I still remember when like 3 years ago Austria Salzburg played against my local team in the 3rd division and they brought over 200 Fans in our Stadium, which was pretty amazing, because that was the first time a team which doesn't come the same region brought fans with them to the stadium. They trashed my local team 12:1...
I don´t like how RB transfers their players between the clubs. But RB does not buy expensive players, they acquire talented players from their academies in Africa or Brasil or buy them for a bargain and make them better. Best example? Sadio Mane, bought for 500.000€, sold for 15.000.000€. You can criticise them all you want, but RB buys young players and make them better. Look at the current RB Leipzig team: 27 players, only 5 of them are 26 or older. Oh, and if you want another aspect of the new Austria Salzburg: Stupid managers lead the club to bankruptcy.
I think that ALL the football teams around the world should use the example of Red Bull Salzburg and Red Bull Leipzig as a lesson. These two club grown really fast reaching the top in their country spending their money on young talents instead of expensive players. World football should learn from Red Bull that spending your money on big names and expensive players is not the only way to get on top. Congratulations on Red Bull's football projects but fuck modern football :D
Because they wouldn't come to your club. But there is an agreement between clubs not to pay young talents too much money. Red Bull ignored it and stole talents from dozens of clubs. When they were in the second division they even payed more for new players than the whole rest of the league combined
But what he means is that rich people are taking small, bad teams like Manchester City and pumping loads of money into the club so they can compete at the highest level.
Not really... Manchester City was not renamed, nor was its kit changed or anything; and it already existed as "Manchester City" and played in blue since 1894 (about 115 years or so before City were taken over). That was nothing like what Red Bull have been doing. In fact, it is the opposite. City turned down a huge sponsorship deal after the takeover because one of the conditions was to change the blue kit to red to appeal to Asians more, but the CFG turned down the offer because they knew it was against the fans wishes. The only thing they've changed is the new badge which is actually just a modern version of City's historical badge before they got forced to change it. The FA forced City to change their original circular badge in the 90s to the recent eagle badge due to legal issues. The CFG just reverted back to the original badge style and consulted the fans about it and involved them in the design process. I digress, but also, NYCFC didn't even exist - that was a brand new club created by the CFG. It wasn't like the CFG took over an already existing club - this was a brand new club that they founded which there is nothing wrong with. This is totally different to what Red Bull had done - buying teams then renaming them, changing the colour of their kit, changing their badges etc. all for the sake of getting their brand in the public eye. You are right about Melbourne though, this is more comparable (though not as bad as what Red Bull have done with the clubs they've taken over). Melbourne's traditional red and white strip is still used as the away kit as a nod to the clubs history, which is a bit more than what RB have done. Its still not good though. However, anyway, like I said, your assertion doesn't really make any sense regarding Man City and New York - it is not the same thing.
the financial advantages that man city has are still a problem and is a main reason why they are so victorious. something i personally would not be happy with because it doesn't fit the idea of football that i got.
There were rumours a couple of years ago that Red Bull were considering buying Leeds United. As much as I dislike the current regime, I'm so glad my club is still recognisable.
Ask anybody in Germany what they think of RB Leipzig and then ask that question again. Red Bull needs to get the fuck OUT of football. Especially in Germany where we have the 50+1 rule, and they skirted their way around it by buying all the stakes in the club and having the "fans" who own it all be Red Bull execs. Whether it be in Germany or Austria, buying off already existing clubs and slapping their name on it to sell more drinks, it's bullshit (pun absolutely intended).
We have so many strong fanscenes like rapid, austria wien, lask, blau weiß linz, ried, sturm graz, gak, austria salzburg, wacker innsbruck &&& but teams like red bull salzburg, wsg tirol & many others kill our system
Big money is ruining football, players and the foundation of this great game. Look at all the greatest players of all time they weren't motivated by money but the love of football. Nowadays kids wanna become footballers for the love of money!
RB Salzburg was one of the most underrated teams in Europe in 2013/14, they played attractive football, had the likes of Mane, Kampl and even beat a full strength Bayern Munich - Now it's all about RB Leipzig, they again play attractive football and they have good players. I really don't think RB are ruining football, they're actually making it better and more entertaining.
Mcfc It's not their football style, it's the fact that Red Bull came and bought rights to clubs and just slapped their name on them with the goal of selling more drinks through success in the first division. The main reason people here in Germany hate Leipzig is because Leipzig is a plastic club made of the Red Bull's wealth.
it was a week before a competitive game in january and Bayern had won 18 straight 'test matches' before this so they definitely played to win but anyway my main point is Salzburg was really good to watch in 13/14..
Alright, alright. But that last comment "... under half their stadium capacity each home game." is not because there are no Red Bull Salzburg fans. It's one of the biggest stadiums in Austria and every club here has problems to attract people to come to the games!
CheapShot McGee So the fact pogba went to Utd isn't mad? The top divisions in Europe are getting richer and richer whereas the lower leagues in those countries are getting poorer and poorer. You're a yank you know fuck all about football
Going to be harsh here, but a lot of people in this comment section haven't learned that money rules the world yet. If you have a couple of billion lying around; why not create the best club in the world. And use the promotion that club gets to your advantage. It's clearly very smart. And in 10 to 20 years people will have forgotten about the club history and the new generation will support the top team. Just smart business and people should not fight it, they should respect it.
VibeCentral | Amazing Deep and Tropical House though I agree with you on some points I still think that plenty of RB’s hate is deserved when you destroy a clubs history and name (keeping in mind that unlike in America the international sports scene is a lot more community-based and teams usually keep their name and location until they dissolve completely, so a team changing their name and location is like heresy to them) instead of developing your own club and use your team to promote your product strictly and put profits over passion and identity that’s when people criticize and lambast you There wasn’t a backlash when Nintendo bought the Seattle Mariners because they left the name and identity alone and didn’t use the baseball team to sell the next Mario game (tho I know that the Mariners aren’t nearly as successful as most of the Red Bull teams but I was just giving an example) and if, for example Red Bull just kept the MetroStars name (cause I though that was a great name IMHO) instead of changing the name and colors to promote their drink there wouldn’t be an issue (in fact if they had brough back the Cosmos name there’d be an INCREASE of fan support because a lot more people identify with that name growing up)
I hate NYRB because fans believe the club is sooooo great yet they always fall juuuuust short of reaching the MLS Cup. They are the Sounders/FC Dallas of the East lol. I have a love-hate relationship with DC. You sold us (Houston Dynamo) Bobby Boswell and then y'all got him back. He was our rock on defense :( lol
think you should do a documentary on how football club owners are destroying clubs in the uk. just look at clubs like Blackpool, blackburn rovers, charlton athletic, leeds united, bolton wanderers, portsmouth the list goes on would be good to see it covered
Manuel Ka_de_is No because a team who were in the 3rd tier of English Football rose up the leagues and proved teams who spent hundreds of millions wrong ☺️
Manuel Ka_de_is forgot they bought prime messi with their new found money...they won the league with Robert Huth being their marquee signing you wet wipe.
The biggest problem is, that we're afraid that more companys build their own clubs similar to the Red Bull shit. The only goal of these "clubs" is to advertise the tin. It's a slow process, that will destroy our football. That why stuff like this needs to be stopped immediately.
And there is Red bull brasil but they are in 4th division imagine them putting more money into their brazilian red bull team and getting the next brazilian talents in their europian teams .
@@danyfromcta That means RED Bull has a brazilian first league Team? And that means they will get all the talents to Salzburg/Leipzig if they do more african countries and france, spain too they can get many serious talents and transfer them to Leipzig and make them giants...
Leipzig are tip of the Bundesliga in their first season, if a club can prevent the constant domination of Munich, we can say that red Bulls have done nothing but make football better
RB Leipzig even though they have been taken over are still doing incredibly well they are a team full of great youngsters all playing for the win it's not like they have gone out and bought Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez and Bale they are playing a lot of young players they either originally had or picked up in the summer there should be no excuses by any of the top teams in the Bundesliga especially Bayern that they are not challenging them at the moment stuff could turn around for the worst for RB but for now congratulate the players for topping a hard league and staying undefeated
As an austrian i have to say that red bull salzburg is good for the austrian football because they qualifify almost every year for international football and do pretty well. The other austrian club don't qualify consistently. They do also have the best youth academy in our country where some potential stars get devoloped. Even though the league gets a bit boring every year at the end i'm happy that my country has club that plays really good international football every year and maybe one day they qualify for the champions league which would be very nice.
thats actually true since the mls system is totally different to most of the european leagues and also tradition doesnt play an important role since all clubs are pretty young and some new clubs may be created(like atlanta next year)
Red Bull Salzburg and Austria Salzburg kinda reminds me of MK Dons and Wimbledon AFC except the old Wimbledon moved to Milton Keynes instead of a company taking over the club and its stadium.
I've been waiting for a RedBull video from Copa90 for a long time. I am a NYRB fan. I love my club. I'm not saying I agree with everything RedBull has done in the past, but New York is an example of trying to achieve success without money as an advantage. Let everybody support the club they love. Most only see this and not the other side of this, the fans of RB clubs. When they do it right, there is nothing wrong with their clubs. Plus RedBull has achieved an identity that relates to the sporting community, one that is not associated with other companies like McDonalds or Milton Keyes. That is what seperates them from the rest.
It's all about the fans. If the fans can deal with a trademark owning and changing their club, that's their problem. if that happened to my club, we would create a new one and show the finger to the changed one.
RB Leipzig is one of the best upcoming teams!! N that's only been possible with red bulls help. They're creating club history and building a dynasty. So kinda split between the two.
It's part of a bigger company, sure, but they are advertising Red Bull as much as Leverkusen are promoting Bayer, Wolfsburg are promoting VW and Ingolstadt are promoting Audi. They aren't selling more Red Bull because of it. It fits in well with their CI but they do it because they make money. That is what professional sports is about. They started out in 7th division, why do other teams have a bigger right to exist just because they have been shite for a 100 years? They play good footbal and that's what matter. That's all that matters.
will davey money wise yes but red bull kept the club in salzburg were as mk dons owners completely ripped wimbledon out of its roots and moved, hence why ive followed afc wimbledon from the day they were formed.
The Metro Stars were the first club I followed when I was little. I don't care for RedBull products, or the way a club essentially gets turned into a giant advert for their company, not having their own crest or identity outside of RedBull. These types of clubs are like puppets for the larger brands. NYCFC is another example that comes to mind with Man City. They're trying to fake a culture and trick a fanbase into thinking they care about them. The Cosmos are a better fit to represent the NY area in MLS IMO.
Cloest to American franchise system you can see in Europe right next to F1 teams. Hell, even the oldest teams either changed to different fanchises or relocated in the past stay in their current form for more than 50 years.
And after forming the club, they ran the club into debt forcing into to be declared insolvent and deducted 6 points for licensing violation, and relegated back to the third tier where its currently a mid table club, so yah....
People need to stop complaining. They're doing the same thing all the other big clubs are doing, they just want results to happen now. Just because they don't have 100 years of history doesn't mean they aren't allowed to spend big money.
Sean Keating agreed people need to realize this and get with the times. If you're a new team and you want success and you put money up to bring it so be it you'll go further than that one team who has 80 years of being around but struggles to stay in the third division
Money indeed is playing big part in football now. But did other clubs change their existing crests? or team colours? or destroy another existing club? or marketing a BRAND everywhere? or buy clubs all over the world with same name, crest, kits, even stadium's name? Red Bull's clubs exist solely because of RB Didn't you see the point here. It's not all about MONEY dude! Watch the video, look at the fans, that is true football. They don't give a shit if they're in 4th or 5th league
In my humble opinion I don't think RedBull is ruining football. It's true rebranding an historic club and change the crest and any sign of identity is dramatic. And maybe RedBull with Salzburg and New York took a shortcut. But with RB Leipzig did it right. Football is changing and modern football combines tradition with money. To me, RedBull is doing the things well. The company is investing locally and they are developing and scouting future good players, even stars. Look at Sadio Mane, he played for Salzburg or Nabi Keita. To me is worst those rich russians or sheiks owners who paycrazy amount of money for player increasing the huge bubble football transfer market is. Like I said if we ignore the rebranding process etc. The Redbull football project is great to me. P.D.: I don't work for Redbull or I'm sponsored by them (In fact I drink Monster lol)
Well it ruins the local leagues though. Red Bull Salzburg is unbeatable for Austrian clubs and that's why they win the cup and the league every year but they aren't happy about it anymore since it's a common thing for them. Also a lot of fans from other Austrian clubs would be really happy if their team could win something again.
If red bull is sponsoring your club, then your club doesnt represent your fans. It represents red bull.
Anthony Long they do sponsor them
Yes Copa 90! These are the sort of videos we want to see
RossHamMil agreed!
"You want more top ten lists centered around English football? Right-O!" ~Copa 90
RossHamMil I'm tired of Premier league shit vídeos .

Welches Bundesland?
I don't ming Red Bull owning teams, I just hate how none of those teams have a real identity. They all have the same crest for fuck's sake
Liam Deschamps If you look closely at the under part of the logo it's different
True, although that shouldn't be the only difference
Liam Deschamps You do have a point. I wish each team maybe had a variant in color for the logo or may the bulls would have different wings.
RB Leipzig 2016/17 #BestInGermany glory hunter
+RB Leipzig 2016/17 #BestInGermany Fuck off glory hunter!
The Austrian AFC Wimbledon and look where wimbledon are now....above MK Dons
chickencurry 60 only that austria salzburg will never be above red bull salzburg
yes, they will. red bull doesnt care about salzburg anymore now that they got leipzig.
even if they dont care. austria salzburg have absolutely no money and will never even reach the first league
the almost didnt even have enough players at the beginning of this season

You should do a video on the rb Leipzig story
Rare Pepe Red Bull bought a spot in Bundesliga. Done. There's the story
Foxtrot6624 no need to be a dick
Rare Pepe lmao butthurt
Craig Miller not really
Duy KudoZ how am I a dick? Wtf lol
Like this, football is a culture, money is important but without culture there is no soul in it

Of course. Football isn't about franchising or commercialism like American football
Ned Kelsey It is. This is what happens when money is brought into play. Get use too it. So sorry.
nah, football is more than that. It's slowly becoming, yes, but not yet
diaz noobietown
Every sport is more than that. However, saying that money is ruining it is idiotic.
+myboyblue 32 You Americans and your shitty opinions 😂

I can't assume where you are from because it is probably irrelevant.

I hate RB teams they just ruin the game I have a lot of respect for Austria Salzburg and I hope that they reach the top flight again
Rob liepzig are 51 percent owned by the fans
Alright, alright. But that last comment "... under half their stadium capacity each home game." is not because there are no Red Bull Salzburg fans. It's one of the biggest stadiums in Austria and every club here has problems to attract people to come to the games!
Every Club except Rapid Wien and Sturm Graz
Not many people go to Red Bull games because it's a plastic club almost no one likes.
Salzburg in rot blau, Salzburg in rot blau, Salzburg in rot blau, das int'ressiert doch keine Sau!
Wienerbursche und rapid spielt ja auch hammer fußball zur zeit, oder? ;)
i'd be happy if you could make a video about rb leipzig and all the protest against them from german fans all over the country :)
This might be my favorite team. I love the spirit of the team. One not many others can replicate.
This team are growing up year by year. That's why we love football. Small club but with intelligent leadership. Keep going💪
Respect to SV Austria from Malmö FF!

how ppl even can support RB salzburg is beyond me!

when you destroy a clubs history and name (keeping in mind that unlike in America the international sports scene is a lot more community-based and teams usually keep their name and location until they dissolve completely, so a team changing their name and location is like heresy to them) instead of developing your own club and use your team to promote your product strictly and put profits over passion and identity that’s when people criticize and lambast you
There wasn’t a backlash when Nintendo bought the Seattle Mariners because they left the name and identity alone and didn’t use the baseball team to sell the next Mario game (tho I know that the Mariners aren’t nearly as successful as most of the Red Bull teams but I was just giving an example) and if, for example Red Bull just kept the MetroStars name (cause I though that was a great name IMHO) instead of changing the name and colors to promote their drink there wouldn’t be an issue (in fact if they had brough back the Cosmos name there’d be an INCREASE of fan support because a lot more people identify with that name growing up)

The biggest problem is, that we're afraid that more companys build their own clubs similar to the Red Bull shit. The only goal of these "clubs" is to advertise the tin. It's a slow process, that will destroy our football. That why stuff like this needs to be stopped immediately.
The Austrian Wimbledon
Leipzig, Salzburg, NY and apparently London soon. hate it.
RICKEY SINGH. redbull has no plan for a club in london?
@@newjustfun6143 Yes they are looking
And there is Red bull brasil but they are in 4th division imagine them putting more money into their brazilian red bull team and getting the next brazilian talents in their europian teams .
@@RavenPaven wrong !! Red Bull Bragantino are now playing in the Brasileirão Serie A, top league :))))))
Reminds me of MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon
Would love to see one of these for the RB Leipzig situation in Germany!
Great Video Though :)
Finally!!! More videos like these please!!! Travel the world!
way to short and ruined by music.. doesnt explain enough..
e.g what happened with the original teams players did they leave to join the new team etc
RealistAFC Take the next step, do some research.
My mum was meant to get me a NY Red Bulls shirt but accidentally got me a Red Bill Salzburg shirt
Burn it.
Simple Meme thats the same Shit dont mind ..write salzburg under the bull and U can have it cheers
Who was the genius who put drum and bass into the video? Loving the choice!
incredible story and video copa90
Great Video really interesting
As an austrian i have to say that red bull salzburg is good for the austrian football because they qualifify almost every year for international football and do pretty well. The other austrian club don't qualify consistently. They do also have the best youth academy in our country where some potential stars get devoloped. Even though the league gets a bit boring every year at the end i'm happy that my country has club that plays really good international football every year and maybe one day they qualify for the champions league which would be very nice.
DrMovieAT Meinst du die Red Bull Liga? Red Bull ist schon der neue Rekordmeister wer soll die stoppen? Spannung pur für die nächsten hundert Jahre
Love these vids
Really great video.
#NeinZuRB
They are a great team. Let's just appreciate it
Donation confirmed lads. Awesome video
Reminds me of Wimbledon, amazing story! All about the fans
great Video!
Come speak with us in NY/NJ about this.
Pretty cool story, but honestly Copa90. Lets take a look at how big money owners have been ruining the game for 30 plus years.
I agree with most of this video but THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO RB NEW YORK, we don't buy our success and have very good fans!
thats actually true since the mls system is totally different to most of the european leagues and also tradition doesnt play an important role since all clubs are pretty young and some new clubs may be created(like atlanta next year)
Why don't you support NY Cosmos tho? It's by far the coolest club in NY!
second division of the us system and will most likely never be moved up into the MLS because of nycfc.
They weren't a team when I started supporting the NY Red Bulls
lol, all of american sport is red bull-like teams that can be sold and transferred between cities freely. it's a complete joke
Football is nothing without fans...they should have know better
Football is nothing without fans, money will never make you happy in itself but feeling that you have a place where you belong make life worth living!
We want our football back ! Against Modern Football
Sounds just like afc Wimbledon's story, so nice to see clubs like these succeed get back to where they belong
Rinchen Rinzing ye but it's not a club it's a brand, it's REDBULL!
I think there are some RB teams (New York and Leipzig) that you can paint their involvement as a positive. This isn't one of them
great video
So basically MK Dons
will davey money wise yes but red bull kept the club in salzburg were as mk dons owners completely ripped wimbledon out of its roots and moved, hence why ive followed afc wimbledon from the day they were formed.
As a Coventry fan I pray to God they take ownership of us.
Similar to the AFC Wimbledon story, I love it
I love the fact that they made their own club, not that a company ruined their original club. Just to clarify
jackpotsb3 coming from a PSG fan 😂
+Amod Adate lmao😂
jackpotsb3 why did you change your dp? 😂
Its a shame that companies like red bull are ruining for football
Leipzig, New York Red Bulls,Salzburg all have identical crests
Damn better story than twilight
Cloest to American franchise system you can see in Europe right next to F1 teams.
Hell, even the oldest teams either changed to different fanchises or relocated in the past stay in their current form for more than 50 years.
Yes, just like Man City and New York City, it's scummy.
And after forming the club, they ran the club into debt forcing into to be declared insolvent and deducted 6 points for licensing violation, and relegated back to the third tier where its currently a mid table club, so yah....
I don't mind wealthy owners like Chelsea, Real, PSG etc. but when a company tries it, it kills football.
Scheherazade manchester chevrolets
Real Madrid doesn't have an owner, they're set up with a president (perez) and vice and so on
Video is brill
Red Bull's clubs exist solely because of RB
Didn't you see the point here. It's not all about MONEY dude! Watch the video, look at the fans, that is true football. They don't give a shit if they're in 4th or 5th league
Stop Red Bull before it starts effecting every league!
It's not ruining every team it owns, Leipzig are top of the bundesliga
You know, if these clubs didn't go bankrupt so often they wouldn't need this outside money
Also a lot of fans from other Austrian clubs would be really happy if their team could win something again.
that udinese and salzburg flag is awesome
Interesting stuff.
