Lady fish make great vietnamese fish patties. You should consider it for a future video. You filet it and lighty run a spoon over the filet and body. The meat comes off as mush. You season it with fish sauce, sugar, salt, pepper, chives or whatever. Mix with some water to make it less dense and throw it in oil. Taste like chicken bro and makes a day of Lady fish bites worth it.

The Mirrodine is my favorite lure to use for surf trout. Those were a couple of good quality trout! Nice catch!

I love your videos! I was bummed to hear you were all booked up in June. I have a request/suggestion. Could you put together a tackle video with some typical rod sizes/weight, line, reels etc. that you prefer or just mention a little more detail on your tackle set-ups when you use them. Living in the Midwest, my family uses light and ultra light tackle for lake and streams. Gearing up to surf fish is proving to be a bit daunting as I prepare for a first surf fishing adventure with the family to Dauphin Island in late June.

If you ever want a delicious treat, Ladyfish actually are awesome, but require a different prep. Scale them (just to avoid scales in the scooped meat), fillet them, but then you need to scrape the meat off the skin and bones with a spoon. Scoop the meat into a bowl, then make the meat into balls. From there you just bread and fry as you please. I swear to you, this is tasty meat! Scooping and scrapping the meat is the only way to avoid all those bones though. I learned this from Mike D at Jetty Rocks Fishing; a TH-camr from my part of Florida.

Try bigger throws on the retrieve with the spook. Almost all species prefer a big wide walking action especially when i throw one knocker spook. Looking forward to fishing gulf shores first time next month. Lots of good info on ur channel

In texas, the trout are almost immpossible to catch in the surf, unless the conditions are perfect, and you have to be there really early

@@chandlercook9522 yessir, ive used squid, shrimp, grunts, mullet, fishbites, and shiner shad. Even lures as well.
Would like to know where are you fishing at?
After 4 years if you start with 1000 trout you will end up with roughly 8 trout over 20 inches depending on the conditions. I know it was a male but still a little disappointing I will try to keep like 1 a year if I can catch a trout at all😂. Keep it up and nice video!

Dude, I had the biggest beach hook up if my life and it broke me off after a 30 minutes fight and crowd watching. My leader was too long and I think I should have walked into the surf. I immediately came home and redid all my leaders. Any tips for big hook ups?

What has happened to your fishing ladder. Last I saw you bought your ladder. Did you give up on it?
I haven’t had many opportunities to take it out. This day was the first day we had calm surf in a long time. I could have used it, but wanted to go for trout. It will return. The shut down killed a month and a half of my opportunities for sight casting pomps.
