Honestly, your videos are SO well made. This level of quality in tutorials and add-on demos is incredible. Everything is perfectly illustrated and clearly explained while being entertaining. I always learn a ton and watch the whole video without speeding up. It helps that your voice is so warm and cheerful, Christina. Your honest, detailed comparison of the three Cloth add-ons for Blender is exactly what I needed. I'm going to go with Simply Cloth for now. Thanks for taking the time to make such excellent videos. You truly enrich this community!
Awww, duuuuude! Your comment TOTALLY made my day! :’D I’m so glad to hear the tutorials have been helpful and that it’s enjoyable to listen to me 😄 Really appreciate it ❤️
Amazing tutorial as always guys! I really want the addons to get on a level of marvelous designer. However there are soo little people that go into the very depths of creating clothes in blender. I think the biggest problems the addons have so far is the clipping issue. You always have to clean up after applying everything. From what I have seen so far of Marvelous designer it looks soo simple and clean to use. It is deals so fast and easy with clipping problems.
Thanks, Yori! The issue doesn’t really lie with the add-ons, but rather Blender’s way of rendering cloth. The add-ons do nothing more than create a simple version of what’s already existing in Blender. They don’t alter the render engine in any way, so for this issue to be resolved, it’s Blender that needs to really re-invent the way it renders cloth sim. Hopefully that makes sense! I just wanted to point out it is NOT the add-on makers’ fault 😁
I agree- with MD the cloth simulation just works. Every time I try to do clothsim in Blender the clothes instantly get ripped to shreds and I have to spend forever trying to figure out which obscurely-named property is responsible. I'm currently on the MD free trial and I'm honestly considering spending the next 25 days or so just making as many assets and animations in it as I can before time runs out!
Personally I use SimplyCloth for everything in my work, but I mostly do still imagery. If you’re working with animation, Clothes in Motion’s features are super helpful. If you want to create some really intricate clothing designs, I’d look into Garment Tool, but it’s a difficult tool to learn/use in my opinion. Hopefully that’s helpful!
I have to thank you for the high quality of the video content and detail-wise. You are e so easy and fun To listen to explaining every little detail! I’m happy I found this Chanel! Please keep creating useful and honest videos like this. While watching inspired and add-on in the N-panel with an ‘import DAZ file’ button can you please tell me which addon is this since I’m a DAZ user who still struggles when it comes to importing my DAZ assets to blender. Thanks in advance ☺️
Dear polycosm. thx for the tutorial. I was wondering if you can give some advice about cloth sims in blender? I have tried many settings, but the clothes are always very 'bouncy' or 'jittery. it doesn't matter which cloth type i use. the forums say it might be due to things like mesh size and also field physics. i did try them but to no avail. how did you get the t-shirt to stay so still?
Hmm, perhaps your gravity settings are off? Also, you can choose how «heavy» your clothing is in terms of kg I think. Something relating to Mass I think? I don’t really mess with the settings as I mainly just use the add-on «Simply Cloth», which takes care of a lot of those settings. Have you tried playing around with the collision settings too? Perhaps the clothing is fighting with the collision too much?
@@POLYCOSM I have simply cloth pro - a different cloth addon than [clothes in motion] featured here. however, it is very intensive due to the modifiers on it and it slows my system down alot. so in the end, i do low poly versions of clothes i already have and use blender's native cloth sims. can't really get around some of the way it looks. it's ok for this project i am doing. but the next one, i can't afford to keep doing these cop-out methods. it's gotta look more polished. thanks so much for replying :)
Ah, I see. Unfortunately cloth simulation/physics in any software is relatively heavy on the system. Marvelous Designer is designed specifically for cloth physics and might be a bit lighter on the system, but it’s a more expensive alternative. Hope you manage to get some satisfactory results regardless! 🙌

Pro trick: you can watch series at kaldrostream. I've been using it for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Randy Julio definitely, I've been watching on KaldroStream for years myself :D

The table at the end. Super helpful at explaining the difference. I really like the look of simply cloth.
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for for my music video, thank you!
Aww, yay! So glad you found it useful! 😄🙌
That was a very helpful overview of the the three tools.
I had no idea this existed until now. Thank you for sharing!
Aw, so glad you found it useful! 😄🙌
You're good at this!
Thanks, Christopher! ☺️
that was so beneficial thank you
Yeah I just discovered this channel and WoW 🤩 I was looking about these type of Addons for a project and you just made my day thank you 😊
Aww, thanks Fotis! Glad to hear you are enjoying our content 😄
Wow!! Thank you so much! That is really amazing!
You’re most welcome, Flojo ☺️
Wow! Great tutorial! I learned so much! Thank you!
Amazing tutorial!! Keep it up! 👌
Thanks, Liezy! Glad you enjoyed it 😄😁
What kind of sweet witchery is this!
Haha, some witchcraftery indeed! 😋

@@POLYCOSM Ahh yeah my bad it is definitely the fault of how blender renders cloth for sure. Hope it will get fixed soon!
Yeah, I have my fingers crossed as well! 😁🤞

Question, which one out of the 3 do you recommend the most? As in which one is your most favorite and your go to?
For animation? And custome designs?I think I know the answer but I'm unsure

This add-on is exactly showing in 3:36 on the N-panel
How would you use both add ons together?
I love your laugh

@@POLYCOSM i might get clothes in motion for the shape keys feature cos that is very useful as a bad simulation can be cleaned up in many ways :)
It’s such a handy and great feature! Hope you get some satisfactory results with it! ☺️
Can you still use "Clothes in Motion"with custom made clothes, or does it only work with addon assets?
buahahahah damn xD you got such a nice and happy voice :D Love it :D Good video material ! subbed!
if you created you cloth in marvelous designer, would this addon still be useful?
I highly doubt it as Marvelous cloth exported tends to be very dense geometry-wise 😬 And running a sim on dense geometry is not a good idea.
8:00 yep im also using SImply Cloth pro , that gona be great MIX
Could i use this with premade clothes from third party sites?
Are shape keys for cloth a common thing in the animation industry? I thought simulation is stored as cache most of the time
Not super common I think, but a great way to edit the animation and fix issues!
Christina clicks on "convert to key"
Me : what kind off witch craft is that holy shit
Ahaha, I know right! Had the exact same reaction as you the first time 🤣🤣
Why can't the record be built on the form, and can't be carved
Madam
Your voice is so nice...
Can we animate a charecter with stimulated cloth with simply cloth pro?
Haha, thanks! Yes, you can ☺️ Although, I’d probably recommend Clothes in Motion for animation, purely because you can edit Shape Keys.
oh my god, you made me discover the next thing that is going to erode more funds from my bank account
Hahaha, aww 🤣 Don’t go broke now!
@@POLYCOSM I'll do what feels right hahah
Why can't I carve?
update please

Bruh why is this reminding me of that dream son lmao
What? 😆
that voice is distracting af
I’m... sorry? 😆
