Jake was replaced when he realized that he was hardly getting paid and asked about it! Typical Sharon. They know that there is an endless supply of players that are willing to play for peanuts just to say they got the gig. That is why George Lynch didn't get the job twice. He wanted to know what he was going to get paid up front.
Pretty funny, at 2:22 Jake tries to reach over to drop tune the E string but Ozzy pulls his hair. Jake is able to get to it at 2:27. Friggin bad ass!! I love Randy but Jake's aggressiveness, unique style and sound put him at the top of my list. One of the unique things I've heard from him is the occasional whistling sound between notes. Can't say enough great things about the man.

What has made Jake unique and outstanding is that he plays not only technically but also basically. I mean he has mixed the taste of 1980's and that of late 1960's - early 1970's. He sounds thrilling and stable. A thrill and stability are something opposite, but he's got them at the same time. That's why I think we've never gotten tired of his playing for more than 35 years since Bark at the Moon.
Absolute perfect description of Jake's overall musical ability , I'd like to think he's what Tommy Bolin would have probably been like if he had lived throughout the 80's and early 90s
Jake at his absolute finest here! Incredible! As a guitarist of over 40 years I can see that Jake has lost conscious control. He's 100% possessed by his subconscious autonomic responses. That's Jake on stage, but Jake's mind is somewhere else. I've been there, briefly. It's amazing. People have referred to it for years as "the zone", but it's much more than what those words mean. You really do feel like another being has entered your body and took over guitarist duties, but is allowing you to stay for the ride.
Here, he's right in the money, i couldnt say in the zone. I'm not gonna down play his stellar performances in the Ozzy gig, wich i love quite a huge deal. But on Badlands, during jams, that s Jake beyond the zone, going places making You forget about the tune they're doing, the gig, the venue, the day, the year. Thats Jake for ya guys. Soul stealer 91-92 gigs was the stuff that makes music more music. Not hearing Randy Rhoads being an outstanding player in a band far below his creative taste. All world class players, but not so much originality, with the exception of Diary of a madman, revelation, and few more tracks from their second lp. Jake s way beyond that L.A. style type guitarist wich peaked with George Lynch and Randy Rhoads. period.
No doubt, Jake is amazing. But it's all about the ability to write memorable songs too. Randy's writing made Ozzy legendary. Jake was an unbelievable hired gun.

オジーの全アルバムを聴き比べて、一番オジーらしさを、ギターで表現したのは、このかただと思う。
今観ても、この当時のJake E Leeのプレイは凄まじい。

ランディローズの正式な後任メンバーとしてUS Festival 83で初見参したインパクトもデカかったけど、ランディ期とは違う本格的なギターヒーロー戦国時代を神風魂で切り込んで行く殺気立っていた頃のジェイク・E・リーは、全く色褪せないですね。
