What a delight it is, Jess, to share a new Star Wars show that is set in a timeline completely fresh to both of us. How lovely this experience will be.
Sameeee and Jord is nice too. I look forwards to hearing more of Jecki & others 🙂 Torbin didn't deserve to go like that. I know that we'll see more of him through flashbacks & maybe same for Yndara, but it's not the same. So far i give solid 8/10 to first two episodes. I'll add that with reviews to couple websites that have review option 🙂 I'll restream both episodes before third one lands. Aesthetics, Soundtrack & Wardrobe are quite nice so far. I wish good streaming times to everyone & share el bueno word 🙂
A little unrelated but I just gotta say it was so cool yesterday to see a post going around on Twitter about you that was so beautifully positive. People really adore your reactions in particular your Doctor Who videos. I will admit at first i was like "wait people know about my comfort reactor IDK how I feel about this" but truly love the community you've created here and am always so siked to see ya in my feed and just so ya are aware many many people are too!
with all the bad press with this show, I found it very good. Just had a couple of small details that I picked up on, but that's just me being picky. Can't wait for next week.
Vernestra Rwoh is one of my favourite characters in the High Republic books, but I'm not surprised she grew up to be a green Mace Windu. She was knighted at 15. You don't pass the trials that young by playing it loose with the rules. I can't wait for you to see her lightsaber.
Already digging this show so much. Maybe more cuz of the really vitriolic man babies upset that Osha and Mae had mothers plural and that Amanda Stenberg is equally comfortable with She/they pronouns. As she and the show runner said in an interview this is probably Star Wars queerest show with a multitude of out queer actors in the show.
Just because we have a bunch of queer actors, doesn’t mean we have a bunch of queer characters. The actors are just doing their job. The acting is good, and so far the writing hasn’t gone downhill for me
@@pop-culturecinephile8144 Same as in no Problemo & so far i love this live act star wars telly show 🙂 I have Forever Sub to D+. I sincerely give 8/10 to The Acolyte after first 2x episodes. Later i'll add them via couple websites & to blog post 🙂
@@Fedaygin, sounds neat. Of course the show can either get stronger or weaker as it goes, but I’m going to watch it and find out for sure. I’m not going to do a full review until after it’s over.
The trailers for this show didn’t really impress me, get me excited for this and a few of the live action series have been disappointing. But I Was pleasantly surprised by the first two and they’ve got me interested for the next episode for sure.
There are three phases of the High Republic. This show takes place during the end of the third phase, which is named Trials of the Jedi and is 200 ish years long. The phase directly before this is the Light of the Jedi (a 2-3 year time period), also around 200 ish years before Phantom Menace. And the oldest phase of the HR, Quest of the Jedi, is 150 years before Light of the Jedi phase. So this show is during a time that has only just started in the novels and comics a few months ago, so everyone is essentially in the dark about what's going on. Also, Vernestra Rwoh, the green Jedi master, is one of the characters from the comics and novels that we meet as a kid in the Light of the Jedi phase. So, it's really exciting and intriguing to see her in this show as a 100+ year-old adult decades later.
@@Aewon84 It does, as far as we know. It takes place during the final days of the High Republic, which ends around the 100 years before Phantom Menace marker which is during Phase 3 (as far as we know). That has been known for years. Phase 1 and 3 start at 200 years and 197 years respectively before Phantom Menace and this show is 100 years before Phantom Menace. I know that the phases are publishing phases and not phases in-universe, but that doesn't change the fact that the time period in which the show takes place is at the end of the time period in which Phase 3 novels and comics will be set later on during the Phase 3 publishing. It's just that the ones that have come out so far are set during the beginning of this time period and this show is at the end of that time period. And right now the only way to differentiate the parts of the HR era are via these three publishing phases. Unless they state that the show takes place during the beginning of the Fall of the Jedi era, this show takes place during the end of the time period that Phase 3 is writing about. This show is set 97 years after these first Phase 3 novels and comics. They even have announced a one-shot comic that takes place before Acolyte focusing on Kelnacca. So we'll see how they categorize it. It just comes down to the fact that we only know how to classify the events of this era via what we've been told. And what we've been told has been classified during these 3 publishing phases. If the phase 3 publishing ends before those 97 years end, then this show won't have taken place at the end of this publishing phase, but until they tell us what's what, that's the only way to really describe the time period in relation to those phases of publishing.
I really enjoyed these first two episodes. They weren’t perfect, but I am hooked and looking forward to seeing where the show goes. I know a teeny bit about the high republic from other videos I’ve watched, but this is essentially a new era for me too. I haven’t read any of the books.
The split personality theory was indeed bonkers... but I had the same thought too when watching. Similarly I had no idea Dafne Keen was in this until the past week when Star Wars socials showed her at some pre-launch event.
When there is only one and the Master verifies that there is only one...and everyone sees 2...there's a Gemini about...and a #Gemini...is #2in1 #ThisShow #WOW
Huh. So that’s what happened to Rue after Hunger Games.

A fresh timeline is most welcome.
@@jamesbellefeuille2926 Ikr? I never thought I'd see the day when they'd depict the High Republic era in live action TV series

What is your definition of a "green Mace Windu" then? Strict personality, strong powers and no hair? :P
I hope people overall enjoy the show. We finally have a Star Wars story outside of the Skywalker Saga era, and I want more!
Shocked you didn't watch fallout but glad to see you watching this. I enjoyed the first two episodes quite a bit
She has a lot of shows to watch atm so maybe she'll get to it one day when things are a little calmer

You and I had the same thought about Osha maybe having a split personality so don’t feel too bad 😭

This show has nothing to do with the three phases. Phase 3 is all about the fight against the Nihil and the Nameless.

Amandla Stenberg has👏the👏range👏
Very much martial arts focus. It is based on different martial arts and so on set they referred to it as "Force-Fu"

Sol is the most interesting character.
Also the actor does not really speak that much English
I never knew I wanted Wuxia Star Wars till I got it!
Right? Force-enhanced martial arts seems like such a no-brainer, I'm surprised we haven't gotten it already!
