up with it while adding in pages from their 0-3 years when I have the time. Otherwise I feel like I will never catch up.
Thanks to your video's I'm now starting to learn the different between scrapbooking and journaling! I thought they were the same thing haha. So scrapbooking in basically a crafted-up photo album and journaling is an artists sketchbook. I do print pictures and keep them in a photo album but this has inspired me to get more crafty with my next album! So thanks! I was a scrapbooker in the past when I was little without knowing it! I found one a few months ago of a school German exchange! All sorts of stuff stuck to the pages, which reminded me of a trip I had forgotten so much about!
Just started watching video and already some great tips/reminders. Have been scrapping for 14 years and watching videos a lot the last few. Great reminder to just pick the 1st pp that works, don't look through everything. Also like the reminder to use the foam stamps (have 2 neglected sets) and using them on pp is a great idea. Haven't tried that.
Awesome video as usual - keep them coming! I have been a crafter & scrapbooker for a long time but like many was overwhelmed and let scrapbooking fall to the wayside & took up card making which seems less intimidating. I have recently come back to scrapbooking & love how you make it so inviting & easy. Thanks for being you & helping me and the many others that follow you find our creativity again! You ROCK!
Beautiful. It really is the small things that make the most fantastic memories. I don't scrapbook yet but the calmness of your page is more inspiring than every scrapbooking magazine I bought over the years where it had to be perfect.
I am one that likes your videos and do watch weather I do what your talking about or not....I have not ever scrapbooked before and really don't even know where to start. I do love to make mini albums but doing a scrapbook it has not happened...Love learning all the things you show...
Hi Lindsay, I do scrapbook but I use very few photographs in them. When my son was born I started with the classic shoe box full of bits that ended up in a scrapbook because I did not know what else to do with them. I made one for my sister when she got married and it was full of everything from the save the date cards to honeymoon tickets etc. She loves it, all her wedding was planned by myself and I handmade all the stationery as well as the floral decorations for the church and the venue. It even has fabric swatches in there for the dresses and the material used at the venue. I keep pics in the classic photo albums and prefer them seperate for some strange reason lol
Just love your videos. I learn so much from you. I don't scrapbook but I find that your tips always come in handy with my water coloring sketchbook journaling. Keep up the good work.
I've been scrapbooking for years... I MISS Making Memories... have SO many of their products including foam stamps! :) you gave me some new ideas in this video- thanks :)
This was a great tutorial! I am a beginner and this really helps me out a lot. I have a lot of problem with my handwriting, just don't think it is good enough to put in a book but you are right, I have kept so many letters and pictures my Mom has written just because it means so much just to see her handwriting. Love all your tutorials.
Thnx 4 sharing! I like that this layout is about the pictures and the event, and not about the embellishments! Often its one tiny picture amidst a pile of embellishments. I like that u r saying use whatever u have, and not from this collection or this brand.
Enjoyed the video and learned a few things. I'm not a serious scrapper, but enjoy putting photos in albums and adding comments. I do a lot of different types of crafts and sew. Choosing the correct glue for projects is a problem sometimes. Could you do a video on different types of glues? You are a fantastic teacher! Your videos are always fun and the instructions are easy to follow. You seem so friendly and down to earth, I am sure I am not your only fan that feels like we could share a cup of coffee and talk crafts.
This is fantastic. I love the background idea, photograph layout and stamping technique. Certainly some great ideas for future scrapbooking layouts tfs x
Hi there I started scrapbooking last year and bought a book with incredible layouts. Problem was it scared me & I felt a little intimidated! Still I began & created my own style. I'm now addicted and have lots of scrapbooks. I've shown friends at work & family & they love them. My 6 year old grandaughter now has her own album. You're right about using your own handwriting and it's a great way of recording memories. I love your tutorials lady - you constantly inspire me! Thanks
Yes, I remember when I did the pages too. Remember where I was, maybe the season, and the fun it was to use a certain product. Never would want to redo any pages. Maybe reuse photos on new LO to tell a different story but leave the old LOs alone.
Hi Lindsey, thanks for this tutorial, I like how you make it look easy & fast to do a layout. I still consider myself as a beginner even though I've been scrapbooking for a few years. I only have a few pages done because I often feel overwhelmed, either because I lack technique, inspiration, or I don't have all the supplies shown in tutorials or magazines. Being a perfectionist doesn't help because I tend to put pressure on myself to have the perfect layout. It's the reason I haven't been journaling with my own handwriting, but after seeing your video & reading some of the comments it makes me want to push myself to do it. It reminded me of the old cookbook that belonged to my grandmother, I keep it mostly as a souvenir but sometimes I open it up and when I see some of the notes she left in it, it brings back childhood memories & feels like she's here with me. Thanks for the inspiration! :)
Mlle Maruna I'm glad this video has encouraged you to scrapbook and journal with what you have, your handwriting is part of you and no matter what we use for supplies there will always be new more trendy stuff coming out so just use what you have and don't worry about it;)
thefrugalcrafter . Hi Lindsey! I realized this morning that I called you by another name in my comment yesterday. So sorry, don't know where my head was! I edited my comment, couldn't leave it like that! ;)
It's funny because I have lots of scrapbook supplies but I don't scrapbook. I want to but it seems so stressful to me,lol. Which seams ironic because I enjoy the techniques of making mini-albums. Love your videos!!!
I love your pace! Thank you for discussing the products that you are using. You are the reason why I bought a black memento ink pad when I found spectrum noir markers on sale and bought reds, greens, and the neutral set with the blender that I can use with sharpies or bic markers. I am no longer afraid of titles. I do not have the foam stamps that you have but they look A LOT like the EK success paper punch alphabet set that I have. I hadn't thought of using those with pattern paper. I have some papers that I got in the 12*12 stacks that are okay but not my favorites. From looking at yours I think I may punch my letters and dab a stamp pad over some of them. I have NEVER made a scrapbook before but you have inspired me to try my first. Please keep this series going! I would have typed all of my journaling until you said what you did about handwriting. Request - Would you be willing to show a layout with 4*6 pictures? My special needs daughter has handwriting that can be challenging to read. She will most likely stay 5-7 mentally for her entire life. I wrote before that I hope for another 15 years with her. I hope she hits 30 and dream of her living longer. I listened to what you said about not apologizing. I have decided that I will dedicate space for her journaling even if it is large and difficult to read. I WILL WANT TO REMEMBER THOSE WORDS! I have spent many an hour working with her on writing. Thank you for these videos. You are changing my life. Thanks to some of your tips I will have fewer regrets in my future. I read what was written in the comments on your other videos and made sure that I was in vacation pictures. The adults that were part of the vacation are in the pictures. I also read about celebrating the every day. I read about the fact that we create special books and pages for holidays but we live most of our lives in the every day. That thought made me take pictures of my mother doing my daughter's hair. In a regular album it might not seem like much but I intend on writing about the way it touched my heart. There are a number of things that those pictures bring up for me and I intend on putting them in a book. No apologies, right?
Jesse b absolutely! The thought of outliving a child breaks my heart, I can't even imagine the courage you have everyday. You will really want the everyday photos and yes, let your daughter write in the scrapbook. She might even enjoy the hobby herself in her own way with her special abilities. Take care of yourself and scrapbook the way you want to, it is a rewarding and therapeutic hobby. I'll keep the tutorials coming:)
Definitely let your precious daughter write. You might put a "translation" somewhere on the page if it will help others understand it in future years. My grandson had a speech problem. Often my daughter got on the phone to translate what he said to me. Sometimes she even told me in advance what he was excited about so I would know how to respond directly to him. She loves to have her children write in their own words with their own creative spelling. You can see how they progress as they get older, but those "logical" phonetic spellings often make much more sense than the "correct" spellings.
Looks great! Love all the colors you used and those alpha stamps too--I have them and you just reminded me to use them again, so thanks for that! :) Nicole
It's so true about taking photos of the adults. I was begging to see pictures of my grandfather so Mom pulled out the old movies. All the pictures were of me as a toddler. Grandpa was there, but all I could see were his knees!
Hey Lindsay I've never caught the scrapbooking bug cause I just think all that. Effort for one photo is just too much effort for me, but I really like how you have done it with multiple photos and different sizes too. Just a question do you worry about the type of photo paper like is it archival quality? Or because you have digital copies it's not really a factor for you.....love you're work and the pages turned out get great I really like the lettering.
Interesting technique with the 2 inks on the stamp-looks nice. Missed how you did the photo collages (so nice to see LOs with more than one photo). Is it only for cell phone photos? TFS
Tracy Zook no, it is a website called ipicci and you upload your pics and make the collage than you can save it to your computer and print. Nothing to download and easy! You can use any photos on your computer, from a phone or camera:)
I started out with the scrapbooking after i retired. I was not good with the colored paper so I have a whole bunch I do not use. Problems with color...I can't see the difference between peach and pink or orange....so thus wanted it all right and so I began making cards instead when I found stampin up making dap and solids with color families...now I need to go back and scrapbook again..I have five new grand babies with nothing in their scrapbooks but pictures unattached, Thanks for your inspirations. also where did you get the glue with that fine metal tip? Think that would work well with my cricut pieces.
Pam littledott tilly's bridge at zibbit (a group shop like etsy) you buy an applicator and then fill it with whatever you like. I have modpodge in one and elmers in the other, the mod podge is great in it! there is a link in the video description:)
thefrugalcrafter . woohoo...thanks so much...my friends baby is not due until January, but I do seem to craft in spurts, so i need enough "spurts" to get it done lol thanks :)
I started scrapbooking years ago, but not a lot. I just bought the items and paper and did not put them to use very often. My sister and I decided we collected all of the things.lol I love paper and can not quit buying it. I have tons of pictures, I need to sort them. I now have grandchildren and need to do their pages also. You are inspiring me to get busy. I have lots of memories that I do not have pictures for. I think maybe decorative journal pages where I don't have the pictures. I do other crafts with my scrapbooking supply's, I even take them to church to use with the children. Boy this whole little paragraph I am typing makes no sense.lol Yeah, I need to get busy. Hugs
Marilynn Ellsworth it makes since. One tip for memories/stores with no photos is to use a photo of the place/person the story is about. Esp if that photo joggs a memory. We don't always thing to take a pic when something good/funny/meanigful happens so get creative and find a photo that fits!
I have been collecting craft supplies for years, but just started using things recently. I'm afraid I'll use something for one page and wish I had used it for another page later on
I am at a point in Scrapbooking where I have been doing it so long that everything old is new again. I am a saver, so no need to buy new stuff. The industry seems to be at a standstill at the moment, new paper lines with the same kind of embellishments has been the trend. Not feeling motivated is my problem because I am a perfectionist and one layout could take 4 hours. I am 20 years behind. Not feeling too hopeful that I will ever catch up.
Please continue with the beginning how to's. I don't scrapbook--I have lots of supplies because I thought it was something I'd like to do . . . Now my niece is 15 and thinks her aunt can do anything with crafts :( She wants to enter a scrapbook project for a regional ACE School competition in February. She has taken a lot of pictures and now wants to know how to put them together. We accomplished a title page--using some of your card making techniques. Stenciled a background, etc. Then we organized a 2 page layout, but ran out of time to figure out the background and or embellishments. This has to be 12 pages long--rules. I won't see her till Thanksgiving so working around cooking and being with my parents we will have lots of work to do then. I am noting your thoughts and trying to come up with ideas to give her. I'm long winded, sorry. I for one learn something from every video you do. I'm "needing" these instructions to help me understand how to help her. By the way, she's in the Ozark Hills and internet is not a working thing in their area or I'd have her watch. TH-cam seems to have made it so that we can't save the video to a DVD any more or I'd copy them off for her. Keep up your fantastic videos!
I thought it was great. I think scrap-booking should go hand-in-hand with genealogy. But now we all have to get t-shirts that say "Embrace the Cheese(y)"
I started out as a scrapbooker (I've heard it referred to as the "gateway craft" . . . Lol!) and gradually started doing other things -card making, mixed media, art journaling, etc. . . Maureen Hayes You are right Maureen! Also maybe it is the push to improve our handwriting (I could use it LOL!)
I'm one of those non scrapbookers who simply loves your videos! Also I'm a mixed media artists and believe I can both learn and find inspiration anywhere, especially in your work and enthusiasm for what you do and love. Staci
icatstaci77 thanks Staci!
Styl'Harmony Décoration thanks Christine! Make sure you share you pages with me!
thefrugalcrafter . yes I must remember that ! As soon as I get better I will get to this project !
Loved it Lindsay! May the scrapbooking force be with you💚
Paula Ogi hahaha:) Thanks!
I'm not a scrapper but I do my own crafting while watching your videos.
Lori Thompson I am sorry for your loss. I am happy to bring some joy and comfort to your day;)
I do all sorts of other crafts (painting, sewing, drawing, and more) and swore I would never get into scrapbooking - it was too expensive, time consuming, etc.
Thank you
I'm not a scrapbooker but love whatever you are creating Lindsay. I learn something new with every video ! xo patti :)
My mother and I watch your videos together. Thank you for the great videos! You're awesome.
I'm a new card maker (6 mos.) and find your style and philosophy most inspiring. I like your urging us to "Just do IT" and hang the naysayers!
Thank you.
I love love love watching you, I don't scrapbook anymore, but some of your tips cross over to other crafts and art.
I am so addicted to your videos! I love this! Great memories! My problem is I don't have the money to develop my photos! So I haven't really done any scrapbooking in years! But I love watching you create! You are a great teacher! I will watch whatever you have to show me! Thank you!
Super cute page I love the idea of making "one page" with several photos.
I am scrapping as we speak, and you just gave me three wonderful new ideas! So cute! Thanks for your humour and inspiration!
I would love to see more scrapbook page process videos. You're the best!
I've been scrapbooking forever and I love to see how everyone else does it. I love the stories and advice too. Keep going girl!
Not a scrapper, but I DO love your videos and learn some neat techniques and tips that can be used in card making and art journaling as well.
You ROCK!
Thank you Lindsay I love it.
Beautiful. It really is the small things that make the most fantastic memories. I don't scrapbook yet but the calmness of your page is more inspiring than every scrapbooking magazine I bought over the years where it had to be perfect.
Kristen K thank you so much:)
Great scrapbook page, Lindsay! I think I'll do some scrapbooking myself later tonight!!
Love your videos. We don't seem to scrapbook here in England but you make it tempting
Annie Bright :) thanks! I have a video from a few years ago called "the glues I use" maybe that would help:
I love the Julia Childs channeling "Never apologize"
This is fantastic. I love the background idea, photograph layout and stamping technique. Certainly some great ideas for future scrapbooking layouts tfs x
Hi there
I started scrapbooking last year and bought a book with incredible layouts. Thanks
Kate Brammer thanks Kate!
I love this. I am gonna try the photos together. Looks really good
Great LO. Love the little kayaks. TFS ~ Hugs ~ Pat
What a great video!! I've been scrapbooking since about 2001 and found so many helpful tips here!! Thank you so much! I love your layout!
ShelleyLeeDesigns thanks, keep scrappin!
Mlle Maruna I'm glad this video has encouraged you to scrapbook and journal with what you have, your handwriting is part of you and no matter what we use for supplies there will always be new more trendy stuff coming out so just use what you have and don't worry about it;)
thefrugalcrafter . thanks for your reply, and wise words, very sweet of you :)
thefrugalcrafter . Hi Lindsey! I realized this morning that I called you by another name in my comment yesterday. So sorry, don't know where my head was! I edited my comment, couldn't leave it like that! ;)
Really enjoyed this tutorial! Great pages!
I like it ! fast and easy I love the layouts .. flat and fits right in the book cover. :) thank you !
It's funny because I have lots of scrapbook supplies but I don't scrapbook. I want to but it seems so stressful to me,lol. Which seams ironic because I enjoy the techniques of making mini-albums. Love your videos!!!
Loved it. Thanks for doing a page.
Your response brought tears to my eyes. Thank you!
Thank you Sharon! My daughter now talks to family on the phone. People know I will translate. I will definitely be putting her words in the scrapbook
I am a beginner with 3 boy's. Thank you this was a fun video
I loved it! And always always embrace the cheese because it's life and it's your life love it all cheese or not. It's all good. Tfs....Becky
Hey Lindsay I've never caught the scrapbooking bug cause I just think all that. Effort for one photo is just too much effort for me, but I really like how you have done it with multiple photos and different sizes too. Just a question do you worry about the type of photo paper like is it archival quality? Or because you have digital copies it's not really a factor for you.....love you're work and the pages turned out get great I really like the lettering.
yay please do more scrpbooking videos
Love that enormous ampersand! Is that made with a foam stamp as well?
Kathy Sammartano yes, by Creative Cafe/Hampton Arts, I got the set with huge letters at Joann for about $6 on sale:)
Great pages! Thank you
Can I get a link to the app you use for your photos. Grouping them together? Edith
SCRAPBOOKINGWITHME ipicci.com, it is awesome AND free!
Thank you Lindsay I love this program!!
I loved it...I would say I would love to see how to do a baby scrapbook for another person as a gift....thanks :)
Meli Isen Already filmed it, it will be up within the week:)
thefrugalcrafter . woohoo...thanks so much...my friends baby is not due until January, but I do seem to craft in spurts, so i need enough "spurts" to get it done lol thanks :)
I like what you did with the photos. It looks really nice. what is the name of the photo software you used?
Maureen Zigulis ipicci
Great ideas. What was the editing software you use? Can you size the photos in that sofware?
Carol Moore ipicci, yes you can, it is easy, just play with it a bit:)
Great idea! Thank you
Is the picci an apple app?
Tara Marion I do not know, I used it right on my computer, it is a windows based PC
I have been collecting craft supplies for years, but just started using things recently. I'm afraid I'll use something for one page and wish I had used it for another page later on
gabr0901 we all have that problem but you know what happens? It becomes too precious to use and sits in a drawer until it is out of style so use it!
Love it!
Haha yep, not into scrap booking but I like your videos :)
Love you video
I am at a point in Scrapbooking where I have been doing it so long that everything old is new again. I am a saver, so no need to buy new stuff. The industry seems to be at a standstill at the moment, new paper lines with the same kind of embellishments has been the trend. Not feeling motivated is my problem because I am a perfectionist and one layout could take 4 hours. I am 20 years behind. Not feeling too hopeful that I will ever catch up.
SusanScrapPassion you can always jump in where you are. You are not behind, you just have a lot of wonderful memories to record;)
I'm just curious
I thought it was great. I think scrap-booking should go hand-in-hand with genealogy. But now we all have to get t-shirts that say "Embrace the Cheese(y)"
fabbbbbbbb
