When I have experienced (& understanding) consequences for sin, I began to contemplate wrath and being children of wrath. When I began to fear wrath, I began to weep every time I recognized God’s mercy. Much different than watching for blessing popping up like surprise gifts in my day. I am so grateful for mercy!
Just last week I was talking with the Lord. I thanked Him for telling us in Isaiah that His thought and ways are so far above us as the heavens are above the earth. Immediately the scripture, “ God is love” came into my mind. I said to Him that since His ways and thoughts are far above ours, then so must the thoughts and actions of real love be above our understanding and thoughts. I have often struggled with God’s love. We suffer and go through trials and tribulations and wonder why. But God has promised that “all things work together for good to those who live God and are called according to His purpose”. God is a mystery, and so is Love.
To know God is love, forgive everyone. Matthew 12.7 7If you had known what these words mean, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice,” you would not have condemned the innocent.
Just as God is the I AM, he is love. There is no reason for God being love, he just is love. It's part of his glorious attributes. It's not something to understand, because it's not something from reason, but an attributes that just is. it's something to experience than just knowledge to understand. Experience his love, put your self around people who are filled with his love, helps. That's why God puts us in community because we need each other.

Yes. God is knowable. I wasn't raised in church. When I experienced the rebirth, I prayed a simple childlike prayer. I said to God the Bible says your my father, but my father left when I was 2 and the man my moms with is abusive. I need you to help me know you as father because I don't know what a healthy father-daughter relationship looks like. As I diligently sought God, He continued to reveal more of Himself to me.

And people don’t recognize Gods holiness. I wish they could see how corrupt we are and that Holy God still loves us and sent Jesus to die in our place so that we could be redeemed. He is love but He’s so much more!

Chan seems so intense and faithful to God. I don't understand how he can have an ecumenical religious belief. If he really believed in the wrath of God he wouldn't be telling Catholics they are saved. If they believe the doctrines of the Catholic "church" they are lost and bound to hell.
Really enjoyed this on this Sunday morning. I teach some at my church and I feel that the Holy Spirit for the past 3 weeks has been prompting me to teach on hell. It has been very difficult to put it together to say the least. Very uncomfortable topic. But again there are two sides to talk about. We usually want to take the easy subjects and leave everything else out. God help us to teach the whole book!! Love your show Kirk.
