Awesome design thought and creation. I like these, great idea. You've now added something else to my purchase list. Thanks for the video.

This is such a brilliant idea! Not currently in my budget but I'll be saving up for one!

I found this by accident, but it’s a fantastic idea. If I did small work the steel one would be perfect. Add a little magnet mounted light on a flex arm? I am kinda wanting to do the same thing, but with an 800 pound workbench; starts on wheels and then lifts about 8”

Love the tool cabinet behind you, Brian. Still have my saw, love it. :)

Part of my collection of Gerstners. Those two are mine. I inherited Lee's; they're just out of frame to the left. Plus....another entire set at home in the jewelry studio. I'm both fond of Gerstners and have a *LOT* of little tools to corral.

Aren't you missing a trick. If the tower had a dovetail socket at the bottom, it could be fitted into the dovetail fitted into the bench. Then perhaps also you could stack them. So one tower could take the socket from another tower sat on top of it. You probably just need a plate with holes aligned with the feet of the tower that sits on the bench - then an L bend at the front with a dovetail socket fitted. Screw the tower to the plate and secure it in the bench dovetail socket.

Sadly, no. These are for tables that don't already have a dovetail to mount to. (Mine did, but that was just for show. It doesn't normally have one there.) Also, there are already several 'dovetail extenders' on the market that do more-or-less what you're suggesting. (Mount a dovetail on a vertical plate locked onto an existing dovetail.) Unfortunately, they're all pretty wobbly. The whole point of this one is to make it rock solid. Which requires that the tower extend almost a foot behind the dovetail, to give it solid bracing.

I was wrong - obviously you have thought about it. 😊
