The strongest swimming session in HISTORY (maybe)! After swimming for 157 days (1,780 miles) I'm enjoying training with no set goal right now (purely training for the love of it) which is why it was an HONOUR to share a barbell, 7,000 calories and a swimming lane with Eddie Hall. Yes, he’s world’s strongest man. Yes, he’s first human to deadlift 500kg... but VERY few people know he was also a DECORATED national swimmer & used swimming conditioning throughout his ENTIRE career! Just an INCREDIBLE human (and apex predator in the water) I guarantee you have NEVER seen a 180kg man move like this in the pool. We spent 11 hours training, eating and training so this is PART 1 of 3 which took place in the gym.

Amazing. Ross I’ve learned to swim because of you. I also met you in Brighton/Hove in May and told you I’d cycle to Paris. I did it in 20 hours. 200km, no sleep, 37 degree heat. It was hell on earth but I’m very proud and wouldn’t have attempted it without the inspiration from your own stoic attitude to the challenges of life. Thank you

Eddie Hall is 362 pounds (according to Google). I weigh 158 pounds. In order to match Eddie's strength, I'd have to do reps with 4 45-pound plates plus a 5-pound plate attached to my weight belt. Fucking hell.

That video came at the right, serendipitous time for me! I am transitioning from a little summer phase of training strength to resuming my main athletic pursuit, boxing, and I was wondering the best way to incorporate deadlifts - which I grew to love over these days - in a way compatible with my weight class...you gave me the perfect modality, rate of force development is always useful in combat sports and it should toast me less than pure heavy reps, making it easier to fit in my program. Thanks a lot!
