Man this music video is really smart. From costumes, lighting, body movement, hair style, all of it has some meaning. She starts barefoot in simple black clothes, natural, messier hair, little body movement. That is her natural form, her being pure, having nothing but dreams of success. Then shoes get added, more macho movement starts showing up, and she starts tearing the pillars down as she scrambles for money and fame. Then the fancy dress comes up (with a Statue of Liberty-like tiara to indicate she achieved her American dream of money and fame), smooth, glossy hair, full on high lady style, building her palace. Lights start shining again (where previously lights shone only when she was in her "pure" form of being poor, barefoot and struggling to survive, singing how she's on her knees in the chorus - the light shows up again when she "prays from the gutters"). But this time the light is wrong, doesn't shine from the side like the sun but from the top, like the artificial lights of bars and pubs, representing the artificiality of the success she achieved, the impurity of it all. She made it, but she's tired, alone and hopes she didn't go wrong. Then she goes to full leather, metal studs, grungy, tearing everything down violently with body movements, when she realises all she fought for was a fabricated "chase".

At first, I thought it was plain boring with just plain background and pillar and one scene. I tried to watch it again and again, each time I watched it, I found new meaning and movement. I manged to create a meaning toward the start to end and now I really honestly love her as an artist. I don't want her to change, the music plays to my heart and I honestly love her dance. Wow, it’s the first time I game this song a proper listen since 2018, when was playing fifa 18. I remember liking it in the game, but it got a bit repetitive with me playing fifa for hours during the year. Now I ve came back and watched this amazing music video and it’s so refreshing! What an amazing song! It has character, confidence, great lyrics and production. I wish some movie used in in OST so it would get more views. Also, this summer is 10 years since I first heard Kimbra! Unlike majority of people discovering her via Somebody I Used to Know, i first heard her “ Come into my head” again thanks to fifa (2013). I imagined kimbra to be a completely different person than she is for some reason, but I really love her personality judging by the last mini video she put out. Gotta explore more of her, really love the sound!

Wow, it’s the first time I game this song a proper listen since 2018, when was playing fifa 18. I remember liking it in the game, but it got a bit repetitive with me playing fifa for hours during the year. Now I ve came back and watched this amazing music video and it’s so refreshing! What an amazing song! It has character, confidence, great lyrics and production. I wish some movie used in in OST so it would get more views.
Also, this summer is 10 years since I first heard Kimbra! Unlike majority of people discovering her via Somebody I Used to Know, i first heard her “ Come into my head” again thanks to fifa (2013).
I imagined kimbra to be a completely different person than she is for some reason, but I really love her personality judging by the last mini video she put out. Gotta explore more of her, really love the sound!
