Dr. Cranky has a great technique for aging chrome. He lightly mists a brown over the chromed part until it looks like it's been sitting out for a while. It's the most realistic look I've seen for chromed parts.

I appreciate your show. I use to build model cars all the time in my late teens. I even won at model car shows. I came out in magazines. I've stopped for awhile. But now I'm starting to get back into building model cars again. Feels great to be back at my work bench building again. Great to hear your tips and tricks. You have a great series here to watch. I really appreciate watching you here
    Keep it up.

Great content. I enjoy learning the techniques, color palettes, style, types of paint or pigment in this case. This is great. I started my first model, and tried the black wash on the toy chrome type parts. From the first video I watched. Every video I watch, I definitely take something away.

😩 I built the Street Rat version just recently and wish I had seen this. I don’t know if I maybe got a bad kit, but it fought me throughout the whole build. If you like realism, from where parts didn’t line up and trimming and adjusting, I had to use 3 types of glue, and so much of them, it looks like a crappy welder welded the parts together. I’m interested to see if you too have to adjust the flip front hinge so the front end doesn’t have a wide gap between the firewall and the front clip. Good luck to you my friend. However, you do have a better arsenal of tools at your disposal. I had to improve, adapt, and overcome a lot.

I don't know you might want to look into it but I've been the past taking old ballpoint pins with the little springs inside I found that those made some excellent realistic coil springs on a fixed rear end and if you can also on the front end with a control arms I've used small wires for fuel lines connected with rubber lines coming out of fuel tanks and things like that might want to play around with that ideal of the springs out of a ballpoint pen also for realistic looking nuts and bolts find you an old watch there's some really micro small nothing bolts in there

I've tried all of the metallic paints out there. Testor, LifeColor, AK, Vallejo, Mr. Hobby, Gunze, Rust-oleum spray cans, Tamiya, and probably a few more. The best of the bunch are All-Clad 2 Lacquer and the Vallejo Model Air line.
    Happy Painting

Just one thing? Your "Y" bar would not go on the bottom of the housing, it says to put it "on top " in the instructions??😁

Using tamiya cement incorrectly. Dries to fast to use on surfaces. Have to touch the parts where they meet. This is two years old so u probably figured this out by now.
