Makes you think about the quality and tolerances of the original parts manufacture when it is easy to buy out of tolerance new parts!

One very important part to consider is the degree of hardness of the new components, they may be to exact dimensions, but if they are incorrectly heat treated they will not last long, the quality of the material used can have a very big effect on this. You are going to have enough parts to build your cutaway gearbox now , all you need is a casing !

Absolutely, I think the TAS stuff is going to be as high quality as you could expect with repro parts. The cutaway box is going to be pretty cool when I put it together!

@@Greendot319 Having used your TAS T84 parts for several years, are you still happy with them please?

Thanks for this great video. I am also rebuilding a GPW and am currently getting parts together for the transmission. I like the look of those TAS parts. I registered on the IWAH site, but have not been given access to my account yet? Can you say where the "dodgy" parts came from please? I am only too aware of some of the crap out there.. I bought a wheel cylinder, turned out to be indian and leaked!!

Great videos on the rebuild. I would have liked to see how you stacked the bearings, shims, gears and synchronizer assembly before you put it into the case. Where do you buy your TAS, shims and NOS WOF parts from? Keep up the good work. Love the shop cats!

I buy good quality T-84 parts from Brent Mullins jeep in Texas. Bought 2 new WOF cases and a WOF Syncronizer. Will assembe it this spring hopefully in time for the Armed Forces show in Findlay,Ohio.
I've heard very good words on the WOF parts. I've had bad results with the Crown Syncro though.

Can you share where you got those TAS parts? What distributor? Those do look like very high quality parts!

Hi Rob, I bought these from IWAH bearings in the Netherlands. I am unsure who else distributes them but for us in the EU IWAH were very good.

Hi, Great video again. I'm having trouble finding EU IWAH, have you got anymore info please to help me order from them? I'm new to the T84 gearbox (so this video is just the ticket) ,my intention is to purchase a complete set if iners to rebuild my gearbox next winter. Thanks again Dave

Hi Dave, Google search 'IWAH bearings' and you'll have the site! Matt

Hi Matt Thanks, I have found it (in front of me all the time..doh). I have found the list of TAS items listed under Willis Parts. The next thing I have got to get my head round are the O.E.M Ref numbers as they show for example 991058 T/M Main Drive Gear (20-18T) & 991059 T/M Main Drive Gear (20-21T). Would there have been different type spec ratio T84 Gearbox's? or was there only one bog standard type of gearbox that fitted into Ford and Willis. I won't ask a million questions as you have been so helpful in putting these videos on in the first place. Thanks Again Dave

Hi Dave, there are different T84's for different applications but for the mainshaft you need the A5554 17t. Their website is all over the place unfortunately. Google search 'A 5554 17t' and you will get where you need to go!

IMO your best video so far. Much love to your wife and child as it is not easy to share your loved one with a mechanical device. I would be interested to contribute, do you have a Paypal account?

I have a Patreon account where you can subscribe for a $ (www.patreon.com/greendot319) and I post extra info an insight on there, you could also use ebay's thanks button below the video for a direct contribution, anything is welcome and appreciated! all the best Matt
