    Beautifully done well built Swiss timepiece at a bargain price. The Gentleman can be a solid addition to a young collector . Myself I just ordered the Blue Dial /Powermatic 80 for a straight bargain but it’s worth every dollar. Definitely one of best budget dress/casual Swiss Autos other then the Hamilton Intra-Matic & Tissot Visodate. Good on Tissot for creating simple but beautiful entry level auto & Quartz dress watches.
    Thanks for vid Double R !

    My Certina PH200M with Powermatic 80 is consistently running as a Master Chronometer and better at -0 to +1.3 spd. Averages +0.7 spd (24 hours). Almost two weeks has passed since I started monitoring/testing and it’s still within those specs above.
    I’m highly impressed with my example.
    Also, Silicium is a great material and is being used by a few luxury makers.

    FYI Rob. Au is the symbol for gold on the Periodic Table of Elements (reach back to chemistry in HS, you've seen it before). Au750 (0.750 fine) is another way of indicating 75% gold content. 100% (0.9999 fine) is 24k gold, so 75%
    of 24k is the widely used 18k gold.

    When I look at that watch, I think, is that bezel a full thickness "solid gold" bezel that would weigh probably 3-5 grams and be worth around a couple hundred bucks? or is the bezel essentially capping the case shape, and mostly hollow, making it a "gold cap" and worth about 40 bucks and maybe 1 gram. I think that's part of the perceived value of this watch.

    • @erickruse4679

    +10 seconds is quite a lot. Can we regulate the watch particularly for a Powermatic 80 movement?

    • @michaelriera6277
      @michaelriera6277 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the watch is fully serviceable. I have one of the earlier powermatic 80 movements and it was serviced by my watchmaker after I dropped the watch on a marble floor.

    • @imranchowdhury4972

    • @michaelriera6277
      @michaelriera6277 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@imranchowdhury4972 yes it can be regulated. The movement does not have a traditional regulating screw, so more difficult for an amateur watch tinkerer. A professional watchmaker can regulate the movement. My watchmaker who serviced my powermatic 80 movement is www.shamifinewatchmaking.com they are in NJ, but I'm sure any reputable watchmaker should do the same. You can of course just send the watch back to Tissot (Swatch Group) if regulation is needed.

    • @imranchowdhury4972
      @imranchowdhury4972 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelriera6277 thank you for suggesting a watchmaker who can regulate the movement. Yes I agree regulating this Powermatic 80 movement is bit difficult compared the traditional movement. That is why I am asking your watchmaker to give me details how to do this. If you kindly ask them to reply me would be nice. Since I live in Bangladesh, it is not possible for me to be there. But if they explain in details then I can get it done through my regular watchmaker.

    • @michaelriera6277
      @michaelriera6277 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@imranchowdhury4972 would this be your first mechanical watch? I only ask because for a mechanical watch 10 second deviation is quite good and we'll within normal tolerance. If you are seeking greater accuracy then perhaps a quartz movement is the way to go. Personally I would not be open the case back to tinker with a mechanical movement as you may end up doing more harm than good...just me.
