    Now chair manufacturers will storm you with offers to review their chairs until you have about as many of them as a fully expanded Sims 3. Then you can open a chair museum.

Well now you can safely smell you farts as they permeate the chairs breathable bottom parts and spread into the room to mix and mingle with the smell of cheetos, sugary drinks and the odory expirations of too many hours playing quake 1 arena!"

    I have to say, i allways love your product reviews. They seem 100% honest about the positives and the negatives. If there's this little detail, that doesn't seem like a big deal, but still annoys the shit out of you, you will point that out.

    Next time you're at Goodwill, get one of those old badass '70s executive chairs, with the tufted burgundy upholstery, nailhead trim, huge metal spring in the base, and wooden legs. :-)

    Holy balls you got sent a $600 chair for free just to review?! Damn that's an expensive way to advertise, and potentially risky as we all know about AverMedia products now...

    • @LGR
      @LGR  9 ปีที่แล้ว +112

      I imagine it costs them far less to manufacture!

    • @R33Racer
      @R33Racer 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Lazy Game Reviews Yeah I think you're right. Them arm rests... For that kind of price (or even a third), I'd still much prefer metal leavers to plastic stubby ones.

    • @vgamesx1
      @vgamesx1 9 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      +R33Racer well not only is it cheaper for them to send you one, they could easily spend $1,000 or more on ads and get less out of it then giving away products for reviews, ads are easily more expensive to get the same amount of interested buyers.

      My chair was only 39 quid from ikea, had it for years and it's still in tip top condition. Which is odd since I have two cats who just love to sink their nails in all my butt-resting furniture. And ontop of that I never sit still, I'm always moving back and forth. Maybe I'm just lucky with buying cheap shit that turns out to be great or something. Who knows.

    • @R33Racer
      @R33Racer 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +L Lawliet I think mine was something like £25 new from somewhere (possibly on offer but still sub £50). I bought it slightly used at that new price originally thinking it was a bargain! It looks great and the armrests though not adjustable, are solid and the frame is entirely metal.
      The faux leather is coming apart though only because I like ripping it. But the cushioning is fine and the shape is really comfy, I like leaning back to has the perfect resistance for leaving it lose. Still strong after about 4-5 years. I think it might be an Ikea or Staples chair. Not sure but I def remember seeing it advertised after I bought it...

    Something about desk chairs like this costing $300-$600 makes me chuckle. When you really step back and look at them I just don't see where the price is warranted. Yes they have good quality made of plastic and metal, but damn. Seems like a rip off.

      +Robee Shepherd Sitting in general is unhealthy. But what do I care, probably more than half my live so far i've been sitting . . /.

    • @vgamesx1
      @vgamesx1 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Ryan Amberger because.. its a matter of would you rather buy a quality, comfortable $500 chair that'll last you 5+ years or buy a $120 cheap piece of crap that might last a year or at most two years before it suddenly snaps and you end up in the floor. (I've had this happen several times already..)
      It's the same with buying nearly anything... Generally you pay more to get a quality item that not only performs better but also lasts longer, remember you DO get what you pay for... like tools for example, yeah you could get a cheap screwdriver or whatever for $1 but if you spent $10 it may have a much stronger and rubberized handle and a much tougher shaft, so yeah.. I'd personally rather have nice things that last a lifetime instead of buying junk that I have to replace often.
      That said however, I can definitely agree that I don't think this particular chair is worth the asking price of $600 since you can get pretty good chairs for $300-$400

    • @antrazitaj5209
      @antrazitaj5209 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Ryan Amberger If you work in an office and sit in them for hours, every day, you really feel the difference. They maybe expensive but they still can be worth it

  • @NoobixCube

    I'd certainly like to see Viva's responses to your criticisms of the chair. A thorough and honest review deserves an equally honest response.
    Also, I wonder how long it will be until you're sent a chair from some rival chair company, because you won't be able to review it without mentioning how it improves on the Viva. Honestly, when it comes to chairs, I'd listen to the review of any TH-camr. Your job involves sitting for insane amounts of time, so if anyone knows chairs, it's you.

    My experience from many years of office work: try to spend near $1000. I wish I had listened to my back early on. Even with a ~$500 chair, it's only good for 3-4 hours max. Office chairs are often rated in hours. The best char I ever had was at an office where they spent $1500 to keep you sitting and productive all day.

    I built my computer chair and its been working pretty good for a few years now. I went to the local "u pull and pay" junk yard and found the most comfortable truck/van seat i could find. Cleaned it up welded a bracket together and bought the tilt mechanism, gas lift mechanism, base and wheels from amazon. I believe I paid less than 100 dollars total and now I have an interesting but useless feature on my chair, I can lean it all the way back almost flat and still roll around happily.

    I have some more bad news for you: I got one of these (slightly different model) and after maybe 6-9 months one of the armrests snapped off at the bolt - something I couldn't repair on my own, so I got a replacement from them. 4-5 months later, the height adjustment of the back broke, which was a big deal for someone almost 2m tall who always had it on the highest setting. Another 3 months later and the back angle adjustment gives out too, making the chair completely unusable - unless I wanted to type while laying down, anyway. Oh, and one of the arms broke again but I was able to get the bolt out that time.
    I was really disappointed that something I paid $400 for broke so many times in such a relatively short time. The mesh back and seat were amazing for the summer heat of Australia, but they don't do me much good now.

    Hah, happens I just bought myself a chair yesterday. Spend quite a bit time to look around and investigate about chairs, I was simply done with the 200-300$ chairs and wanted a proper one. Very quickly it was apparent that you won't get good chair if you go under 1000$, but I just wanted a basic chair, no need for all the neck supports and other nice things. You can get quite good idea of the quality of chair if you look how long warranty they offer for them, good chairs have 5 year or longer warranty period. Bought myself a Kinnarps 6000, after sitting on it for a day I can say that if it stays in one piece its worth the price, I got it for half price as it had been in showroom use, it retails for 840$ and its very basic model. WORTH THE MONEY, damn it just supports all the right places and every part feels and looks very sturdy and high quality, everything is made out grom metal, very little plastic.

    I had a Kathy Ireland mesh chair that lasted for about 5 yrs and I loved it. I then bought a DX Racer USA Special and that thing sucked. I sold it two days ago. Now I just sit on the edge of my super comfy bed and my back feels a lot better than it did in the DX chair.

    Heck, I had to do a bunch of chair shopping a few months ago, and doing that on a budget is always a pain in the butt :(
    But it's always those minor things that make picking one so darn hard.
    Really enjoyed the review, especially when you were going down the path grinning madly! :)

    I got my chair from the General Motors building in Manhattan a number of years back. They were throwing a bunch of office stuff out so I grabbed one. It's made of heavy duty steel and thick fabric. It was in great shape. I, of course, sterilized it. :o Maybe you'd have better luck finding a chair that way.

      Haha, nice. Yeah one of my best chairs was a rescued chair from an old school office. It was from the 70s and was just great!

    I like that store stroll at your local Staples (pretty sure that was that). Thing is, I have found that the hourly brackets for chairs these days are actually very useful compared the the previous decades. Anyways, I think you got your use of that chair. Mine is a 350 chair and so far it has done it's job for 5 years. Did you know there are crazy architect chairs that sell for 3k? I almost got one... almost.

    Its not a proper chair review without covering farts. Thank you kind sir. 10/10 great review. I will not question why you decided to film in the woods lol

    $600/£390 for an office chair far more than I would ever pay. My advice is to find a local company that sells used office furniture, you'll get far superior build quality than most domestic high end office chairs. I bought a mesh style office chair in excellent condition from a used office company 3 years ago, it has all the fancy adjustable features of that $600 Viva chair and the build quality is amazing, and it only cost £65! ($100).

    As a former interior design student I can tell you chairs are a big deal in the design world, maybe why they are so prevalent in the Sims games. Love your videos, btw.

    thank you for reminding me my throne is almost 10 years old and its duct taped together... you should do more reviews like this. having a comfy chair is a must, and sadly most people (like myself) save exactly 0.00 for our chair.

      Aye, after years of abusing my back for 8+ hours a day, I'll never skimp on an office chair again!

    I got a even better chair for about the same price.
    I bought a 24/7 ergonomic chair that had been used for two weeks, for about $700 not including VAT. (A new chair costs, $1400/1800 not including vat)
    A chair is probably one of the most important things in a office, so a chair built for the use is useful. So if somebody is using it a couple of hours a day i cheap chair should be adequate.

    Being a small person(4 10", 110lb) who's not a little person, with spinal problems. A perfect chair is hard to come by. I haven't bought an office chair. I was just given a huge one by my aunt and traded with my brother for his smaller one. I threw one of them sit up pillows in it and it work alright. 600 on a chair is a bit crazy though. BTW I love your chair jokes.

    I much prefer my bottom resting device over those 600 mesh things. Mine is the front seat of a car bolted to plywood, with a caster at each corner, still really comfy 8 years later. Only downside, one arm rest, but doesn't even bug me.
