Hi guys, you’ll notice when watching the soundtrack has been swapped out with an instrumental version. It’s not, I’m listening to the full mix but I’ve used some AI wizardry [link in the description] to remove the lyrics due to me getting copyright notices on this upload. I’ve checked a few other content creators out there and they seem to be okay, me for some reason, I’ve immediately gotten flagged. I don’t know why. This is also a reason I’ve always been hesitant about covering music videos. Thanks to this AI tool, I might be able to cover the others in this fashion going forward. Enjoy the video!
Most cinematics/music videos from Riot Games (League of Legends) you don't get copyright striked for, but because this one specifically is copyright owned by BOTH riot and NETFLIX, Netflix has been taking down videos of people reacting to this music video. I highly recommend reacting to other League of Legends cinematics that have no relation to netflix. That's just my guess. I've never seen anyone get striked for regular league cinematics.
@@kjqueen2582 There's been some problems with this more recently. There's been some rights changes over the past year that means that people other than Riot have been getting the rights to copyright strike stuff that was formerly purely under Riot's purview. Not sure of the exact logistics, just that a fair few recent reactors have been getting hit in ways that people weren't before.
I think it's kinda funny when you compared the shots with her turning into a "golden warrior" as similar to branding shots because that's exactly what it is. This is a promotional music video for a purchasable skin for her champion in the game along with some lore elements! Another really detailed and informative breakdown, keep up the great work!
You didn't notice the detail that when Ambessa was lying down and the wolf came, at some point you could see that as he stood next to her, he looked at her, then looked at the child she had, and then looked at her again. This suggests that the wolf as death (Kindred) wants to give Ambessa a chance because she has a child.
damn dude, you're so underrated, such extensive knowledge being broadcasted so flawlessly even to a potentially un-educated public in terms of film/video production. After watching this I feel like I could direct a movie myself (not really but that's a good feeling). I personally think you really are one of the best out there analyzing these kinds of videos. Keep up the good work man 👍
Thank you so much for being apart of the community and I'm glad you feel that way. If you feel like you could direct a movie, then you've grown just by watching this. You know what to look out for now too. Gains 💪🏻!
So glad you reviewed this :) Thank you for listening to your community. Also I gotta say, that cursor is hilarious and works great to point out details haha. This analysis was so in-depth and such a joy to watch. Just to provide some explanation, this is Mel's mother from Arcane, Ambessa, when she was younger. As she's dying, she sees the wolf that is a part of Kindred, a spirit of death that guides dying souls to the afterlife. You saw Kindred fighting the guy with a big sword in the Still Here cinematic, although they look different here. Lamb's bow and arrow take the souls of people who accept their death; the wolf hunts down and "eats" those who fight their death. I like to think the light that appears in the wolf's eye is it giving Ambessa another chance, before figuratively transporting her to test her spirit. The person with a spear/shield is the aspect of war, although it's very likely it's just a representation of him and not the real thing; it's just a means to test her. She had no chance of winning, but kept getting back up again and again, and when Kindred saw that, she offered her her 'second chance', literally handing it back. All of this can be interpreted as symbolic, or internal as you put it, because in reality, she held on to life because of her baby; she's pregnant. The lamb is a representation of her innocence dying.
If you want another music video of this quality, check out Rise by glitch mob. It’s a song for the League of legends world championship and the animation was done by Fortiche as well (I believe it was their first major production for Riot). It’s really a full on short film to music more than a standard music video; even more story driven than this one.
I suggest you react to the official Arcane Clips they postet. These are complete scenes from the show used for promotion, so they are great to talk about the Cinematic masterpiece that is Arcane :)
@@kaizammit there are a few clips on Netflix or the league channel - here are the titles: Arcane Season 2 | Nothing to Lose | Official Clip | Geeked Week | Netflix Arcane: Season 2 | Enemy of My Enemy | Sneak Peek | Netflix and a small shorts on the league channel called: Heimerdinger - Professor, scientist and codename newbie of Piltover - joins the Rift 🔧💥 this is the trailer for the whole show (S1+2) Arcane: Season 2 | "Come Play" | Series Trailer | Netflix Official Trailer for S2 Arcane: 2. Staffel | Official Trailer
Here is my take on the videos story content: This character you see here is wounded , young (pregnant with Mel at the battlefield) Ambessa Medarda having a vision about her future meeting the wolf and lamb (=kindred=death). She is the mother of Mel from Arcane we saw already in Season 1 ^^. According to the description this is a vision of her future (at the time - we only know her many years later in Arcane - probably 40 to 50 years old). Apart from Ambessas champion introduction because she comes to the game as well, I am sure this video will have some relevance for S2 (after all Christian Linke, co-creator of Arcane, directed it ;) - even if it is only referenced in a sentence and the purpose is to give us more context with this video or to understand something about Mel or Ambessa better. Just like with the ENEMY video we got a bit more insight into Ekko, Vi and Powders relationship. There is surely a lot methaphors in this and a vision does not necessarily represent reality but I am guessing some bits of reality are mixed in. As far as I can guess, the wolf at the battlefield looks at her pregnant belly(another life!) and disappears- then she desperatly barely manages to protects the little lamb (=innocence, the chance of a swift death for her and probably literally representing the baby/Mel) in the Shurima setting while wearing a white, feminine dress(=innocent) without scars. From her bio we know now that her family worked in Shurima but I wouldn't cross out that her ancestors are from Shurima as well bc noxus invaded Shurima at some point and she fits the shuriman appearance. I think this is representing her will to protect her child but she bearly manages by all the chaos and threats around her- you can see her desperate look while trying to keep the lamb in her arms, close to her body - bc of being occupied with protecting the little lamb she is not able to fight back and is poked around by the mysterious figures"no peace till I lead them all"- probaby the reason she exiled Mel later on. She actually does not want to give the lamb up but sees no other choice in order to manage the situation - you see her agonizing over this while "Don’t wash my spirit, don’t cleanse my soul" is sung (while still wearing the white dress on that stone with the white/blue paint on her face saying "cause that's is all I know"). She exiled Mel in order to protect her while saying to her that she was her weakness which is the truth and probably represented here. She couldn't protect Kino and does not want Mel to end up dead too. Ambessa can not protect Kino/Mel while fighting back and ruling. Ambessa gives up the lamb(that she literally holds dear like a baby) and her own motherly feelings while making a pact with Kindred (looks different in every region - I am guessing this is the noxus kindred) and ascending at the end to a mighty warrior after a long fight with the aspect of war- Pantheon. But even though she archieved glory at the end you see images of her unborn baby Mel flashing before the golden mask and that Ambessa - the image as a mighty warrior in her mind which is the new skinline - is still shaken/affected by that -meaning she is still her weakness. Maybe not all of it is a vision - maybe Ambessa actually did a pact with kindred while Mel was in her belly at that battlefield and that might be a reason for her to survive the attack on the council bc she got some power? The eyes of the baby lit up in gold! And we know that Mel's colors are gold! S2 will probably shed some light on that. I also wanna point out how much young Ambessa resembles Mel - they did such an amazing job here - the eyes here literally look like Mel. The singer also sounds literally like Ambessa which is so cool making this completely her song! So Ambessa kind of used to be softer like Mel imo but she abandonned that to be a mighty leader. The fight with pantheon is probably symbolic - he is the aspect of war simply representing the many battles she fought and the scars she got from that. I am speaking here in the past bc we know Ambessa later has these scars in Arcane S1 but in this video all of this is Ambessa's vision of the future if she walks the path of a wolf, which she did! She said in S1 ep 8 "A wolf has no mercy". Only we know that there is already some truth in this. The golden armor represents the might for every character and how overwhemingly powerful the ememy is in her eyes - probably the reason why some targon/solari armor/setting comes in (bc you can ascend by climbing targon and fightng the aspects) in this vision to represent this. The throne also looks more targonian than noxian - but still this is a vision so it could be mixed in her mind. The targon references might totally be a production of her mind to symbolize the ascencion and gaining power. I don't think that this literally happend but represents what awaits her in the future, showing Swain and Katherina behind Pantheon - probably later enemies she has to face. Probably faced them or is about to face them already when we are in Arcane S1 though! I still think that Swain is the one that killed Mel's brother. This video is very interesting and confusing for the community bc we don't know what is real or if is a complete production of her mind. The scene were she protects the little lamb in her arms could very well be a shuriman ritual as well (the blue guys seem to be painted and not actually skin is blue) and a flashback from her past but we don't know. Arcane S2 will probably shed some light on this to understand it better. After seeing her bio I believe this little lamb she holds and gives up with the blue bracelett symbolizes her son Kino which we know in S1 died. The blue kid holding the little lamb is probably him as well. It is written in her bio that she loved her son dearly who chose not to walk the way of the wolf "he found himself a fox among the wolves". She probably grieves in that shot of her doja cat moment since she has white and blue paint on her face- white for an innocent life and blue for Kino. Imo the wolf Ambessa sees is looking like a real wolf that looks so much less menacing because, as being a part of Noxus later on, this is like her spirit animal. The lamb on the other side looks terrifying and so much different from the "still here" cinematic. Probably bc a real warrior does not wish for a swift death much like the vikings, who feel shame if they do not die on the battlefield. That's probably why the lamb looks like the menacing one here to her. BUT in both cases this only happends in a dire situation where the person has a vision/illusion (?) of kindred. This video promotes 3 things: Arcane S2, the new skinline "chosen of the wolf" and the book novel that comes out 18th feburary of 2025: Ambessa - Chosen of the Wolf.

Totally random but I've watched a number of your videos after recently finding you through recommendations and you've mentioned anime and other foreign works a number of times. I have to ask because I'm especially interested to hear from an filmmakers perspective have you heard of or seen the Monogatari series or anything by the author NisioisN thats been adapted? The reason I ask is especially with Monogatari it is unbelievably unique in almost every way and heavily influenced in direction by French new-wave films which I rarely see anyone talking about or referencing as well as doing what basically every filmmaker ever is told is a cardinal sin by being like 95% dialogue its literally tell don't show (though accompanying visuals to enhance or give depth to conversations are basically a constant) yet it's largely considered absolutely incredible despite a number of detractors bothered by both its direction and handling of some subject matter. Would be really interesting to hear a filmmakers perspective on something that breaks so many rules yet is largely considered an acclaimed piece in the medium.
I've not heard of it so I'd definitely be interested in checking it out. If it's a movie, tv show or anime then I only post it on the Patreon as I also include the content we're watching together and TH-cam would be all over my for copyright. Thank you for watching the videos and hanging out with me, I really appreciate it. I hope you've subscribed so you don't miss out on the next batch of content coming

kai i just found a new channel to the indie animated series space, Spice Frontier | Official Short Film im hoping with more eyes on them they can succeed in luanching a full cartoon. theres also ongoing indie shows like punch punch forever and tales of alethrion
Sounds good!
Hey man, I’ve been watching all of your Halo reactions and you mentioned you’ve read the Fall Of Reach. Please check out the animated film version of it. It’s on TH-cam somewhere I believe.
Will do!
Definitely recommend getting into arcane
Boi you gotta watch Rise next!
Is that a League music video?
@@kaizammit It's the League of Legends world championship trailer for the year of 2018 and in my opinion, it's the best cinematics that Riot have ever put out. It's made by Fortiche, the animation studio responsible for Arcane and this video as well.
Um, I thought the Still Here cinematic was a music video? What’s the difference?
A good rule in the lol videos. If riot spends $$ on a character in a video there 100% a character
Still waiting for that death stranding reaction 😭
I did a poll recently on the Patreon, Death Stranding didn't win so it's been pushed back. I will cover it though.
@@kaizammit oh, my bad I didn't know abut the poll 😅, love your reactions though!
