John, Hope your reading this. Please come back and perform again! Your one of the few True guitar Maestros still around (as we've lost Gary and Edward). It would truly be great to see you again! 🙏🎼❤️
Bass player was Rockin the Mullet...... Sound Garden was out... and just about to put their foot on the Necks of the 80’s...😳 What a breath of fresh Air it was........
No matter how many times I watch this video I get goosebumps and a lump in my throat, it's so good! Can you imagine being in the audience of a show like that and being confronted by this unbelievable power trio ripping their faces off! Sykes' is a master in every way. Those rhythm guitar parts are very difficult on their own, let alone singing over the top of that with a vocal line that is rhythmically different! Yet he makes it look effortless and manages to pull it off so confidently. That lovely wide slow vibrato is signature Sykes. He nails the solo and literally every part of the performance is flawless.
Fucking sick! Stripped down, raw, loud, in your fucking face. I love this band, all are exceptional players who have style and charisma. Timeless rock and roll.
This is a song aaa off of our debut album. Were a band called Blue Murder. The album is called Blue Murder. The track is called Blue Murder. My name is Blue Murder. I'm playing a Blue Murder guitar. My strings are Blue Murder's, and my hair was done at the Blue Murder salon! Bwhahaha! Awesome live performance.
Tony Franklin has always been so fun to watch.....never know if he's just a born entertainer or a little nuts.......probably a little both, but he certainly adds to the show
Plus record companies censored rock bands that they simply didn’t like. It wasn’t as easy to be noticed then as it is today with all the social media platforms
@OUtsidethenine4eva who cares how they look....listen to how great they are playing. ....by the way the barefoot guy is Tony Franklin...the Fret-less Monster-BASE PLAYER
Bass genius Tony Franklin tweeted recently that this "live" version was recorded in the studio a few days earlier with only the vocals being live on the day. Great band though. Shame about the hair cuts lol.
i can swear i hear a fretless bass on Whitesnakes "looking for love"- anyone know if its really neil murray on that track? Things were so screwed up w/ recordings of british bands back then (like black sabbaths weird credits and not knowing who played on albums in the mid 80s)
Why didn't blue murder make it? Bassist dressed like boy George. Drummer looked like a pirate, guitarist had better hair than all women. All were a little iffeminant and over the top image but rocked. . Too bad. Jelly roll should have been released before valley if the kings. Valley made the band look like tolken . Plus the vocals meandered on the albums. There was alot of singing. Sykes has a good voice , but there was alot prolonged notes take the end of.jelly roll. A. Nice arrangement but could have been its own song, and it seemed to force a vocal effort on an upbeat rock song.. that was always my perception, and not hindsight. It was a good, different album.
@OUtsidethenine4eva The BASS PLAYER is barefoot and judging by your comment I think it's safe to say that intelligence is not actually your strong side....
Anybody else try to click on the gear for a better picture? Ain't gonna happen, this is before good video. Sykes WAS Whitesnake....you can tell here...fucking genius
I can't imagine the stresses they feel as I have never been there, and regardless of our income, we all have stressors, but I always see this amazing talent yet these guys tend to have such horrible reputations like so many say about working with Sykes (NO ONE is ever just complimentary) or Blackmore (NO ONE I mean no one EVER has a nice word to say about Ritchie and it seems like such a sad legacy to be hated by so many), Jeff Beck is never spoken of as a good person, Jake E Lee seems a bit off at times socially, EVH is looking like a worse person every time he opens his freakin mouth and his overt arrogance is such a turn-off, and there's so many more out there it makes me sad. I think I would want to known as a good person, not like some surgeon who they say of, "His bedside manner stinks; but he knows his stuff" and as a medical person myself I always answer that with; if your bedside manner stinks I say you DON'T know your stuff!" because HOW you treat someone else speaks the most about YOU, and how can someone go through 12-20 years of schooling and training like some surgeons and still can't figure out bedside manner matters........same with guitar players enjoying million dollar incomes because of good fans who support them.....just be grateful and treat others with SOME courtesy and respect. At the end of the day your shit does stink......so I have been told
Ice 18 Bingham: I’ve 18 Bingham: So much truth in your comment. It’s so unfortunate and sad. I’ve been working professionally in the music biz aka the circus since my early 20’s. (turning 60 this yr) I was a working member of the Blue Murder/Sykes camp early-mid 90’s. There’s obviously exceptions to this. On the flip side quite a few of these axe masters aka guitar gods are a lot more humble & thankful than you’d imagine. -DB Simmz
I'm fan of John Sykes but i had to hit the dislike because of the gay base player playing in barefeet i would have beat the holy shit out of him if i was John Sykes!!!!!!
John Sykes ......monster ....love that twang. Creamy sweet harmonius leads. The 80s...never gonna see a better decade.
John, Hope your reading this. Please come back and perform again! Your one of the few True guitar Maestros still around (as we've lost Gary and Edward).

John sykes, legend
Virtuoso 🎸

I remember very clearly the day in 89 I got this album on tape..it totally blew me away..and still does..Sykes is so talented..
Wonderful performance‼️😃✌️👍💪😮🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great band. John Sykes, Tony Franklin, and Carmine Appice all excellent!

Astonishing performance ❤❤❤
Absolutely hands down master of the Les Paul !
This band has been always so underrated but not for me because I have listen to this album over a million times, it never gets old on me!!!
Just to tell how old I am. I remember as a kid staying up late and watching this live.:( the original Blue Murder were amazing musicians. Killer band.
Tim Fox 🤘
Bought the album when it was released. Still give it a listen now and again. Very impressed by that performance.
Hung out with John, a cool guy. Amazing performance.
I grew up on Thin Lizzy... Love YOUR work and especially this one. We play it whenever we plug in
Such an amazing performance. This kills the studio recording.
The weird looking guy with no shoes on is Tony Franklin - a bass guitar LEGEND
One of the best live rockin performances! Fun to watch. Ive probably watched this 30 times over the last year
Greatest band in rock history! Amazing!
Tony Franklyn is a legend!
Not because of his clothes kkk
Bass line is kickass!!!
The outro is kickass!!!
Sykesy Looking and Sounding as Fantastic as Ever!
It doesn't get much better than this. Weird Al is like struck by lightning.
Saw him last night playing with Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Tony is still one of the baddest bassists.

Soo cool dam it would be cool to meet john. But meeting carmine at namm show was pretty cool
Stand up and be counted 😮
DUDE! These guys are ROCKING SO HARD!!
Wooowww..amazing... 😱
im buying an agile les paul clone (black) and dirty fingers gibson pickups just because of John Sykes
They make it look easy, but... Tree guys doing so much music!!! incredible. Thanks for sharing it.
All i can say Insane Performance❤❤
Gotta be one of the coolest bass lines ever
Love this song! Blue Murder reminds me of UFO in that I can't understand how they didn't become a huge hit?!?!?
The band came out just whenever hair metal reached its climax. If blue murder came out earlier then they would’ve been way more huge
Plus record companies censored rock bands that they simply didn’t like. It wasn’t as easy to be noticed then as it is today with all the social media platforms

@OUtsidethenine4eva
who cares how they look....listen to how great they are playing.
....by the way the barefoot guy is Tony Franklin...the Fret-less Monster-BASE PLAYER
Amazing!!!!
so badass!
john sykes was the better half of whitesnake!
Bass genius Tony Franklin tweeted recently that this "live" version was recorded in the studio a few days earlier with only the vocals being live on the day.
Great band though. Shame about the hair cuts lol.
The 80s was the era that hairdressers became rich!lol!
@@EVEROSFP1 can't believe I left that comment 7 years ago!
@@The_Macaroon Probably we have commons in the way of thinking!
Love the ending, with all of the fake stops. Ha ha.

Billy ray cyrus killing that bass!! 😂😅
We know Gosh and Sigh, eye roll
@perle3456
Yes, it's Nick Kershaw on bass, Phil Lynott on Drums and David Coverdale on guitar/voc ;-). Oh no sorry - it's Limahl on bass...
If Carlsberg played Sykes tracks....
Fun fact: This isn´t live...they recorded this version before in studio...proof? 1:33 drumfill :-)
Live vocals tho
Filler up close shot from the warm up - sound is live in every other shot.
Fantastic track, but what are they wearing?
😮👍🇧🇳
The song is called Billy fool!
Tony Franlin - How about some shoes bud!
i can swear i hear a fretless bass on Whitesnakes "looking for love"- anyone know if its really neil murray on that track? Things were so screwed up w/ recordings of british bands back then (like black sabbaths weird credits and not knowing who played on albums in the mid 80s)

@wlmason73 Hahahahahahaha Brilliant
@wlmason73 hahahahaha!
Anyone have a better video of this?
Pop crap at these dayz John should better play with sum true band he d never stood long whether in whitesnake or lizzy think o me words
What is he wearing? Hell it's 1989 bro! And by the way he's the bass player not guitar player!
the bass player looks like he had a second job with kajagoogoo
Sorry, but the one barefoot looks like Nik Kershaw....John Sykes is endowed with great gifts..

hey,, brad pitt on bass!!! lol!
Heavy to the point of nonsense continuously.

Nope, absolutely not live. Look (for example) at 1:33, where there's a snare fill on the track but Carmine just keeps playing the groove.
Fantastic band, questionable fashion choices though....
Really good musicians but the song itself just isn't a hit. Try to compare it to bad boys or still of the night it doesn't measure up
Canned music and performance. thumbs down. Really! come on guy's you're such legends, you can't really play the music live?
I'm fan of John Sykes but i had to hit the dislike because of the gay base player playing in barefeet i would have beat the holy shit out of him if i was John Sykes!!!!!!
allanshawn I always play barefoot. When I looked just now, I still had two kids and a wife. Gay?
allanshawn Dude, that’s Tony Franklin! Obviously you don’t know music.
Wtf is with that gay bass player
Tony Franklin, he's a badass bassist.
homophobic much?
Joseph Salinas
Let me guess,a liberal right?
