    Experienced Acadia hiker here, I normally am very critical of Acadia TH-cam videos, but this is outstanding. I absolutely love this vid and props to you for hiking Cadillac from Bar Harbor! Taking the Gorge down as well. I know how difficult and exhausting that portion of the hike is, especially coming down. Enjoyed watching it very much, great job, makes me want to get back there. Happy hiking!

      I appreciate the kind words. Next time I will definitely do Gorge up and North Ridge down lol. My muscles were killing me for 4 days after that

    Looks like an incredible outdoor adventure! The challenging climbs are worth it for those stunning views. Well done, and thanks for sharing this beautiful experience!

    Now that is the attitude of a true outdoorsman! Why take the transport when you can just walk the entire way? Way more enjoyable, rewarding and overall, way more beautiful and any other way. Above all you feel like you deserve the view at the end much more than if you were dropped there with the added convenience. Wonderful as always my friend!

      Thanks brother, in hindsight I don't think I'd do that again. Particularly going down the gorge path. That shit hurt for a week 😂

    This looks like a nice hike, a nice place for an outdoor adventure. I really like the views along the way. The rocky climbs and the stairs do look challenging. The views from the peak look very nice.

    That is great information to know a trail may be closed or detoured due to work on it. With this awareness, I won’t be caught off guard if that happens to me when I go. Oh no, I had no idea cruise ships stop there. Yep, definitely avoid that! Great tips!

    We always prefer the easier paths even if they are longer :) absolutely beautiful hike. The detours at least show that they keep the trail well maintained. Great hiking tip 😂

    Don , we are coming up next weekend and love love your videos ! My question is …love the idea of hiking this route even though we DO HAVE A CAR. so, we park in bar harbor …where ? We are staying outside of bar harbor but love the idea of just starting a hike without having to get to some parking spot by 8:a to make it happen to hike up to Cadillac! Thanks and pls keep adding videos for Maine ! Super excited to see this park and the other areas besides Mt Desert also !

      So any of the timed parking spots along the street. You just have to pay for parking. The side streets that are in need of parking permits are something you have to get from the town. Hmm... actually you can park on Edgewood Street. It's a little side street that runs up to the restaurant I'm working at called Porcellis. They lifted the permit parking for that and a couple other streets around there until construction is done there. Now given it's supposed to be for Porcellis or Havana's so you'll just have to promise to come in for a pasta bowl after the hike. And if course come say hi 😁

    This is indeed an interesting trail where one's senses are rewarded by nature's beauty. Your presentation is so informative (full of facts, figures and tips) that enticed me to include this place in my itinerary when I visit Maine. Just curious, are the rocks on the trail slippery/mossy? Cheers!

    • @AdventuresOfATravelingDon
      @AdventuresOfATravelingDon  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not really mossy on the trails. It does get slippery after a rainstorm. Depending on the part of the trail it can stay wet for a day or for a week.

    The hike was somewhat tough but ultimately worth it. The view is great so as the surroundings. You must be feeling hungry after that. LOL. But it is also relaxing, isn't it?

    Did the park charge you to film? I heard they were charging $100 or so and you had to tell them exactly where and when you are filming. Just heads up if you didn’t know about it. Great video! The hike was beautiful

    • @AdventuresOfATravelingDon
      @AdventuresOfATravelingDon  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did not know that. I've been filming in that park for years now. I wonder if it's specifically for drone use. That is regulated and in many cases banned.

      @@AdventuresOfATravelingDon look into it, because I think they can fine you. This something new within the last year or so. I have a friend up in Southwest who films, also on You Tube, and apparently he stopped because of this new rule.

    We put our bodies through torture, and then get rewarded with stunning views.
