Yes she is Ambessa the mother of Mel and she was pregnant, the stuff about the lamb and wolf is the personified death. Death is called Kindred and Kindred is death that split itself into two entities a lamb for those who peacefully accept death and the wolf who fight death. Ambessa is a person of Noxus and Noxians worship the Wolf because the are all about fighting and war, so they obviously dislike the peaceful death. In this Video Ambessa was near death, as we saw the wolf approach and then the wolf tested her, the test was the fight against the person with the shield and she overcame the challenge and survived. So at the end the Wolf retreated.
Close! There is more to it. First, the one she fights is Pantheon "Aspect of War" so you can say that she was trained by War. Next, the lamb she hold on can be see as her young naive self. By sacrifice it to the wolf she truly became a warrior or some may said the wolf choose her son in her womb as sacrifice so she will live to fight another day. And all or the gold amor warrior are call "Chosen by Wolf".
Lore time ! First of all the video was done mainly to promote a new skinline that's why there's different characters appearing with this golden armor look. Now from a lore perspective, you're following Ambessa's (Mel's mother in Arcane) past when she fight (litteraly and figuratively) for her survival. She's being put to a trial by Kindred (the character that gives the weird wolf statue towards the end) to see if she deserves to continue living. Kindred are the equivalent of the grim reaper in the league universe except they're represented by 2 characters : the Lamb who kills you when you accept death, and the Wolf who hunts you if you try to resist. So in the trailer, Ambessa's giving away the "way of the lamb" (represented by the lamb statue being torned apart) and she accepts the "way of the wolf" by taking the wolf statue from Kindred. Meaning she won't accept a calm death and will fight for her survival.
I don't think she was just fighting for her life. We know that Ambessa is the Matriarch of War (both, in Arcane and LoL) and she was fighting against Pantheon, The Aspect of War (an Aspect is like a kind of god in Targon's region). So...I think there's a thread over there, but I don't catch it....
@@zeoxxyss The problem is that with pantheon getting a skin in this skinline, it could just be to showcase the skin too since kata and swain are showed for no reason except them being in the skinline. I'm pretty sure Riot is giving us this fight between the aspect of war and matriach of war for the hype, like kindred the death and tryndamere that can't die in still here. They use the lore to hype us up and it's cool.
This isn't the aspect of war. Aspect of war is dead. Those are just avatars of the previous chosen if the wolf which fits all these character, because all of them were close to death. @@marwinnazon7129
@@zeoxxyss I interpreted them as figures the wolf imitates that represents the other people who nearly died but persisted as well. Under that perspective it would mean that pantheon/aspect of war was not there just portrayed by wolf. She was fighting for her life and respectively her unborn daughters life as well since the baby would die if she did obviously. If you watch closely the Kindred even used their ultimate ability "Lambs Respite" which creates a zone on the ground wherein creatures cannot die while it remains up. When the spell completes it then heals all living being in it for a small amount to stabilize them. The only glowing we see from this spell are the Red Runes that get burned/etched onto the soil beneath her. The red lines appear in a few frames near the end, when the wolf leaves the red marks are gone but you can still see the area under her that got burned and they creates a series of lines and shapes that you can see clearly. This would confirm that she was near deaths door, if it was just the arrow shot she was suffering form she shouldn't' have been bleeding from her mouth, nose and side of her forehead too. She was in bad shape and dying when the Kindred approached her and they used the ultimate to keep her alive while they tested her. had she failed the wolf would have claimed her, but she didn't, so they instead let the spell finish and heal/stabilize her. This is partly how shes able to get back on her feet afterwards whereas before she was stuck on the ground. I'll try to condense this some later.
Yeah that video was made by studio Fortiche which is doing Arcane as well. They did "Get jinxed" music video for riot back in like 2015. Riot was so impressed by the work that they asked Fortiche to make an animated series, which took them several years to create. Their animation is so much better now compared to "get jinxed".
Idk if they asked them but they definitely partnered with them and then invested. However, Christian kept them afloat when the first draft of ARCANE was rejected. The project that kept their lights on? K/DA 😅
The singer Sheryll Lee Ralph is an absolute Legend (no pun intended) of an actress with a music, TV and film resume longer than your arm. She absolutely killed this song.
I found this AMAZING video that was created 4 days ago. It explains the entire story of LoL from the very beginning all the way up to ARCANE. - Arcane: The Complete League of Legends Lore Timeline Explained It's a bit long so if you can't do all of it in 1 setting, then maybe split the video in 2. Though I do think it would be best to watch the entire video on the same day.
It's because riot doesn't just release one type of music videos. You got worlds anthems, seasonal cinematics, event cinematics, character cinematics, etc. They would definitely have different tones because they're all made for different purposes.
I absolutely adore this song and this video My understanding of the plot of it is that Ambessa is dying on the battlefield, and Death itself appears to test her strength and her grit to see if she is worthy of entering an afterlife for only the greatest of warriors, sort of like Valhalla. She battles the soul of another great champion and also has flashbacks to weirdly metaphorical versions of her life and her transformation from an innocent little girl to an experienced warrior, and even has a brief vision of her future as the great general we know in Arcane She eventually passes the test and earns her warrior's afterlife, but instead she chooses to live because she is pregnant with Mel and building a future for her family is more important to her than anything, even the fate of her own soul
So Ambessa was dying on the battlefield and was approached by 1/2 of Runeterra's Avatar of Death, the Wolf. Usually, it's the Lamb & Wolf, Lamb offering a swift arrow, signifying a peaceful death. While Wolf chases you down in a vicious chase, signifying a terrible & violent end. But Noxians don't believe in a peaceful end, so the Wolf is more revered, so Wolf shows up more on Noxian battlefields. Wolf's Death Bite starts a test, and Ambessa sees the past, present, & possible future. She fights other warriors who passed the Wolf's trial. (This also is a skinline video, we see her fighting Pantheon another League Champion.) She sacrifices her peaceful life & hopefully peaceful death when she offers up the Golden Lamb and gets back up no matter how hard Pantheon (Wolf) hits her. Passing the test. The Final Form Ambessa is theorized to be what the next warriors will have to face as Ambessa wakes up and is spared by the Wolf.
Yeah it suppose to be Ambessa (Mel's mom from Arcane), it looks like she died while carrying Mel in her womb, but then got chosen and revived by Kindred (the wolf and the lamb you see, they are the embodiment of death in the League of Legends universe).
nah she didn't "die and was revived"... that's not how kindred works. kindred approaches those close to death and gives them the option to go peacefully by the lamb (accept death) or an option to fight for survival and basically is fighting the "wolf" when they do not accept death. Ambessa clearly does not accept death and fights her way off deaths door to survival.
Mom Ambessa Medarda was just added to Legends of Runeterra, and I´ve heard that to the main LoL game too. So is this her intro video? And, was that Kindred? Wolf and sheep?
Yeah, that would be Ambessa, Mel's mother in Arcane. The wolf is Kindred, kind of personification of death giving her a fighting chance to reclaim her life. The other references, like who Ambessa is fighting, others can explain better than I can since I'm only somewhat familiar with LoL lore.
Just read the description of the video!!! many reactors have questions easily accessible by clicking on the description... the comments would gladly take it a step deeper in terms of lore if needed... but the surface stuff is usually available in the descriptions of videos... at least in Riot´s case it seems that way
he thought he can just jump into this video and be ok with it. My man thats league of legens you eighter fall into it or just sit outside and stay away :)

“Reminds me of a certain mother” I know exactly who you’re thinking of and you are 100% correct, this is the arcane dommy mommy.
There’s a couple theories but we know this is ambrosia and she’s definitely pregnant at the end but we don’t know if it’s Mel or Mel’s brother.
It's Mel. Confirmed in Ambessa's bio. @@Al-bs5lj
