      Bitesize Piano: Hi Francesca. I checked out your website and it’s very impressive.
      I’m just a beginner and can barely read sheet music but wanted to learn my first classical piece. I did it thanks to you and finished learning Bach Prelude in C Major from your TH-cam channel.
      I was wondering if you have a email I can email you a video of me playing it?
      Also another thought. It might be fun if people are up to it and post people playing your songs after they learn from your tutorials, perhaps a page on your webpage for piano students from all over the world learning. I’m excited to share my excitement of learning my first classical piece because of you. Just an idea or thought to consider.
      What is your email? I didn’t see it on your webpage? Again thank you so much for teaching us all. You are such a wonderful teacher! 😊🙏

    Thank you so, so much. Adult beginner started in March and doing plinky-plink pieces from a widely-used kids beginner book - aaand just wanted something more, something inspirational - and this is it! Have really, really loved learning this. Started this 5 weeks ago, am taking it slow, doing a bit each day and halfway through, being careful to make sure I use the right fingers and all. But can now finally play something that sounds decent(to me - am prob murdering it)! Am so grateful to you. Piano teachers for adult beginners take note. Yes, we need to learn how to play - of course we do.. but we also to be inspired too!

    What I love the most about your tutorials is that you take the time to show the fingering with your actual fingers as they move across the keys. This is so important for adult learners! I recently started practicing again for meditation and focus. Thank you! 🫶🏽🫶🏽
    I also love how you name/call out the keys as you touch them. Beautiful free tutorial! 🥰🥰👏🏽👏🏽

    Than you so much -what a brilliant tutorial- great patience and love how you explain it with what notes to play, as I cant read music that well. When you hear it played in concert it sounds so grand and epic but once you have deconstructed it it's quite a manageable piece to play. Then it comes down to the individuals interpretation of how it all flows together.

    Hello Francesca: I'm not sure if I should ask my questions here or log into my account which I signed up for yesterday. When starting with the left hand, why not place finger one on the E and the third finder on the C. That way the fingers are on the keys they'll play and don't have to move around? Also, at the beginning of the play with the left hand, why are the C and E held down? Is there something in the music that indicates this? I slowed this down to half speed and it's easier to follow during the learning process. Thank you so much, Bob

    This video is supremely helpful and I thank you for sharing it. 2 questions - why is this named Prelude in C Major when it contains sharps? I'm sure there is some reason for it that is beyond my current understanding. Also, what level would you say this piece is? Being self taught it can be difficult to choose pieces to learn in a logical order.

    • @BitesizePiano
      @BitesizePiano  ปีที่แล้ว

      They’re called accidentals, which are altered notes that don’t belong to the scale/key signature. I’d say this piece is around grade 2/3 level

    in sheet music i am ref there is an extra bar between 23rd and 24th which goes G Eb B C Eb B C Eb , is it wrong?

  • @ManuelDePablos
    @ManuelDePablos 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi - thanks
    Quick question. On the music sheet i see the second note of the left hand in esch bar is “played” as the 1st note on the right hand. However, that’s not how it’s played.
    So my question is why does the music sheet appear to have these notes played simultaneously?

    • @BitesizePiano
      @BitesizePiano  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sometimes it’s more reader-friendly to ‘borrow’ a stave for a few notes instead of creating ledger lines or changing the clef. This is very common. The key is to look for the direction of the note stems. They are not played simultaneously, they are not in line with each other and there is a semi quaver rest to show the next note is played after a semi quaver beat.

    Sorry! I keep accidentally hitting the 'DISLIKE' button when I try to keep my screen from going to sleep while practicing. I really like your tutorial so ignore at least 4 dislikes, they were probably me by accident.

      It acts like a toggle, so if you accidentally hit it, hit it again intentionally and immefiately and it gets reset.

    I really don't see the purpose of this. Without explanation reading all the notes excruciatingly sliwly. A person who reads notes reads anyway, who can't read won't after you play anyway.
    I was hoping for more insight of the chird progression etc.... pity. Wasted 30 min.

      😂 this is a TUTORIAL on how to play it, not a theoretical analysis. Perhaps read the title and description before watching something for 30 minutes, and then refine your search to find a video specific to what you’re looking for. Don’t post a shitty comment on a video because you’re expecting it to be something it doesn’t claim to be. Have you read all the other comments that say how helpful this is? This is a FREE lesson for those who want to play this piece, and perhaps want extra reassurance that they’re playing correct notes. Bore off with your pointless comment 👋🏻

    I'm an adult beginner (sort of) and apparently this is supposed to be one of the easiest classical piano pieces to learn for beginners, so I decided to start with Prelude in C Major. I am nervous! 🫶🏽🫶🏽
