As a Canadian born to Argentine parents, I love Scottish football, and my trip to Hampden was special knowing it was the site of Maradonas first international goal
I remember when I first watched "The crazy day Messi saved his and Argentina's legacy" video on Copa90. I was in tears because I saw a man will his team through the WC qualifiers despite all odds. Watching people crticize and troll Messi for not being able to win an International trophy was agonizing. I would pray for Messi to win just one international trophy before he retired and silence the naysayers. Fast forward 7 years, Messi has now won 2 Copa Americas, a Finalissima and the crowning jewel, a World Cup. He has silenced all doubters and converted many into believers. What a comeback. Unparalleled legacy. Thanks Copa90 for this.
Copa90 is back. Please continue to produce this type of longer form of content. Like the Superclasico doc and the Southampton vs Portsmouth doc. Even the shorter Derby Day videos. This type of content is incredible. Bravo for covering the game like nobody else.
I was in Argentina in March this year, but in the not so touristy San Juan, La Rioja and Catamarca province. The only other tourists there were Argentines from other provinces and Uruguayans. The people were so curious about what I was doing there, as they rarely see tourists. They were so surprised to hear that I had to fly 15 hours to get there and they asked so many questions. Where I am from, what am I doing here, if I like it here, and so on. And they loved that I made an attempt to speak in Spanish. In the end they would always say ''You are very welcome here''. I never had a bad experience. Such great people, amazing food and insane landscapes
That will be the kind of treatment you will get in most of latin america. Of course we have bad things, but we are probably the most welcoming people in this planet.
I didnt even seen the full first episode but as an argentinian and ex football player, I got to say you put in Words a lot of the feelings I had as a child playing everyday in the “potrero”. We didnt had a lot of things but just with a ball made of socks or a punctured old ball we were the most happy childs in the world, playing hours till the sun goes down. Congrats 👏🏻
I'm truly amazed by the quality and the narrative style f this video. it's absolutely flawless. Watching next ep right now. As a video producer and as an Argentinian, I can’t find words to describe who good this piece is. Thank You!!!
Holy Shit! What a Christmas present and great way to start my day. I know the wait has been worth it. All my devices are on Do Not Disturb, cracking a cold one and sitting back to enjoy. Edit: That quote from El Secreto De Sus Ojos, hits every footy loving guy that watches it as the ultimate universal truth. Sort of a football equivalent to The Three Universal Truths of Buddhism.

Argentina is a country so nostalgic for the past that it has inflation, which is like having a very old disease, like tuberculosis. Let's keep talking about the past. It is bullshit to say that Argentina was an economic power between 1880 and 1930. It exported a lot, yes, but it imported much more and what it imported was much more expensive than what it exported. The main export of Argentina in those years of wealth was flour, the main export today as well. Nothing has changed in 150 years. Today it is still like that. While the real economic powers were manufacturing automobiles, airplanes, airships, elevators, gramophones or machine guns, Argentina was manufacturing cookies (although tinplate for packaging had to be imported and in periods of crisis it was complicated).More money went out than came in: for expensive imports, for debt payments, for dividends to foreign companies. The same problems as today. That Argentina, an economic power, had debts it could not pay, lived on foreign loans and investments. Those meat packing plants mentioned in the video were British, as were all the strategic sectors of that economic model.

But never knew about the Napoli thing now coz napoli were NOT a big team when Maradona went he could have went to ANY top team in the world Madrid Barca Juve/Milans etc. but he chose Napoli ive always wondered why. NO WONDER they loved him so much. They all have family back in argentina raving about him in letters and phone calls.
