Personally, I really loved My Little Love including the talking bits, it showcased her vulnerability even more. Not many artists do that especially not in Pop anyway, that was really bold and I appreciate her for that. I think that gave the song more personality, cause we all know she can write great songs but her sharing her emotions and feelings and what she's going through is special
My little love punched me in the gut. Hearing her son really touches me as a divorced mother I loved it. I’ve had convos like this with my boys about why I’ve been sad all day. It’s so relatable and shows I’m not the only one who has gone through this.

@@Jordanbobba exactly. By that logic every artist writing about breakups and relationships is exploiting their partner or ex. Doesn't really work that way. It's not like she made her son have singing lessons just to be on the album. She literally said it's for him to listen when he's older so he can understand why she made the decision to divorce her husband
@@Jordanbobba I think it's more about recording the vulnerable conversation with someone who can't really consent to it, you know? I also felt a bit off listening to it and I appreciate the concept and cried while listening to it but if I am listening to the album passively than the conversation feels to vulnerable and real to be integrated into the song, as much as it's a unique concept. Maybe her son will grow up and doesn't like that she put that heartbreaking moment into the song with him being a part of it... It's like posting a picture of your child in the internet. It's something people do without malicious intent but it can be weird for the child after they are grown, because they didn't want that picture of them walking around half naked in a swimsuit on Facebook. And this conversation feels as intimate as such a picture.
Hold On, To Be Loved and Love Is A Game are the holy trinity of this album, and I'm so glad they're on a row and that that's how the album ends. It's just builds up towards those 3 and it explodes
My Little Love made me shed tears. The crazy thing is that I don't have a kid so the song wasn't something I could say I entirely relate to. But when she started to talk about her emotions in the outro and in the little voice memos with her kid it hit me right in the heart. That feeling of anxiety, stress, confusion, paranoia, loneliness even when you prefer being lonely was so relatable for me. The emotions that song made me have was well needed . The album is so self reflective, vulnerable, raw and real and I believe it was well worth the wait. Also the tone of the song with the instrumentation and the harmonies in the back just made it even better. It's funny because while I was still crying from My Little Love, Cry Your Heart Out started playing and so I did exactly that XD
I think ‘I Drink Wine’ will be overlooked by some others, but it’s truly my favorite along with ‘Hold On’. Incredible record- refreshing, but still an instant classic.
I had the same feelings about my little love throughout until it got the end and she talks about being lonely, I think the purpose was to show how you have to be strong for your children and hold back certain things when they're young, then as the song grew (like her daughter) she could be completely raw and honest about her emotions. Then I found it really beautiful honestly and made the clips with her daughter have meaning.
As a single mom, with a 4 year old son. Her conversation with her SON (haha not daughter) ☺️, really hit home for me. I think it truly was realistic, these type of conversations really do happen in broken families. Children have questions and I kinda really appreciated her showing them. Made me feel not so alone

Truly Adele`s best album yet.I keep changing my mind about which song is my favourite.(To be loved gives me chills). The including of her child (It`s her son ) in "My little one" is very moving ,and relatable to so many people.Stunning songs ,truly some of her absolute best.Has to be Album of the year for sure.
Oh and if you`ve not seen.heard her live (at her home i think) version as she`s recording it for the first time ,try and listen to "To be loved".It IS STUNNING!!.When she finishes ,she says "there were a couple of notes there"!!Oh My Adele ,This honestly gave me goosebumps.
For My Little Love, if you listen to or watch her Apple Interview she goes through the album track by track and talks about the process for each song. She also explains what leads her to documenting so many of her interactions with her son as well as the voicemail that we get at the end to her good friend. And while I understand the perspective you and some other have about it seeming “exploitative” it still is surprising to see that’s what some took from that. While Adele has always been very open about her relationship with her ex through her music, she has also always been fairly private about the ongoings of her life as a parent. I felt like the clips were moments of a very intimate relationship that centered on being very vulnerable as a parent to her child in a way that we haven’t seen before. I think that after all this time, it’s moving that she chose to share that with us. It’s really important to her for people to feel seen by this album. She wants people to feel changed by it and I think sometimes in order to do that we have to be bold in vulnerability and it doesn’t get much more vulnerable than sharing with the world some of the most private things you’re feeling the most guilt, shame and pain around. And maybe she just felt like it’d make her more human. More real to us. It felt like she was laying it all out and she was intentional and brave and sad and true about it. I think that this album is for her and for people who have been where she’s been or will be.. but I think that a lot of this album is also for her son. She’s also said she’s done quite a bit of therapy and yeah, to me, it shows.
i bet that people who say that this is her worst album have only listened to the singles and seen the sales compared to 25, if they actually listened to the entire album from strangers by nature to love is a game, they will change their minds, honestly think this is the best album ever made

Listening to the album was a great journey. Loved old-school Hollywood glamour films vibes, Amy Winehouse moments as well as gospel elements in the background That is a great comeback

My Little Love made me ball my eyes out. I didn't think it was too much at all, it was the right amount of vulnerability and rawness that she wanted in this album. I almost feel like the talking bits were necessary in my little love. As a child, you grow up thinking your parents are this almighty figure that has everything figured out and it isn’t only till you grow up and become one yourself that you understand how much they had to go through in order to figure it out on their own. A lot of people, especially ethnic people, never get to see this vulnerable side of their parents as a kid, and I think showcasing that to the world does wonders in opening kid’s eyes to the humanity of the people they look up to
Your commentary on “My Little Love” is insane, it’s probably the best song on the album, and the voice notes bring a whole new level of vulnerability to it! LISTEN AGAIN!
Adele's interview with Zane Lowe explains the voiceovers with her son on My Little Love, there's a heartbreaking story behind it but it really spoil the song, the in-your-face transparency with the subject of the artwork, demystifying it while still constructing it with the audience, it is very rare when such idea works; the song is very good, but could have been better if the voiceovers were separate on an interlude or something, or just after the song like Lauryn Hill did
@@kathleenclark815 she would voice record conversations with her son and play it back later on for her therapist to see if it was too much for a child, she didn’t know how to talk to a child about adult topics (divorce).
literally in love with this album, every song hits for me but i’ve gotta say my favourites are to be loved, love is a game, strangers by nature, oh my god and my little love !
I’m here a long time since the Rock reacts time and I feel you on the crying and pain . I too have chronic migraines, back ache mental health problems, anorexia and the only thing that makes me feel is music, I feel like at 41 Adele is our generation at its finest and I missed her. ❤️🇮🇪🇮🇪
How can you say that the little talks with her SON (not daughter) are a bit too much? It makes the song so much more special and personal, it's amazing and beautiful.
Agreed tbh. I think she said it was actually her therapist who recommended she record herself talking about stuff with her son. And that voicemail at the me just gets me every time. You can hear the pain and anxiety in her voice x
For me, "Hold On" is probably the best song on the album. It is great both lyrically and production wise. As you said after hearing it, "No one is operating on that music level in 2021". I couldn't agree more! It's already being used in Amazon commercials and will probably be her next single.
Agree. Her next single is going to one of the 3 (4 inc. Easy on me) that she's performing live. Hold on, I drink wine and love is a game. But I think they're mainly just performing love is a game live as an outro so its one of the other 2 for sure
For me the weakest part of this album was the middle 3 songs (cry your heart out, can I get it and oh my god) but the final 3 songs (hold on, to be loved and love is game) was probably some of her best work of all time. Overall a strong album, I like it better than 25.

Talking rubbish
literally in love with this album, every song hits for me but i’ve gotta say my favourites are to be loved, love is a game, strangers by nature, oh my god and my little love !
18:20 "How do you follow that?" Oh you'll hear how
She shook me to the core with Oh My God and To Be Loved 🔥
this is the album of the year from me
“How do you follow that?” *proceeds to sing To Be Loved*
to be loved and my little love hurt so good,,,,,
While to be loved is a great song, my personal favourite is Oh My God. Such a groovy song!
I’m here a long time since the Rock reacts time and I feel you on the crying and pain . I too have chronic migraines, back ache mental health problems, anorexia and the only thing that makes me feel is music, I feel like at 41 Adele is our generation at its finest and I missed her. ❤️🇮🇪🇮🇪
I was waiting for this!!! OMG here se go🙌🏻🔥💖✨
You can hear the Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Ed, Dido, Elton John, Amy influences in this album. So mature.
"YEAH TALK YOUR SHIT" lol I love you Jon 😂
love is a game is lyrically perfection
Yes John mate don't stop the Ads I love to see you flourishing mate!!
I haven't even listened to this album yet so I'm just gonna listen for the first time with you!
Saw her sing I drink wine on the live special.
Amazing piece of art this song.
This album giving me Winehouse vibes in its best places.
I completely agree
I really loved hold on oh my god that was maaaaaad
Had to end video when you stated My Little Love is “too much.” That song is PERFECTION. You’re tripping!!!
i liked the parts with her daughter in to my love it added to the song imo felt so raw
I had the same reaction for 'To be loved'
Phenomenal
Adele is gonna wreck your soul with this Album.. Damn
2nd to last song gives me vibes of that song from the end of a star is born
For me, "Hold On" is probably the best song on the album. It is great both lyrically and production wise. As you said after hearing it, "No one is operating on that music level in 2021". I couldn't agree more! It's already being used in Amazon commercials and will probably be her next single.
Agree. Her next single is going to one of the 3 (4 inc. Easy on me) that she's performing live. Hold on, I drink wine and love is a game. But I think they're mainly just performing love is a game live as an outro so its one of the other 2 for sure
I was convinced Strangers by Nature had a James Blake influence. Was surprised to see he wasn’t involved
For me the weakest part of this album was the middle 3 songs (cry your heart out, can I get it and oh my god) but the final 3 songs (hold on, to be loved and love is game) was probably some of her best work of all time.
Overall a strong album, I like it better than 25.
My Little Love is incredible
You were right I drink wine was insane at the Brits.
Really great and honest review. Completely agree about the Ed Sheeran-esque song 🤣
the daughter reference is killing me. adele has a son not a daughter. lol
He realized his mistake and made a comment towards the top. He did quick research that gave him false information.
I drink Wine WON this album, such a classic adele both melody and lyric ♥
