G'day Ben. As heavy as, and quality made. I remember, it was just after Feb '66 when Aust "saw" sense and had adopted Dollars and Cents, from the English style currency. I had a go at my Mum for making a part payment, on the Saw, with an old ten pound, note and not a new 20 dollar note. That note, today. is worth 20 times the saw value.
Old IEL/Pioneer saws are what got me into chainsaws. I bought a house that had a model HM in the garage and then shortly after that I scored a nice 620 super. Looked just like yours. Sadly the carb kit for the HM have been long NLA. Cool old saws!
Ben Hall I had never seen a vintage saw before until then. Always have liked engines and when I saw that thought it was so cool. After that I picked up a good running 051 to cut up a five foot wide Doug fir. Then I bought three non running 041 supers and the rest is history. Now I have a couple grand in tools and a garage full of saws lol.
@@yotaismygameI like it! My first saw was a pro Mac 55 from my grandpa's Barn . Then I bought a 056 Magnum II as a firewood saw.......It sunk its teeth in and pulled me in......... as you stated, it was all downhill haha. It's a steep slippery slope for sure, but damn, it's good honest fun!!

Fun fact at least for me. My dad's cousin Ray Pitre owned IEL Pioneer in the 1940s and 50s. He sold out to OMC in 1956. IEL was in Burnaby BC.
