Strangely enough, I have heard a story of a lawyer in my city that literally ate the evidence after being left alone with it unsupervised.
It was a piece of paper, and the dude just went in on it and swallowed it. Afterwards, they couldn't prove that he ate the evidence because of the lack of evidence that he ate it and the sheer ridiculousness of what he did.
He got away scot-free, as did his guilty-ass client. I don't know why I felt the need to share this story; But I did.
In this case, eating the evidence was very effective, so maybe it's a good Nen Ability for a defense attorney.

Ikalgo's ability doesn't seem so weak if you consider that he can use the nen ability of a deceased nen user (I'm concluding since he was able to use satellite dragonflies)
I prefer his other ability which is just a bug sniper.

Could Banalt just cut any old hair that he found off the floor and then eat it to gain his ability? The nen ability only states that he has to cut it with his scissors, not that the hair has to be cut it off the person’s head.

Nen restriction aren't actually requirements for an ability to function, they just increase the power of it through added rules and those rules are completely arbitrary. Whether Binolt could or couldn't really depends on whether he thinks that it violates the restriction. But if he was a stronger nen user there's no reason that he couldn't achieve the same affect with more aura cost and no restrictions, or as he is now remove all restrictions and get less information.
I think one of Hakoware's unspoken requirements is that the user has to be able to calculate compound interest. Knuckles is probably an innate math genius, so it plays really well into his strength since he is doing a lot of this math mentally. Funny enough some friends of mine and I play D&D and we allowed the choice to make abilities similar to nen and I made an alternate hakoware. Most people thought it was dumb until I knocked out a very strong opponent by making them go bankrupt in a turn.
I never really thought about how smart knuckle actually was bit he can do logarythmic functions in his head during battle

Yeah but his ability doesn't allow him to get inside a corpse it only allows him to control a corpse IF he is inside it. The reason he can get inside so easily is because he's an octopus, NOT his ability.

You can go ham on Casinos with this ability, which is great.
Living Dead Dolls is a terrible manipulation technique for a human, but an excellent enhancement technique for an octopus, since it’s the logical extension to that thing octopus’s do with empty shells. So I can’t say it’s the worst at all.

I love that Nen exorcists are the most blatant plot devices in any series ever, yet it makes so much sense, that it would exist and because it’s so obvious it actually works super well.
For how secret Nen is, and how this power is only useful in incredibly uncommon situations. And how useless it is for any user who doesn’t have a partner.
It’s just one of the best solutions to when a character gets “sealed”.
I’m really hoping with the current arc, Nen beasts, and how many dark continent curses there are, that it actually becomes more common.
Or, that we come upon a duo, where one guy has a super strong technique, but it curses himself, and his partner to just be a Exorcist.
For how rich hunters are though, I’d kinda expect every exorcist to be insanely wealthy, even more so then fortune tellers, or even small nations.
But I still wouldn’t mind if it stays the way it is, just for how it makes the world feel “full”
I think ikalgo gets a lot of unjust criticism here. His living dead dolls being easy to see through is part of his character. wanting to be a squid but clocked as an octopus 24/7 is part of his arc. It’s literally just a body dysmorphia ability lol. Getting to use the deceased user’s ability is crazy strong too.
All get criticisms.
Best abilities are really personalized abilities which show how good they are. Netero has his prayer, which as Meruem stated "such wasteful movements can easily be deadly in combat". Also remember that Killua does feel pain from being shocked, he just has insane pain tolerance, at least with SkillHunter you can smack people with a book, with Killuas you're just gonna pass out from shock.

An important thing to remember with the lasts one its that nen isn't a superpower, the user decides it and creates it from zero, so a precondition they already fulfil could be useful (having a bunch of holes or being able to fit in small spaces as an octopus) so maybe other people can't find it useful for the simple reason it wasn't made for them

Not only does it require other people to work it also kills them either that or it requires corpses which in either case severely limits its use(if I remember correctly it also caused him to loose his hunters license)

Manipulation essentially is to manipulate other and needle people doing good job in it not only you can control mutiple target needle people also Made the target stronger and for illumi Hunter license was nothing for him.

Illumi reminds me of gon he has a ton of potential but he doesn't do much with it it's not that his ability is horrible it's just pretty meh and in his case it has alot of limitations

I think I would actually love to be able to see the future like that. I'm imagining going into a grocery store and spending all of two seconds to walk through grabbing the freshest everything....because I saw the future where I bit into everything and only took the most delicious.

Special techniques (Hatsu) is quite limited in idea to humans. The introduction of hybrid species, Chimera Ant and humans, gave us a wide variety of unique, fascinating and not so very useful hatsus but still falls to the category of eccentricity. There are hatsus that is only possible because of the concept of cross-breeding.
5:26 the south of Chile is actually one of the rainiest places on Earth, specially in winter, so Leol's ability would have been op there, lol. It's the north that's mostly dry (where the desert is).
When i heard this question i immediately thought about that guy from Greed Island who could jump high and levitate for a few seconds, lol.
I'm surprised Hakoware even made this video. It is one of my favorite abilities in all of anime because of how versatile, easy to use, and creative it is.

Presumably he's enhancing the corpse to be able to perform their abilities after death, much like Palm and her Merman Statue. I would presume this also involves Manipulation.
I might add Third Prince Zhang Lei’s guardian spirit beast. It spits out coins. Coins that Zhang Lei himself has a strong gut feeling won’t be useful to himself or anyone until he becomes king. And while I certainly feel that he’s the Kakin empire’s best option, he would need to survive a war of espionage and assassinations to get there, and this power does not help him do that.
We don’t even know the fully extents of it yet

Hello ! I'm a french viewer and i must react over the prononciation of Baise's name at 8:20 . So basically the real prononciation would get closer to [baeza] in english cause the way you prononce [baez] it can be heard as f**k in french XD Even so, the world "Baise" effectively can mean to have s*x and the correct way to have it meaning kissing would be "Baisé" where the accent also make it a noun. The world "Baiser" also means to kiss but in a very formal and old manner that isn't used nanymore. Otherwise a big fan of your videos as usual so please keep it going !
Jaket Nen ability requiring Netero grade nen control might actually be useful in the idea that it would be a nen ability focused purely on defence, making themselves into an impenetrable shield of Ten around a companion who will be focused on attacking, made stronger with the limitation that they would never be the one on offense, just give the companion an equally impressive attacking ability that has the opposite limitation of never letting them focus on defense and you could have yourself a pretty deadly duo
Just slap on some phantom troupe grade back story for them and your set with a compelling character

Ikalgos abilities would make for a great assassin. Take over the dead body of someone close to your target, and then once you get close, you have a built in high powered gun to finish the job.

I always forget what Ikalgo’s ability actually was. I don’t actually think it’s that bad or not useful tbh. Especially considering he can seemingly use the abilities of the deceased person he’s possessing.
You could make incredible sums of money with Parallel Future... Slap a $20 on the counter of a petrol station with the intention of grabbing and quickly scanning any scratch ticket handed to you to see if it's a winner, then just say, 'I'd like a #1', if it wins in the vision get it but if not say instead 'I'd like a #2', and move through the options until you have either won or lost on all the tickets available then mosey on to the next petrol station.
After you've build a good sized stack of cash start challenging people to flip for the cash and just pick the proper heads or tails option to win :P

Well Binolt's restriction could be side-stepped if cutting already cut hair counts, since technically the hair just need to be cut by the scissors , if it was already cut by something else before it shouldn't matter.But it's still semantics so I'm not sure.

And that ability can be sought after by rich clients if they are not grossed out by someone eating their hair. Especially rich old clients because it can uncover hidden diseases, just saying....

Some abilties on this list like Imawari arent “bad”. Its just you forget the cardinal rule of Nen:
The better restrictions, the more powerful it is.
Also a common misconception people have it HxH, unlike many other battle shonens, Nen abilities cater to non fighting or non violent jobs.
It was made very clear in the early manga that many hunters create their Hatsu’s that cater to their occupations or careers. Not everyone is a fighter or looking to battle.
Leorio’s ability was created with his occupation in mind, not for fighting. It just happens to be his ability also can be useful in a fight.
Hunters are just required to know Nen and have a minimal martial proficiency
So even hunters that dont fight will still know how to fight or defend themselves.
I have a theory that could easily become a retcon about the Zoldyck family. I reckon Maha/Zig Zoldyck travelling tonthe dark continent and brought back with him a generational curse that everyone in his bloodline will end up suffering from. So how Alluka inherits Ai and the claws we've seen Killua produce. I have a feeling they're all not entirely human and have been rigged with dark continent curses that allow them to be as powerful as they all are

I think Hakoware works this well only because of the natural ability of Knuckle to understand economy and it's notions, not sure he could pull it off if he doesn't know the mechanisms of the ability. It's another story if someone like Kuroro or Leol steals it, as the ability was already crafted. I might misremember but i think the manga even states Knuckle is a genius mathematician at his introduction in the chimera ant arc. Correct me if i'm wrong, nen abilities are always too complicated to know them at 100%.
That parallel future ability being a downside was sort of literally an episode of Rick and Morty where being able to see a few seconds into the future allows you to go towards whatever goal you're hoping for but you also become like a slave to using it out of a fear you'll make the wrong choice without it

Its not about training. It about conditions and restrictions. He can train all he wants, he still needs to use Zetsu to activate it

Just like with Devil Fruit powers that feels like it is a wide margin. The difference is with Nen users it is a wider margin given how Nen tends to work.
Binnolts power is rather strong. It can potentially let you know what your opponents Nen type and ability is, which is very useful in nen fights.

I kinda assumed that the Nen ability would come with it's requirement when translated to real life, like Emperor Time giving you Scarlet Eyes, which also would make it the worst nen ability
Every time you feel intense emotions your eyes turn red and activate Emperor Time, which costs 1 hour of your life every second just to be slightly above average in a skill you would never be able to master anyway

Yea but we are talking about best and worst here. If an ability is only useful to a specific profession, of course it’s gonna be a lot worse than fighting abilities that have a lot of general use. That being said Binolts ability would actually be very good in a lot of real world ways I think the commenter just doesn’t want to eat a handful of hair.

Parallel Future is pretty bad , when you consider the user has to be in Zetsu to use it , if ANYONE use En during the first ten second of usage you just insta die , which probably also kill both nen beast. You can also just use En preemptively and he cannot use it unless he want to die.

He flicks coins like bullets, and has the capacity to fire them like a LMG. It's the most unassuming assassination device ever! Who's going to suspect the unarm man with pocket change to carry out a murder? Sound incredibly useful to me.
That’s not an ability, just pretty much basic nen application which is why a lot of the butlers can use it
