So how are you doing now? I am 63 years old beginner and I am starting with this piece.

@@Whitfield369 It was that time when I wrote this comment too difficult for me. I was that time an absolute beginner and thought I can master everything. Need only practising. This was not true. I took 20 hrs by a professional piano teacher. This helped me a lot. For all beginners my advise: take some hours and get some basics explained. TH-cam is very good. Many perfect videos but they all can not compensate personal piano lessons. Well. My opinion. Many might have the opposite opinion. Happy practising and good luck!

@@andreasmaier5361 Thank you very much for the advice. I tried many times in my life picking up piano when i was much younger. It was quite easy for me to learn a piece like this in a couple of days. But then for one reason or another I could not find the time to continue, and now it is decades ago already. This time I find it is a lot harder to learn. So I am interested at how you progress since you also started at this age.

Thank you so much. I am a beginner and learning to play this piece by following videos. I watched the first lesson today, I learned a great technique from you today how to learn any new music and practice again and again. Many are in such a hurry to learn something quickly, but this technique of yours approaching every bar step by step and practicing repeatedly taught me how to learn something. Thank you so much.

I agree with everyone else....this is the best lesson for a beginner like myself. After 50+ years playing guitar I decided to try to learn piano. That was 5 days ago and this is my first song. Having spent time with other tutorials I now have to go back and undo the bad habits and learn it correctly....thank you ever so much for such valuable teachings.

Fantastic Tutorial! I absolutely love music but never had any music lessons and cannot read music. This is a great inspiration to learn! - with this excellent resource I WILL learn and it will take me into reading music.
Just one question: are there any rules about fingering: in the very first part (left hand) I notice that you use the thumb to hit the E note, whereas my inclination is to use the index finger. Will this take me up the wrong path, to a habit that I will find difficult to break? Thank you again - you are the best!!

Mila don't give up. He makes it so easy to remember. You have to keep trying and will get it. I'm through with part 1. Going on part 2 now. Keep on practicing, practicing and practicing and you will see how "easy"it is.
He makes it easy, the way he teaches. He has a lot of patience. One of the best teachers, if not THE BEST in the internet. I felt like you did at first, as I'm also a beginner, but I kept on trying and to my surprise, I did it. After a lot of practice.
You can do it too. Never give up. Keep on trying and with this excellent teacher the sky is the limit. Subscribe to the channel and you will get other songs too. Good Luck. God bless you. And keep us posted on your progress.

Please help me! I just found this gentleman and have some questions. Please keep in mind, none of my questions are meant to dispute anything he's done. I'm an older man whose piano teacher just assigned him this piece to learn. When he's playing the first part, he plays the C and E with the left hand. It appears he's holding the C and then adds the E and holds them both down together until he's almost to the next C E. Is that right? If so, why is the C held down? And how long are they both held down? I really like his fingering with both the right and left hands. And finally, are the notes sixteenth notes?
