  • What is it like to go through the first servicing of your motorcycle in Japan? Does it cost a fortune? Find out more in the first part of the video.
And in the second part of the video find out how to install the Shad SH48 top box and what are my first impressions of it.

Good to see that the top case won’t interfere with the gas tank cover.

Shad make an excellent quality rack to fit the NC but their boxes are ridiculously expensive for a plastic moulding.
If I was doing it again I would still buy the Shad rack but would buy a cheap box instead and save over £100.

I have to agree that the plastic box is really expensive but wait till you see the price of the Honda OEM aftermarket box and panniers.

Can I own the 2021 NC750X without ever going to the Honda Dealer for service? Like can I do all the stuff myself via DIY videos on youtube???

The simple answer is yes. You can DIY most of the stuff by yourself and nowadays there are plenty of resources online to help you with it.
Everyone have different preferences. Some prefer to do everything themselves and enjoy the process, some might prefer to leave it to others to sort out the motorcycle for them.
For me, it is generally a cost benefit analysis: If I can I confidently get something done by myself efficiently (and that I have the right tools), I will try to do it myself (installing the aftermarket screen as one example). However, if I do not have the skills, or the right tools, or have to worry about disposal (for example, used engine oil), I would prefer to have someone else to take care of it for me =D

Very interesting. Will you be getting panniers as well?

Unfortunately not at this moment. So far the frunk and top box seems to work well enough. Will most likely go for Shad if I do eventually convince myself to get panniers.

Not sure if youre living in JP temporarily or what but.. can you do a cost of living or how i moved from SG video please!

That sounds like a good idea! Let me plan a little. Currently, it is winter in Japan and I am riding a lot less so a video about the cost of living or how I moved from SG to JP could work too. Anyway, currently I have lived in Japan for over 5 years now and not sure when I can get back especially amidst the COVID-19 situation =D

Good point. The motorcycle is definitely great for beginners but I am not so sure whether it is suitable for women just because it comes with automatic transmission. I have been riding motorcycle for around 10years and still find that it is a great motorcycle that suit my needs =D
